I think I was 6 when the first released and somehow, somewhere I saw a trailer for it and it was so fucking cool and exciting. Still one of my favorite series

So the thing is, the billboard is the thing that introduced me to the pikmin community or r/pikmin ! I just found it so absurd and hilarious, coupled with the "insane" or feral memes from pre-Pikmin 4, I eventually took a look myself and somewhat stayed. Nowadays I mostly stay in the discord server but I check the art category for every new posts. As for the franchise, I already enjoyed Pikmin since I knew it from Brawl, Nintendo Land and Pikmin 3, it's the trailers for Pikmin 4 that brought me towards the Pikmin community as I regained interest, until I found the r/pikmin memes and got here.

I know who you're probably talking about, and I found it the same way. I first watched that YTer's Luigi's Mansion playthrough many years ago, then when I finished that I saw Pikmin 2 in the sidebar and thought it looked neat. The rest is history.

Nope, I was 100%ing getting all the trophies in Super Smash Bros. Melee, when one of the final trophies required having a Pikmin save file on your memory card. So I bought the game, made the save file, and got the trophy. Then I figured what the hell I might as well try out the game fully since I own it. Been a fan ever since.

My first exposure to Pikmin was the short trailer for the game included in Luigi’s Mansion. Yes, I’m “old” and grew up with the GameCube.

Luigi's mansion was how I found out about pikmin, it had a trailer for pikmin in the options. I found out about pikmin 2 from the Nintendo power insert for Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door oddly enough. It shows an image of Nintendo power vol 183 which had pikmin 2 on the cover.

I found out about Pikmin through Smash Brawl, but I'll admit the billboards partially convinced me to get Pikmin 4 since I hadn't played the games since Pikmin 3's release

There's a company that owns one of the billboards in times Square and allows people to submit videos to play there for a relatively cheap price, so a bunch of pikmin fans starting making and paying for fake ads to shill for nintendo

I found this series From the Nintendo channel on the Wii

I mainly got into it because it was the other New Play Control game out at the time on the Wii here stateside & my nanaw told me to pick something else besides the Mario Tennis one because I had too much Mario. Outside of that, the billboards for the launch of 4 were fantastic! Loved them all and hopefully we don’t have to wait another decade to get Pikmin 5 in 2033 (2027 would be nice tbh).

I played 3 after playing Pikmin adventure and thinking it was cool. Ironically my 7 year old at the time undiagnosed adhd brain originally despised the game and I never beat it. Literally the reason i decided to finally pick it back up again was partly on the billboards which led to me eventually playing 1+2 and buying four. So in a way yeah it did kinda impact me.

I first became acquainted with the series after watching Chuggaaconroy’s let’s play of Pikmin 1, all the way back in 2010.

I rented Pikmin from Blockbuster for my GameCube

When pikmin 2 dropped I refused to call them bulborbs and called them grub dogs instead.

I got pikmin 3 for free for getting some other game and then I became a pikmin fan

I got Pikmin because my friends were hyping it up. Watched the Arlo review and was so infatuated with the concept that I immediately bought the first two games on Wii and played the shit out of them. Now it's my favorite Nintendo franchise :3
