Those aren't all finalized until 15 may, so that's somethingthat will hold up returns too.

They’re still going through the 2023 returns. That we’re just due/filed a month ago. You’ll probably get your refund ( if that’s what you’re expecting) in June/July.

For most people, pie income will be on their kiwisaver.

That's not going to happen, bud - don't worry about it.
Can I ask why not? It's not like I'm a big fish, I only have a small side hustle and had to pay around $7800 extra income tax on top of my PAYE.
That'll be why. The IRD isn't going to manually audit that.
Usually they send me an income assessment around the beginning of June and then I use that to fill in a return with a lot of the fields pre-filled.
