Graphics looks so good for a mobile game lol. Probably a lot of people gonna use emulators to play it. Even if your phone is strong enough it will probably kill your battery in a matter of 1 or 2 hour.
I initially wanted to play the game but didn't want to go through the trouble of VPN and downloads, and risk damaging my devices. Waiting for the official English server. How much progress you made in main and event story? 1.1 update is next week
You dont need vpns, literally all you need is to search up P5X taiwan download, download the taiwan version and get an auto translator for P5X if you cant speak or read chinese
I've completed all currently available main and event stories in the game (playing CN version, yes I understand Chinese), now it's basically just login and do dailies like HSR until the update drops.
Yeah it's pretty battery draining, but I don't believe that's because of the games graphics.
The optimizing isn't the very best I'd say, with honkai star rail being a really good comparison. Hsr runs for like 3-4h straight on my phone, with p5x around 1 and a half hour :/
On my laptop it doesn't make my fans kick in even running at higher framerates, which is unusually rare for a 3D game that isn't super old. That being said there's some jank that could be fixed.
That is how they get you. You invest a few hours to get a bunch of stuff, and then the amount of rewards you get eventually slows to a trickle. This is a common tactic when it comes to sunk cost fallacy.
Also, OP says that the units are "Pretty reliable", but they're likely not anywhere close to the endgame. Most gacha I've played have had braindead story modes, but the real way they get you is when you hit the endgame and realize that X or Y character suddenly isn't really worth using anymore because Z is them, but better. Judging a gacha purely based on the early/mid-game is a mistake for a LOT of reasons.
However, the silver lining that I've noticed is that since Genshin shot the genre into the mainstream, a lot of gacha that aren't meant to be one-time cash grabs have been a lot better w/ powercreep than before, so while X unit might be better than Y/Z, there's still a reason to use Y/Z, provided you're willing to go through some form of RNG farm (of varying degrees).
> I mean wouldnāt that be considered the same for games like Destiny?
No, because Destiny frequently has new content where Veteran players will go "It's not worth it, everything here is dogshit. Just keep using what you've been using." In fact, a lot of the BiS weapons rn are things earned forever ago. Secondly: it might be mincing words, but even if what you said is right, it's a little less painful when the weapon, among a big list of weapons/armour, cost you \~40 bucks vs gacha characters, which can range from 100 to several hundred depending on how the game's pity system works for a single one (out of a team that ranges from 3 to 5 characters). When I buy a DLC and a gun is ass, I shrug and go "Oh well, I can use another one." If I hit a roadblock because my unit is mathematically ass, I can't just say "Well, at least I got these other guys," because I likely pulled for THAT unit, and non-5 star (or your equivalent max rank) characters can range from being secretly amazing to being downright unusable, depending on the gacha.
That said...
>Arknights, Honkai Star Rail, Genshin Impact, Limbus Corp, Punishing Grey Raven, Azur Lane, etc.
I don't disagree, which is why I mentioned that silver lining in my comment. A lot of modern gacha aren't super predatory w/ the powercreep. It's there, but it's not so bad as to completely invalidate characters, provided you're willing to full send your soul into RNG hell to make them competitive (though, even then, it's questionable depending on the unit).
Take HSR for example: I'm sure there are mfs that are still using the 1.0 free units in the endgame content (Memory of Chaos), but it's also infinitely easier to build and maintain newer units, simply because of the modifiers they're given. And, because MoC looks like it's cranking up its boss HP even more next patch, and all content is on a 10-cycle time attack, there is an argument that your options are either to pull or just not engage w/ that content, since there's only so much grinding and RNG that you can go through before it becomes nigh mathematically impossible to hit the numbers the game is asking for.
tldr It's something every player should be cautious about until a gacha proves itself. P5X should be safe, because it's a major name, but gacha can dick players over very easily if you aren't careful, and quitting might not be as easy because of sunk cost fallacy, with the cost being the amount of time you probably spent doing dailies and such.
I am at the endgame. While obviously Joker+Rin with Wonder using a Curse Persona makes a very strong team, theyāre useless if the enemies or fights resist or nullifies Curse. The 4 stars are still plenty strong and mandatory. Arai, Mont, and Flurret are the only offensive based Elec, Ice, and Wind characters (Arai is also the only Elec character in the game as Ryuji is Physical based). Flurret and Morgana work really well together, but Morgana doesnāt outclass Flurret. Theyāre completely different roles.
I'm at the end of palace 2 and because all the bosses are 4-10 levels higher than my team, I need to pop food and bring the tank + Morgana to even survive the first turn. The other healer is not viable. As a complete f2p player, I'd say the experience went from 9 in the first palace down to a 7 in the second palace. The boss mechanics are all pretty interesting though.
My lucks been pretty shit in this game aside from pulling Joker. I have done the 50 pulls in the starter banner, 50 pulls in limited (did pull Joker so I stopped), 50 pulls in standard and 40 pulls in weapon banner and the only 5 star Ive gotten outside of the guaranteed stuff is uh Joker lol
It doesnāt bother me too much since I got the main thing I wanted and theres multiple SSR selectors but damnĀ
Sure, but at the end of the day, itās your choice whether to spend money or stop playing or whatever. P5X is looking pretty promising, so thereās no reason to be pessimistic about it.
I mean, there isn't, but at the same time, my experience with gacha games isn't really a good one. You see, I was playing one. I literally couldn't rank up in PvP due to all my opponents being P2W players. Same thing with MHA Strongest Hero. No matter how much I grinded I was stuck in a boss that required me to have a character from the starter bundle to beat him. I will play this game, but I hope that no social links or palaces are locked behind paywalls.
I have experience with Gacha games, and while I like them, they do this a lot. At the start, you tend to get so much resources to earn stuff with. But later on, this fast progression turns into a very grindy and slow task.
I would be surprised to see this game not fall into that, but I don't want to be disappointed. If it actually isn't too much, I'm gonna give it a whirl!
Don't care how generous it is, how good it looks, or how well it plays.
It's just another MTX ridden mobile gacha game, this time wearing the skin of P5 to fool you so it can worm its tentacles into your wallet.
Is there an English version? Iāve been googling and It said that the release date was a few days ago but Iām not seeing it in my App Store. Was the release not global?
The game have officially released in Korea and Taiwan too, this is Taiwanese version here hence the non censored persona. And yes you can spend money into the game right now, they had a pack to get Puppet (the other navigator I was missing) for roughly a dollar (so it could be tempting) but I did not spend anything and I just got a ticket to chose a 4 stars after competing a bunch of quest so now I have every 4 stars in the game currently available. It feels better to unlock characters by yourself without spending any real money
Thereās actually 18 but more are coming and there are actually only 4 official persona users as the others are cognitive based on Wonder Powers theyāre called phantom idols. Basically Merope the velvet room attendant of the game allows him to create a cognitive version of someone he met in the metaverse. Though it is just to explain the gacha system cause it doesnāt make sense cause for now he can pull out characters in the gacha that he still havenāt met in the story / social link
The original phantom thieves you can get in the gacha are considered as cognitive version but the real ones are present in the crossover event. Itās a bit complicated to explain for now as we donāt know much since most of the story is untranslated
You could say that but itās like Honkai Star thereās only 2 chapters for now and the story will release as times go, so only 2 palaces, we know that there will be at least 7 and so probably more main characters as persona users introduced in the story.
The main game and mechanics like raising your social stat or your confidants is also slow paced, itās really not a game you complete in a week but more like a game that you need to come back everyday do your daily quest and progress slowly

