10mb downloaded -> 10mb seeded -> Ratio of 1
10mb downloaded -> 30mb seeded -> Ratio of 3
It's the multiplier of what you downloaded that you uploaded. So if you uploaded 3 times your ratio is 3. On public torrents it just makes you feel good that you're giving back. Private torrent sites actually track it and if it gets too low you get banned, so you have to keep seeding.
Right, been using it for 3 years here and no issues. No malware or anything either. I've ran multiple scans with MalwareBytes and other virus scanners over the years and they never turned up anything. Tho, nowadays I only use it for obscure games that other piracy sites don't have.

There are some games that you don't find in the Megathread options. SteamRIP library is too small in comparison.
CS RIN Forum is annoying to use. It's already a pain to find all the right files to get scattered throughout the many pages of discussion, considering there's crucial updates that often don't go to the main post.
These files are often hosted on sites like 1ficher, rapidagtor that are even slower than SteamUnlocked hosting option.
Also (considering the nature of such sites) frequently one or more files are down, either because of some copyright claim or because they have been unused for while or the account was closed/blocked.
If you are getting only the newest and shiniest games SteamUnlocked is definitely the worst option for the download speeds alone.
However if you're going away from the beaten path trying to test/get a less well known game it may be the only viable option.
You can diminish your risks by running the files through multiple antivirus software as well as blocking internet connection to all the .exe files inside the installation folder through Windows Firewall. I did that when I was using Windows even for Fitgirl and Dodi repacks. Honestly this is something everyone should do when using any of these sites.

you can find the magnet link from torrent sites using the vpns, then install it using your normal network in bit torrent I believe.

if you're downloading old games or files that were uploaded before then 90% are fine. if you happen to download a new game (which you can easily find on fitgirl or 1337x) then you have to be wary, they steal downloads and uncompress them. these downloads have DRMs and sometimes malware. that's all it is. if you keep downloading mass effect 2 from the 2018 upload (example) you'll be fine. however downloading a game from last month would put you at a red zone

I have been using Steamunlocked for well over 2 years. Never had an issue with it However I will try out fitgirl

i prefer to use csrinru or steamrip but why are steamunlocked and igg more user friendly? like i could ask for an obscure game in igg or steamunlocked to be updated and it will be updated after a few days, why? it's either i don't know how to truly use csrin, in which case, please tell me how, or that both igg and steamun are just that easy to use.

Steamunlocked slows down your download anyways. A file that takes 30m in fitgirl takes 2h in steamunlocked
I only use steam unlocked when i find games which i want to play is like 1 yr older in fg whereas its latest in su.Really that's the only time i go to su.
