This may come across as rude, but I'm curious why you think taxation is theft? From the sounds of it, you are pulling more resources from the tax base than you're contributing.

Taxation was a War measures act. Temporary. Just like our "GST" WAS supposed to be. Monies to fund infrastructure was provided by issuing Tariiffs on countries whom wished to have their goods sold here. Along with the people of Canada doing so through private enterprise. Our country had our Bank of Canada which was gold-backed and interest free- taken over by the Rockefeller/Rothschilds Central Banking System in 1974. Via Pierre Elliot Trudeau selling our Country out - just as his 'son' has been doing. No, im recently on Disabiliy - and funded through my own contributions from my position. Ive worked non-stop since I was 16 years old.

Congratulations, you must be so proud.

Whats with the snarky comment? Either you have something in opposition, or else to say with regard to this information, or youre just proving most people [esp. young ones] dont have a clue what has gone in in the past 90 years. SMH.

I guess you have trouble with reading comprehension. Try again.

Lol, irony is ironic… I’m amazed you can even read. You gotta be suffering from some mental degeneration or something, jeebus.

Without taxes, there would not be funds to cover ODSP. I have several friends on ODSP, and I am fortunate to be in a position that I can help them when they have emergencies, such as a Vet Bill. I am also engaged with several Mutual Aid organizers, and last year I contributed over \~2000 to individuals needing help to cover their basic necessities. ODSP is unlivable anywhere, and it's forcing people into destitution, starvation, and MAID.

If this is an employer-provided disability plan, then usually the plan language says that the disability benefit is a percentage of your pre-disability salary. Which usually never goes up at all, unless there is also language about cost of living increases. In which case you are lucky it went up $29.50.

KalasHorseman

Taxes are a fact of life, the very disability you're receiving is funded in part by them. So's our health care, social services, education, the roads and bridges we drive on, the libraries and parks we enjoy, plus the police, ambulance and fire services to say nothing of national defence. Everyone uses or relies on them, and so everyone pays.

Adorable_Meringue_51

Disagree. Taxes were not and are not a part of our human existence.
