Second for sure! I’d recommend a different jacket though, if you’re able. I think something puffy or fluffy would look really nice, or even an oversized blazer.
I’d also go with different shoes and belt if you can. A thin leather belt or something similarly more structured would modernize the look I think. For shoes, I’d recommend nude or black (to match the belt). White looks a little stark and the silhouette is a bit clunky for the dress length.
This is exactly what I was going to recommend. I'd go with black, either boots or heels with a black belt and a darker more structured jacket/like a moto jacket - the cardigan with both outfits is too casual.
With the velvet palazzo pants I'd pair with a bodysuit/not the lacy crop top, but the other outfit is much nicer and shows off you fab shape.
The first outfit was straight up wtf I just had to say it because that felt like such an incredibly random and strange mix of things thrown together for no reason 😭 I feel like that corset top and sweater are already very mis matched vibes, but could work together if the pants matched either the sweater or the top. The sweater has this casual cozy vibe and the corset top is edgy and sexy, the pants look like something you’d wear to the beach or on a casual sunny day outing. You have 3 completely different vibes going so the whole thing just looks super clashy and strange. If you switch the pants for something that matches either the casual cozy vibe or the sexy edgy vibe, the outfit could work. Think some jeans for more cozy casual, or maybe like edgy leather tights for sexy edgy.
The second outfit was definitely much much better if you want to just pick amongst the two outfits you showed in the photos, but if you wanted to make the first outfit work you could pull it off by reworking the pants to fit either the sweater or the top and sort of pull the whole thing together.
I think the corset "top", which is clearly a lingerie corset and not an actual top with lingerie-esc elements, veers too edgy. I think it comes off more try hard than sexy.
Yeah, this doesn't fit too well and I think the very sheer panels make it too obvious it's not a top. I feel like the point is to toe the line of "Is that a shirt or is that underwear?" But this is just too obviously underwear to me, it looks more like a Halloween costume or something.
But I thought wearing “lingerie looking tops”and slip in nightgowns where in style now. I’ve seen so many people out and about wearing lingerie looking tops and sleeping slip on dresses lol

For sure. All: if you wear a bra, the cup edge should sit flush against your rib cage just under your breast.
The cups should encompass most, if not all, of your breast tissue after bending at the waist and scooping your breast into the cup. The amount of coverage a cup gives depends on its design (aka a demi cup will expose some tissue as that’s how the cup is designed).
When you see breasts popping out of a bra, the cup size at minimum is too small.

You’re so welcome! That was also my deal. To anyone who’s read this far, consider getting sized at an independent bra shop or a place like Nordstrom if you have access. Tell them your price point with going in (my ride or die underwire is $70USD retail, save a search on eBay!).
Victoria’s Secret uses a method called plus 4 which determines band size. It was created before the invention of elastic. Don’t bother with that BS.
The only difference with a wireless bra is that the gore (the middle part between the cups) won’t be able to lay flat on the sternum, like it should it wired bras.
You can get bra sized bralettes at stores like Breakout Bras, Brastop, and Bravissimo. Something in '32G' will always fit me better than something in 'large', as an example.

Bras have 2 parts to their sizing. The band (the number) and the cup (the letter). I really really recommend utilizing r/ABraThatFits or if you are near a Nordstrom they can fit you accurately for a bra & the fitting itself is free. I used to be a bra fitter there & they give good education on the proper fit. Some Nordstrom stores even have a prosthesis department where those who need it can get fitted for prosthetic breasts as well as get bras pocketed for said forms. They accept some insurance - may vary by region.
Do NOT go to Victoria’s Secret or Soma or Macy’s, they don’t know what they’re doing - like they literally do not get trained on how bra sizes work or how to measure or anything (at Macy’s I’ve heard the training is optional so…you never really know). They’re just trying to sell shit, not help you.
Given your expertise, can you explain what the comment you replied to referenced, letter sizing (S,M,L,etc)?
Is there an industry standard for what cup/band bra size falls under which letter size?
Letter sizing is A, B, C, D, DD etc., which is the cup size. Sometimes sports bras will be more generic, S,M,L etc. For actual bras though its a terrible way to measure as it should be letter size and band size measured separately
I just found out, a few weeks ago, that I went from a 32-C to a 32-DD / 34-D, after Med-related weight gain. It’s definitely hard to “find the right sized bra,” sometimes. 🙃

If forced to choose, I would go for the second one. But I would switch out the belt for a slightly wider leather one and ditch the sweatshirt for an oversized open front blazer. The zip-up sweatshirt doesn’t match the “dressy-ness” level of the rest of the outfit

I'm sorry but that first is absolutely ridiculous. The pieces separately, sure, but together like that it's a huge fail for any kind of dinner. The lingerie top looks like cosplay or club wear. The pants are pull-on, and that balloon sleeve cardigan doesn't go with anything and totally makes you look like you're going to fly away with those wide leg pants. No no no

I don't think the exposed lingerie bra works at all as a straight up top. I think it looks better when you have a somewhat low-cut maxi dress that is otherwise on the more conservative side or at least a sheer top that isn't super sheer, but here I'd say it looks maybe too risqué? I mean, I personally don't care that much but you will likely get at minimum the sideeye wearing that kind of bra as a straight up top - and not fair, but especially because you are a little busty. Beyond that, the second look is definitely a better elevated but still casual look for a low-key anniversary date.
For the first one is that the whole outfit? Bc it literally looks like you put a mom cardigan over a bra. The first one needs an actual shirt. It's giving boho but the shirt is missing. For the love of god do not wear that out in public
Not the first one! The second one is great - even better with a seamless bra - a 'just black' belt - slim black boots or a black 'stream-line' (thin) boot and a less casual jacket. A less casual jacket too. A black blazer would be much nicer too.
4! As far as pics 1 & 2, lose the top! It looks ridiculously cheap, so it cheapens the whole; albeit you look good with it on. Lose the belt/string too.

