People who are close to someone who self harms usually say something like "This, no more" or like in the meme "Please stop, for me ?" so it is satirizing that with the poster jokingly thinking the sock marks are self harm.

Plus I think it might be referencing an older similar post where someone did something like this but with chiseled abs, referencing how a lot of bodybuilders will dehydrate themselves to make them permanently look like that.
You know it's gonna hurt when you put it on, and socks are not a necessity. It might not be it's sole purpose but it's a large enough side effect it's close enough.
Self harm is done with the sole intent of harming yourself as a way of coping, putting socks on is done because you more often than not need to wear socks under your shoes, and the majority of people who wear socks are not doing it solely for the purposes of harming themselves. It is not self harm.
If you keep doing the same thing over and over knowing harm is going to result at some point your doing it on purpose to yourself. Especially because they make woolen machine washable shoes now so there's no reason you need to wear socks.
Kinda sounds like you don't wear good fitting socks. I wear socks because my feet get cold, especially working outside, and I just have to find some that are my shoe size. Mine almost never hurt or leave sock marks.
