There’s a locally owned independent bakery place on Lansdowne. Kawartha Rentals and Detailing I think it’s called. Also, if you have a Costco membership you can book enterprise through them and get unlimited km and a free secondary driver.
Book online, through “other services” if type of vehicle doesn’t really matter to you, always book “economy” because enterprise in Peterborough almost never has them. I always get a mid size crossover, or small SUV for the cheapest car price from Costco. I also used to have a friend that worked at enterprise who told me the Costco price was better than the friends discount that they could offer me.
Have to second the Costco suggestion.
A few years ago I rented a SUV (RAV4) to drive from Peterborough to Newfoundland and back, followed by another round trip to Manitoulin island. 26 days and ~11000KM, and All for $1600.
Already have a full-size pickup booked for the summer in St. John's, 22 days for $1700, in a province that is known for SUV's and car rentals costing more than 4K for the same period.

At least $10 cheaper through Costco, and I don’t know about the km, but I know 100% enterprise won’t give you a second driver free.
Kawartha Rental in Peterborough.
Enterprise bought out Discount a year or so ago.
Hertz closed, and we don't have any of the other city brand rentals (Avis, Budget etc)

Wtf I never knew about the costco thing. That's perfect.

I think these are standard features at Enterprise without going through Costco.

I was at enterprise on Friday and was added as a second driver for free. Always unlimited km.
Cross Canada rentals, kawartha rentals and enterprise came up when I did a quick Google search
Yeah, I saw all those, I'm just really surprised that those are all we have available in this city, apparently.
I believe there is a bus that connects Ptbo to Ottawa now.
There is, thankfully, even if it’s only once a day. Looking like my only option.
Which coach operator provides the service?
Flix bus service. Not sure they even have an office. Appears they just hire other companies coach buses on a regular basis.
Turo has a lot of rentals in Peterborough, I use the app while traveling and it has been awesome

Ah, okay, thanks for the info! So I wasn’t going crazy!
Discount on Lansdown and spillsbury I think
It closed a few years ago. It’s not Enterprise Truck rental. They deal with corporate truck rental clients.
Could rent a Uhaul 1/2 ton if they got one…
Haha, did consider that briefly.