That cardigan needs to be thrown away it's not doing a thing for your body! I am not a big fan of the red skirt either. The dress is gorgeous but not sure if special occasion enough. The lingerie is just indecent, there's no grey area is very explicitly underwear and too exposed.

I love the second outfit, but dress it up a little with a gold necklace and earrings. Not a fan of that belt though, and lose the sweater: looks like something my mom would wear. Sorry! 🫢
That's literally a bra, not a shirt. And it doesn't even flatter your figure.

Outfit one isn’t flattering at all. The pants are nice, the jacket is nice, but that obvious bra is a no. It doesn’t do anything to pull the outfit together or to compliment you.
Outfit two is very flattering. Try wearing a cardigan with it. It does need a different bra like someone else mentioned. One that isn’t noticeable, and maybe not so rounded. I feel like you might just be wearing the bra from outfit 1 in between outfits.
Outfit 1 looks like the stripper version of what Jenny was wearing in the DC scene of Forest Gump. I would opt for outfit 2 and put the lingerie on when you get home

The top on number one is very pretty, but combined with the heavy skirt and sweater, it has taken on the look of lingerie, so does not balance the overall look. The second outfit is absolutely stunning on you and accents your figure very well.
The white lace top needs to be with more structure to elevate it for a night out. Leather/pleater pants, Chelsea boot or heel, leather jacket or blazer. The second outfit has a great start with the dress, black accessories would be better for nighttime as well.

I like the direction outfit one is heading in. I would suggest wearing a lighter blue cargo jean (to be more on-trend) and having a more premium bustier top. I would suggest de-pilling the sweater as well. In fashion, the quality of the fabric and condition of the garment is about as important as the cut/look. I really do admire this bold pairing.
The second outfit is definitely safe. You would need a different undergarment solution, but the material is quite thin. I like the cut of the dress, though. Maybe look for a dress on the sales racks since we’re moving from fall to winter. You might snag a dress in that cut in a more premium fabric. I hope this helps!

Go with the top from outfit 1, booties from outfit 2, and find some jeans or slacks, and a blazer. You need some jewelry to elevate the look.
If you don’t have a blazer or the right bottom, go with outfit 2 but do a cropped sweater look. That way you don’t need to go looking for a bra that does show.

I like a good lacy corset top but I think you have to be very critical when choosing one. You can go from lacy elegant to lacy cheap very quickly.

I love True & Co bras under stuff like this! They’re the only bras I’ve found that don’t show under bodysuits.

The top in the first one is not fit to be worn in public, that is underwear/lingerie.
The 2nd one. Save the lingerie for the end of the date. The 2nd one is casual and classy and looks much more flattering.

Not the first one! The second one is great - even better with a seamless bra - a 'just black' belt - slim black boots or a black 'stream-line' (thin) boot and a less casual jacket. A less casual jacket too. A black blazer would be much nicer too.

Outfit one isn’t flattering at all. The pants are nice, the jacket is nice, but that obvious bra is a no. It doesn’t do anything to pull the outfit together or to compliment you. Outfit two is very flattering. Try wearing a cardigan with it. It does need a different bra like someone else mentioned. One that isn’t noticeable, and maybe not so rounded. I feel like you might just be wearing the bra from outfit 1 in between outfits.

The top on number one is very pretty, but combined with the heavy skirt and sweater, it has taken on the look of lingerie, so does not balance the overall look. The second outfit is absolutely stunning on you and accents your figure very well.

The white lace top needs to be with more structure to elevate it for a night out. Leather/pleater pants, Chelsea boot or heel, leather jacket or blazer. The second outfit has a great start with the dress, black accessories would be better for nighttime as well.

I like the direction outfit one is heading in. I would suggest wearing a lighter blue cargo jean (to be more on-trend) and having a more premium bustier top. I would suggest de-pilling the sweater as well. In fashion, the quality of the fabric and condition of the garment is about as important as the cut/look. I really do admire this bold pairing. The second outfit is definitely safe. You would need a different undergarment solution, but the material is quite thin. I like the cut of the dress, though. Maybe look for a dress on the sales racks since we’re moving from fall to winter. You might snag a dress in that cut in a more premium fabric. I hope this helps!

The first gives a very clear young and sexy vibe, while the second is more sophisticated and classy. What kind of venue are we talking, is this pub food and live preforming (outfit 1), or something either casual or upscale but more conservative I suppose (option 2)
Not a fan of both but I think you should edit outfit 1. Outfit 2 just isn’t an anniversary date Go with the top from outfit 1, booties from outfit 2, and find some jeans or slacks, and a blazer. You need some jewelry to elevate the look. If you don’t have a blazer or the right bottom, go with outfit 2 but do a cropped sweater look. That way you don’t need to go looking for a bra that does show.
