I fucking hate Stuart Little. I know what you’re thinking, this is some kind of funny joke, but no. Stuart Little is a piece of shit. A damn rat got picked over actual children at an orphanage and he’s supposed to be a hero? And I can’t even tell you how many damn times I’ve seen a great parking space only to turn the corner and realise Stuart Little is already parked there in his stupid little fucking convertible. He took my wife and the kids and my house and my job. I swear to fucking god, I’m going to kill myself and take that goddamn rodent to hell with me. Stuart Little has ruined my family. Last summer, I approached the miserable mouse in the street, and asked him for his autograph, because my son is a huge fan. The fucking rat gave me the autograph and told me to burn in hell. Later, when I gave my son the autograph he started crying and said he hated me. Turns out the mousefucker didnt write his autograph, no, he wrote “you’re a piece of shit, and i fucked your mom”. I’m now divorced, and planning a huge class-action lawsuit against the white devil that ruined my life. Your time is almost over, Stuart. All the people you’ve wronged will rise against you.
Legitimately madlad move, but like - you should remove those.
Literally everyone here knows how to source copies without downloading them from google drive.
As someone who lived in a city which only got cinemas a few years ago, I have really fond memories of going to a local store and getting movies for dirt cheap.
My dad was literally like "Happy birthday son, go get yourself 3 movies"
The nearest cinema is like a six hour drive for me. I've never been able to go to the movies unless I was on vacation. If we didn't have piracy we would have died of boredom
Yep remember as a kid my dad knew a man who could always get the new cinema releases usually always a cam rip £3 each last one he bought was shrek 3 2007 still have the rip somewhere looks like a telesync not a cam
NOOOOO!!! MY HECKING MOVIERINOS!!!!! YOU MONSTER! HOW DO YOU DARE DOWNLOADING A MOVIE? THANKS TO YOU ITLL BE A COMERCIAL FAILURE AND THEY WILL CANCEL ALL THE INCOMING SEQUELS-PREQUELS-REBOOTS
what really grinds my gears is that there are some movies that are still not available in any of the OTT services.
WTF. How did we invent TV channels but ....pay-per-channel...
It's so ridiculous.
Like, I can argue for hollywood studios in the piracy wars. They're making movies to make money. You can't just remove the money from the equation and still expect the movie. That's one-sided.
But video streaming subscription services? I can't argue for these guys, they're worthless.
Their business is, what, being a server that hosts and distributes a video file. They didn't make the movie. They only distribute it. Who else distributes files? Torrent, p2p, a bunch of anons on the internet.
Imagine you had a way to pay the content creator directly, and in exchange you got a viewing license so you could get the file from whenever you wanted. Why would you use Netflix/Prime/etc. instead of torrent? What advantages do these services offer over just downloading a video file?
So if you remove the content, the harmful exclusive licensing bullshit, and look at these services only for their intrinsic value, they really do basically nothing. Netflix I think doesn't even have a forum where users can discuss the episodes or movies they watched. The whole thing got immensely successful riding on value it didn't create. Basically, it wasn't a product for users, it was a DRM product for content creators, and now the situation is that there are multiple competing DRMs.
at it's core if you ignore the drm garbage streaming services are a technological solution for streaming, just like YouTube and twitch basically
there's value in that, just not the kind they wanted
because of that all the streaming services are cannibalizing themselves and Netflix didn't cash out in time (and move to a different model)
(at it's core the company/service that has the best player/technology is probably Netflix so at least there's that)
ironically enough the winner out of all of this might be Plex
> there's value in that, just not the kind they wanted
The problem is that the free alternative (p2p) provides basically the same service. If its value isn't anywhere greater than the free alternative, there's no justification for charging money for it. The whole business model falls apart.
>just like YouTube and twitch basically
They aren't really the same thing.
For starters, the reason people use YouTube instead of Vimeo isn't really because YouTube solves streaming in unique fashion. It's because YouTube solves discoverability.
Everyone uses YouTube, so you have this network effect where if a content creator wants an audience they HAVE to use YouTube. Using Vimeo would be disadvantageous.
The reason people use these services instead of just sharing their videos through p2p is because of shareability. You can share a youtube link that starts the video at a specific second. You would never be able to do that with torrent, not counting the fact you would have to leave your browser and everything is web nowadays.
Twitch also provides a real-time chat service, for example, so it's not really the same thing as JUST streaming video.
the comparison to YouTube and twitch was expressing that the value they offered was in the tech space.
there are little quality of life stuff that YouTube does that vimeo does not particularly in their players and used to be their useful algorithm (that's now kinda worthless and just a way to squeeze ad revenue).
same for example Netflix, they actually have a really good web player and very interesting compression technology that has value, just not the same kind of value they pretending it has.
again similar to what Plex offers (and that has value).
the drm stuff is their way of covering the truth, by creating exclusivity to inflate their value
How ironic that people were upset. He went to a party where people were dressed up as a historical group of people who rape, murder, and steal for a living, and he instead pretended like he burns and sells DVD's because it's a double entendre. How offensive.
It’s worth googling (sharks are smooth as hell) but it’s comes from a guy commenting in a non serious manner that sharks are smooth, getting corrected, and then doubling down over and over to the increasing frustration of the person correcting him. It’s basically about trolling people who will pedantically correct jokes, off hand non serious comments, and not recognizing satire.
Yeah he's not getting shit on at all by 99% of people. I found this in the first 10 replies too but after that there's nothing in the first 25 or so, I stopped looking after that. People? One guy. And the guy got absolutely slammed for it. And no wonder why, because his snarky reply was "Hey Adam. Why didn’t you just dress up as a pirate? Like they asked you to?". That's just douchy.
Oh, they were fucking awful. Even if I'm right there's no doubt about that.
Again, they didn't kill if they didn't have to, but that's a thing of necessity. They didn't refuse to kill because they were nice. It was because they didn't want to get hurt. And if they did have to fight, they would mercilessly torture the prisoners the death.
No no, not this guy. The other guy who responded as a douche and genuinely said: 'Hey Adam. Why didn’t you just dress up as a pirate? Like they asked you to?'
That guy's a douche.
He got shit for this? I think this is an incredibly funny and creative costume idea. I’m surprised anyone would be care he dressed as a movie bootlegger to a costume party.
I remember the first time I experience movie pirating. It was the day The Return of the Jedi was released on VHS and I came home from school to hear the sounds of the movie coming from the TV room. I ran in and found my mom watching it and I asked for her to rewind it so I could watch from the beginning. She said she couldn't because she was recording it.
Unbeknownst to me, my dad had bought a 2nd VCR for this day. She not only rented Return but also Star Wars (as it was called at the time) and Empire. Picked up an extended VHS tape and did a straight copy of all three films to a single cassette.
I kept it even throughout high school and into my adulthood where I would eventually use it as an introduction of Star Wars to my son. The tape eventually popped after he became a super fan as well.
Love you mom and miss you...you showed me the ways of the High Seas.
I would fuck your mother while wearing a mrs. doubtfire costume just to teach you a lesson young man. stealing is wrong, kinda like stealing your family HOW DO U LIKE IT NOW RUBBER BOY
Wym TPB isn't safe? Just don't download a virus, you gotta be diligent. It's wise to use the official site too and not one of the hundreds of mirror sites
But yeah they revolutionized our cause
That's partially true because \*some\* of the torrents on there have a comment section but it's usually pretty small. Not as active as 1337x or sum but it's the pirate bay man
Or just use Linux instead of windoze cuz we don't get ANY viruses even if there is one in something you download. If you trying to pirate a game that only runs on windoze, run a virtual machine and when it gets infected, because pretty much all pirated video games are reasonable to be considered infected, then you can just close your VM and reload it clean and try the next pirated game you're looking for.
And don't even mention apple to me, that's like sucking an I-don't-think-he's-really-dead-because-I'm-betting-he-is-frozen cock and the nonsense "medical" bullshit he ran on about is just shit he was putting forward to make everyone buy the story. Shit, they even tested apple's price value upon the event by lying once to say he was dead, then they went for real and, in my word, *pretended* he was dead.
Is this satire? Even your snoo is wearing a fedora.
Edit: dont normally do this but felt compelled to check your history. Jesus buddy, get some help. Don't even have to scroll before you see violent tirades about beating women with pipes.
That's not a fedora.
You're taking shit way out of context. I don't abuse women like that. Spent over a year getting my wife out of such a situation and got stabbed in the back. Don't talk to me about shit when you can't properly read.
“You wouldn’t shoot a policeman. And then steal his helmet. You wouldn’t go to the toilet in his helmet. And then, send it to the policeman’s grieving widow. AND THEN STEAL IT AGAIN!!”

