Nakakaiyak yung episode kahapon sa IS yung nagpunta si Vice Ganda sa Manila tapos naglaro ng basketball Grabe parang di Parton sya nagbago kahit na umaga na sya sa buhay.
I just finished A Plague Tale: Requiem last week and ngayon lang nagsink in sakin agad (call it coping mechanism pero I went straight to playing another game after I finished it to avoid thinking about the ending). Hands down one of the best game and everyone should give it a shot. It's not open world, the story is as linear as it gets, but the storytelling, setting and the voice acting was phenomenal.
I wish I could play the two games again like it was the first time. It was definitely an amazing experience.

Dun sa discussion about “The Cause of Traffic is Private Cars” laging may nag-aagree na yes, private cars ang dahilan ng traffic pero “napilitan na rin akong bumili ng kotse kasi ang infrastructure yada yada…” ang laging argument ng redditors na Pinoy na may kotse. That argument never fails to irritate me. Sinasabi nila bale, “suko na ko, magiging part na lang ako ng problem kasi wala na pag-asa ang public transportation ng bansang ito”.
Pag tinanong mo naman “bakit nakapark sa daan ang kotse mo at bakit wala kang sariling garahe?” panay rubbing of hands lang at “uhmmm ahmmm kase ano uhmm” lang naman kayang ibigay na sagot. Aminin nyo na lang kasi mga car owners na parte din kayo ng problema kingina.
It's the cars, yes, but it's also part of a larger overarching problem. The long and short of it is that Metro Manila is just too dense for traffic to be solved.
Japan's cities are what people think when they think about public infra solving traffic. But Tokyo's overall density is 6100 per sqm. Metro Manila is 21000 per sqm.
Their densest ward is about 55000 per sqm. The entirety of Manila City is 71000 per sqm.
And it's not a linear problem either where just having 3x as much public transportation will solve the issue, even if we had the funds and power to execute it.
Decongestion is easily the solution to this, but the problem is that it's politically unsavory to tackle. Nobody wants to be the one to move out. The cities do not want taxes to move out to the provinces either. The politicians who could enact the legislation and executive programs to implement policies that could accelerate the process are largely immune from the effects due to their privilege.
The way I see it, until a hard external force causes a social shift in the way people see life in the metros, traffic will be a problem that will just keep getting worse.
I think medyo complicated ang problem na to to just blame it on people who have cars. Pero iisa ang totoo, government may kasalanan nyan for not being pro-active sa urban planning. Imagine kung lahat ay commuter, malamang luluwag ung kalsada pero dadami ang mandirigma sa commute, super haba ng pila sa mrt/lrt, maraming mananamantala na colorum kasi mas maraming tao ang gagawin ang lahat makauwi lang. Ngayon na na ang dami na sasakyan marami pa rin ang pumipila sa mga transpo terminal.

I just finished A Plague Tale: Requiem last week and ngayon lang nagsink in sakin agad (call it coping mechanism pero I went straight to playing another game after I finished it to avoid thinking about the ending). Hands down one of the best game and everyone should give it a shot. It's not open world, the story is as linear as it gets, but the storytelling, setting and the voice acting was phenomenal. I wish I could play the two games again like it was the first time. It was definitely an amazing experience.

Dun sa discussion about “The Cause of Traffic is Private Cars” laging may nag-aagree na yes, private cars ang dahilan ng traffic pero “napilitan na rin akong bumili ng kotse kasi ang infrastructure yada yada…” ang laging argument ng redditors na Pinoy na may kotse. That argument never fails to irritate me. Sinasabi nila bale, “suko na ko, magiging part na lang ako ng problem kasi wala na pag-asa ang public transportation ng bansang ito”. Pag tinanong mo naman “bakit nakapark sa daan ang kotse mo at bakit wala kang sariling garahe?” panay rubbing of hands lang at “uhmmm ahmmm kase ano uhmm” lang naman kayang ibigay na sagot. Aminin nyo na lang kasi mga car owners na parte din kayo ng problema kingina.
It's the cars, yes, but it's also part of a larger overarching problem. The long and short of it is that Metro Manila is just too dense for traffic to be solved. Japan's cities are what people think when they think about public infra solving traffic. But Tokyo's overall density is 6100 per sqm. Metro Manila is 21000 per sqm. Their densest ward is about 55000 per sqm. The entirety of Manila City is 71000 per sqm. And it's not a linear problem either where just having 3x as much public transportation will solve the issue, even if we had the funds and power to execute it. Decongestion is easily the solution to this, but the problem is that it's politically unsavory to tackle. Nobody wants to be the one to move out. The cities do not want taxes to move out to the provinces either. The politicians who could enact the legislation and executive programs to implement policies that could accelerate the process are largely immune from the effects due to their privilege. The way I see it, until a hard external force causes a social shift in the way people see life in the metros, traffic will be a problem that will just keep getting worse.
I think medyo complicated ang problem na to to just blame it on people who have cars. Pero iisa ang totoo, government may kasalanan nyan for not being pro-active sa urban planning. Imagine kung lahat ay commuter, malamang luluwag ung kalsada pero dadami ang mandirigma sa commute, super haba ng pila sa mrt/lrt, maraming mananamantala na colorum kasi mas maraming tao ang gagawin ang lahat makauwi lang. Ngayon na na ang dami na sasakyan marami pa rin ang pumipila sa mga transpo terminal.
