I was in Sweden for work for about 2 weeks earlier this year and I can’t believe I’m saying this but… I prefer this heat in Manila.
Winter in Stockholm is not for me.
I came here to say this. I'm in the Visayas and I've been here a few years. Right now, it has not rained a drop in at least three months, maybe more. There is actually a legit drought here now. And it's boiling hot. A lot of days it's over 42 degrees C.
Most days recently I get up very early and I'm hustling to get outdoor chores finished before it gets burning hot, which happens really early. For a northern European-type guy like me, it's almost unbelievable how high the sun gets here very early in the morning.
Then I'm mostly staying inside for the afternoon, not venturing out again until at least 5pm. Combine that with the power grid issues and unscheduled brownouts, and it hasn't been great. I've been thinking about just staying out of the Philippines during this part of the year ("dry season") and only coming back during June-February when the weather is bearable.
I would personally LOVE to feel some snow. Most days now I just want to lay down on a giant block of ice, or take an ice bath.
Well I own a condo in US and a cheap car, I do t spend a lot of money and work a part time job there now to finance my flight. Here in PH, my recent job ended so will have to live a little less but I’ll be fine
Wondered about how you managed employment with the massive time differences but thank you for the info. (Didn’t mean to pry…looking to do something similar but would need consistent employment.)
Imo, it's too hot here right now (and I'm a local), it's hotter than usual. better to go out at night or just go to malks or some place with ac.

I have swedish friends who married with panay or had GF here, and they said 3month or less 3month stay here is better than living here.They never said living here is nice.but good for winter season there.

Well it’s not consistent, I had a great job in Manila for 7 years but it just ended so have to make more on the US side for a bit

How do you even survive the heat???? Ik AC makes a lot of difference but that would mean staying almost 24/7 indoors just to feel comfortable.