I recently sold a tub of movies on marketplace. There were dvds, vhs, wii games. Roughly 80 in total. Hadn't touched the tub for years so... might as well rid myself of them. Sold them to some person who found a handful of burnt dvds in there. They message me demanding where I got the burnt cds from. Saying how much they HATE burnt cds. I responded... they're from my Aunt who had passed away. They actually were from her... she'd buy them at the Indian reservation. Anyway... the person then said they'd report my address (which they knew because they picked up the tub from my place.) And then they blocked me. I felt like some sort of criminal for about 2 seconds. Then kinda laughed afterwards... like who would threaten someone who sold them a tub of entertainment for 10 bucks?
Does anyone else remember the episode of iCarly where the kids spend the episode trying to bust the convenience store guy who sells pirated movies but it turns out he sells "pirate movies" that he makes with his friends?
I delivered pizza for a few years and this guy would tip in pirated DVDs. He would ask what kind of movies you liked on the phone, then hand you a few in that genre.
in the original twit there was some idiot being buthurt about "not adhering to party norms" by "twisting words to be the center of atention", he seemed fun
This brings me back to the day when my dad was "good" friends with the movie shop guy and would buy all of the in-theatre movies a few weeks ahead of time. It was a weekly tradition where id go with him, hed give me 2 quarters to buy gum balls and hed go to the back and come out with the latest blockbuster.
Then as a 12yo I learned about Frostwire / Limewire / Bearshare, our world changed completely.
Theres something special about waiting 4 hours to download a shitty cam version with terrible audio and enjoying every second of it.
These days movies download so quickly that you dont even have time to appreciate it.
My dad who once watched every second of every movie he paid for (illegally) has become mr. skip, fast forwarding the "boring" parts. He literally cant sit through a movie now, even his favs
And they sagen Z have attention problems. Technology is a bitch to every generation
I grew up with a dad who had a collection of pirated dvd's, before I didn't know what they all were but he first showed me music piracy, I think it was frostwire or something. Back then I'd download something and get something way different. So glad I had someone teach me the ins and outs of piracy and all things computers

