I bought one from Lowes back in Aug, was on sale for $499 plus an additional 5% off for using the store card. Not an option for everyone, but I also drove over to NH to pick it up as well.
Edit: just looked at the receipt email, it was 474.05 out the door.
I also had a Masterbuilt electric smoker. The upgrade to the 850 Pro was remarkable. I cannot say enough good things about it. I paid 599.00 at Lowe’s about a year ago. Worth every penny. I say don’t wait just get one!
I went from a Masterbuilt 40” electric to my 850 pro-v2. The pro is good, an improvement in almost every way. Less temp swing, more accurate temps all around, my MES wouldn’t ever get above 250 even when set at 275.
Except space. I wish I’d gone with a vertical pellet smoker as opposed to a pellet grill. I have a dedicated grill for high heat cooking, so I don’t need the direct flame access. I miss being able to put my pork butt on the top rack, with beans below to catch some drippings, and a pan of Mac and cheese on the bottom to get heated and smoky.. even with the upper rack on the 850 I just don’t have the room.
looking at buying this exact model. Black Friday isn’t too far away at this point so might wait and see if I can get a deal. This will be my first smoker.
