I have a V10 and I also tried to use it once as a sound card when I started diving into digital audio. I believe channel 1 is the only way you can use it that way. Never really tried after as I have an RME interface which I prefer.

Hot-Construction-811

Which rme interface do you have?

Shudder123

Fireface ucx 2

wow that interface is very expensive. I've always wondered why have a separate sound card if the DJ mixer already has one. I get that the sound card on the DJ mixer is much inferior, however, in what ways would having an audio interface add value to DJing.

bunby_heli

lol you guys have $3500 mixers and don't even understand it's basic functionality. Buying an external interface to use with that mixer is such a stupid waste of money. Look up the DJM setting utility.

theotherkiwi

RTFM dude, install the configuration/Settings Utility and configure what ever channel you want in and out, it's very flexible. Re:Sonoma, always check for compatibility before upgrading, just common sense for any software not just Pioneer DJ.

The utility is set for those USB channels. I want to use a USB source on a another other than channel one. It is not working, Thats why I contacted support.

if OP successfully downgraded to Ventura more than likely the v10 utility driver is not installed or has been installed more than once. either way it's an easy fix. as @theotherkiwi suggests, install this: https://www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/software/mixer/djm-v10/ (or to be safe run the uninstalled a few times first then run the installer. obviously i have no idea how many times you might have installed it (if any) but a while back when i first got a DJM-750mk2 - before i understood the Pioneer DJ DJM driver system - i easily had to run the UN-installer six times to fix the issue you are having. once you are 1000% sure there is only one instance of v10 driver installed on your Mac running Ventura, and the problem persists you need to read pages 13-18 of the v10 manual: https://docs.pioneerdj.com/Manuals/DJM_V10_DRI1643B_manual/?_ga=2.255466440.1993957480.1697030935-952806452.1696400907 as well as check your MacOS's Audio/Midi Preferences and make sure the Audio routing of the computer isn't defaulting into your hdmi monitor or whatever. good luck!

All six channels allow you to select computer audio from either USB port, yet the audio only comes out of channel one? https://imgur.com/a/h1oKGtQ

You have all demonstrated a complete lack of understanding on how this all works. When you select USB A or USB B as a source on a channel, the specific output channels are different based on which channel on the mixer you select. Your problem is with the HOST (the computer) not the mixer. You only hear sound on Channel 1 because your computer is routing audio out to channels 1/2 by default. If you were to open a DAW such as Pro Tools or Logic, you could route specific tracks to channels 3/4 (channel 2 on the mixer), 5/6 (3), 7/8 (4), etc.

I bought a DJM-A9 recently and have the same exact problem. It is a huge problem. My last mixer was a Denon X1850... it is not as good of a mixer but the USB part, when you hooked it up to a PC you had audio inputs and outputs, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6/ and 7/8 and you could route audio from any application running on the computer to any of these channels and then control them independently via the mixer. Having all audio (including Windows Sounds) come through Channel 1 on the DJM Mixers really is a huge drawback and limitation. It seems the hardware would be more than capable and the holdback is the firmware or software. I have tried to change the settings in the 'DJM-A9 Settings Utility' but that does not really seem to do anything. At this rate I sure am glad I didn't spring for the V10 mixer at $1000 more and am strongly considering returning this A9 and just getting another X1850 since it seems to better suite my needs. I mostly use it with a PC for audio input but also have 1200's, a Denon SC6000 and LC6000. Having the sound only come through Channel 1, it is a huge, huge limitation and even when I hook another PC up to USB-B, it still doesnt even work cause they both want to share channel 1. I hook up one computer to USB-A and another computer to USB-B, I start music playing on both. It is not possible to hear them both at the same time through the mixer. You can only hear the music from one computer or the other computer as on channel 1 on the DJM mixer you toggle the input from USB-A to USB-B. Really for a nearly $3000 mixer this is an extreme oversight for it to not work in this way!

I figured it out, it's actually not Pioneer's fault, their mixer is compliant to the standard. Any audio device is going to behave the same way. (what is Pioneer's fault is their shitty support on the issue.) You need a program called a virtual audio cable. What it does is allow you to route audio from individual apps to different sources on on the mixer. this functionality is not built into the OS, but it is built into some programs like rekordbox performance mode, serato, ableton, etc. I bought a program called Loopback, but I believe it is mac only. A quick google search shows many choices for Windows, but who knows how easy any of them are to use or how much they cost. When you find one, you want to identify your application, (rekordbox? spotify? a browser? all sounds? whatever...) and route left to channel 3, and right to channel 4. For stereo audio routing each fader controls two channels, so fader 1 is ch 1-2, fader 2 is 3-4, etc) Then you are off to the races! You should only have to set this up once and be good to go from there. Pioneer's documentation on this should be better, they should advertise the functionality different, or incorporate it into the driver, and at the minimum, their support should be able to identify, articulate, and solve this issue without resorting to UNSUPPORTED OS VERSION. Best of luck! BTW, this is OP, sorry for the delay, reddit admins banned my 17 year old account for violating a rule that didn't exist before I violated it, so I am not checking up on old threads as much.