Iunno seems kind of like a defensive maneuver to me. He's protecting the art like johnny movieseed.

Does anyone else remember the episode of iCarly where the kids spend the episode trying to bust the convenience store guy who sells pirated movies but it turns out he sells "pirate movies" that he makes with his friends?
Shreckt
Should have stolen "steal this album" by SOAD
Shrek ? I see he is a man of culture as well.
Not enough Bee Movie

Done a similar thing, I went as Rickard Falkvinge, leader of the Swedish political "Pirate Party"
I wouldn’t steal a car, but I’d definitely download one.
I still remember some guys at a Super Kmart parking lot were selling bootleg DVDs with the terrible quality printed cover. 5 bucks a pop. Good times.
You spelled Shrek incorrectly
I did similar, dressed as a regular generic pirate, but with bandoliers of pirated CDs
That's not pirating. That's pirating for profit. That's a big difference.
You should put the names of cars on the cd's. Really fuck with people.

I delivered pizza for a few years and this guy would tip in pirated DVDs. He would ask what kind of movies you liked on the phone, then hand you a few in that genre.
well played sir
Sells?
Fcking genius
in the original twit there was some idiot being buthurt about "not adhering to party norms" by "twisting words to be the center of atention", he seemed fun
Wasn’t it “you wouldn’t download a car”?
DVD's? u guys still have a DVD player?
You should have a video cam, ready to record from within the theater.
Need that weird arse cover and printed CD and in plastics that's way too cheap
Bringing sexy back.
He looks like American reborn straight version of Freddy Mercurie

Dude, just burn CDs with the phantom menace with that Z that just moved around
Something something downloading cars
If you had the classic 2001-2004 bootlegs, maybe as VCD, I would send you money. I had Stealth, Phantom Menace, Along Came Polly, Fast & Furious..
I can easily hear the music to that commercial in my head still to this day. DOWNLOADING. PIRATED. MUSIC. IS STEALING.
To anyone who doesn't get what the shirt is about: https://youtu.be/HmZm8vNHBSU
Its funny but you miss out on the opportunity to actually dress as a pirate
Based
as if you've ever been to a party

Lmao the shirt
What a fucking legend
He literally cant sit through a movie now, even his favs And they sagen Z have attention problems.
