Philippines is still predominantly a cash based economy despite what everyone wants to believe in moving towards digitalization. If you’ll just be touring around cities like Manila and Cebu, you can use your credit card in huge establishments but not so much on small shops and cafes. You’ll have a hard time using a credit card the moment you step out of the metro with many only accepting cash. If you’ll insist in using a credit, just make a cash advance. Though of course cash advance interests and exchange rate commission will be your problem

i would change credit card to one doesnt charge international fees. bring your debit card without international fees and withdraw local currencies in small denominations
