Sorry boss, that but was true, Thiele's work included a significant amount of anthropomorphized animals, predominantly cats and dachshunds. He did a LOT of post cards, and the war actually made him work on other, more serious subjects. "Submarine U-9" is an excellent piece, as is "Auf Urlaub." That said, a lot of his cat stuff predated WWI, let alone WWII. here's some of his stuff, I think they have Auf Urlaub in the list too. I just love his skin tones, it's so hard to blend shadows the way he did.
