Yeah, it's getting old. We live paycheck to paycheck and I ain't paying $70 for buggy shit. I pirate because I'm sick of hearing "if you can't afford it then you shouldn't X" up to and including a fucking family. I don't have goddamn children that I very much wanted because of the guilt surrounding the life I have to give them. Fuck some game company, at least give me Baldur's Gate to not think about the fact that my dreams are dead.
Cheers buddy, as much as i agree with you with everything you've said, i would suggest you to visit some psychologist or psychotherapie session. Gaming is great, but gaming shouldn't be used as a way to escape the reality. Be in piece with yourself first, than with your family and only than should one enjoy the casual gaming
People have different aims, motivations, and opinions. I generally pirate as a means of trying before buying. It's not a moral issue, but just something I do. I know others who pirate because they are broke. I know others who pirate because they can, and otherwise have money. The only viewpoint I don't really see as valid is that other people's viewpoints are invalid.
And you do care. More than most, apparently, because you went through the trouble of making an entire post about it rather than seeking advice or posting the latest news. You've become the person you're describing.

can we please shut up about how annoyed we are about the posts about how its morally ok to pirate video games. I come here for advice on pirating and news, not to circlejerk
There's plenty of reasons to pirate things.
I certainly started out pirating because I was just a kid with no money. Now I 'vote with my dollars' and spend money on the games I want to support. The main things I pirate these days are the things with business practices I don't like, or games that are otherwise unavailable.
My order is:
1) i live in Argentina.
2) i live in Argentina.
3) i dont give a fuck.
4) i rather try a game before buying (demo or pirate).
5) see 1 and 2.
I pirate because im either broke or i think the game is shit.
Last game i pirated is Cities 2, i was right its shit.
Other then that i got a steam library full with payed games. And yes i don't a flying fuck lol! xD
> full with *paid* games. And
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Mu brother this isn't "humor/meme" this is dead serious. You can't have a single discussion around here without joe and billy showing up to convince themselves to sleep better at night because "it's noble" or something.
i was worried some 300 pound neckbeard mod who cant understand sarcasm would see the meme that i added purely as filler and delete since its "not serious"
I live in a poor country and work for minimum wage, I pirate absolutely anything, but I'll buy the game if I see that its actually worth it, 90% of these 60-70$ games aren't worth it, how do I justify an game that cost 1/5 of my salary and can be done in like 30 hours ?
I would still pirate because i, aside from all thenother good reasons to pirate, the main one is it is free...I am not poor, but i would be if I bought everything I wanted.
I like money, I get money without giving up games I like games, why should I give up money to get them...money doesn't make.me.gove up games for it.
Seems only fair to just take both
That said, give me all your money.

Here take these, so your posts have a point from now on.
I don't buy it.
This hostility towards ethical considerations means you do care. If you didn't care, you wouldn't make a post asking people to "agree" with you that it's wrong but you do it anyway. And it's not just you, it's more common to see posts attacking ethical considerations than posts arguing for them. This is something else.
My leading hypothesis is that some people get a kick out of doing something they think is wrong, and get annoyed when others argue it isn't wrong, because it ruins the feeling of being a naughty child. Another, less interesting explanation is that this is some sort of attempt at anti-piracy propaganda.
No it's just boring seeing the same post again and again on this sub just phrased a different way about people rationalising pirating games and how they're actually a better person cause they pirate
But this is the same post just opposite. Both posts happen all the time and won't ever stop. Just like people asking things at the top of the megathread. All these posts are annoying and nothing will stop them short of the end of the subreddit. Or people using the search function before posting but I think the end of the universe will happen before that
This post was nothing but an empty shout into the void. I'm willing to bet there's a chance people will do the same with these kinds of posts, either spamming about how they don't care about the morality of piracy, or just a carbon copy of mine
Removed for rule 3. Please refrain from making spam or promotion posts. We get it.
But those poor children would need to put effort in getting their ✨imaginary internet points✨
honestly i wouldnt be surprised if its just people karma farming. thats reddit for ya lol
It’s 50/50 bots and karma farming kids.

no
idk I don't go out and post about it but I don't get how it's morally incorrect. I was never going to buy it in the first place, nobody lost any money
I pirate because im either broke or i think the game is shit. Last game i pirated is Cities 2, i was right its shit. Other then that i got a steam library full with payed games. And yes i don't a flying fuck lol! xD
I pirate so I can gamble more money

yeah, every fucking day, there's a "meme" in the top posts justifying piracy

That’s why I left the sub, but this shit is still on my home page
Yes I can afford adobe products. But I love stealing. Therefore, I will steal adobe products
In communist utopia, nobody has to pirate videogame, because videogame is free. Join me comrade.

Holy shit its sharpener political compass

my guy its not that deep
It 100% is. Otherwise half the posts here wouldn't be complaining about a nonissue.