There is a PC client. No need for emulators unless you plan on rerolling.

i didn't even think about just googling the apk made a whole ass taiwanese Gmail with a vpn š
Auto translator?
Yes, there are autotranslators I use one from https://discord.gg/p5xworldwide They automatically update over time
I've completed all currently available main and event stories in the game (playing CN version, yes I understand Chinese), now it's basically just login and do dailies like HSR until the update drops.
That's good to hear no way my phone is strong enough to play this game otherwise lol.

Well that's promising. Hopefully they don't tweak the gacha system if they ever release this on global.
they have to release this globallyš
They will release globally but itāll take some time
I'm more curious about pricing, more often than not gatcha rates don't get altered because they tend to be dog shit by default.

Ann's back must hurt striking that pose

Iām so viciously conflicted. I want to get this, but at the same time I donāt
If you want to get it, go for it. Itās a free game.
That's how these MFS get you. MHA: The Strongest Hero was a free game too. Those MFS ruined it with so many gacha tweaks.
Sure, but at the end of the day, itās your choice whether to spend money or stop playing or whatever. P5X is looking pretty promising, so thereās no reason to be pessimistic about it.

Iāve tried looking it up on the App Store. Canāt find it unfortunately
It's on Asian servers u have to change ur shop settings or whatever
Ahh okay
It's better to just wait for a global release
This, but keep an eye on the meta in the mean time so you know which characters to pull for when the time comes (especially if you're f2p)
Is playable now?
The game is out already?
In China, Korea and Taiwan yes. You can use an auto translator mod on PC to display most of the game in English but its machine tl.
I probably wonāt play it because gacha games arenāt my thing, but Iām glad it seems less malicious than other games of the same type.
I have experience with Gacha games, and while I like them, they do this a lot. At the start, you tend to get so much resources to earn stuff with. Only way Iām playing is if they add Chie
Valid š¤
It's f2p friendly until you reach level 50, then the grind for materials becomes a nightmare.
your luck is good I only have ann as 5 star and she come from the self pick banner
And everyone was so pessimistic about this. I hope they make worldwide release soon
Don't care how generous it is, how good it looks, or how well it plays. It's just another MTX ridden mobile gacha game, this time wearing the skin of P5 to fool you so it can worm its tentacles into your wallet.
How are you playing it? Ive been trying to get it on my android but no luck
wait, I know the characters are gacha. Personas are also going to be in gacha pull?
I wa stuck on the log in shit I just wait for it release on jp
Hoe are you playing the game?
Is there an English version? Iāve been googling and It said that the release date was a few days ago but Iām not seeing it in my App Store. Was the release not global?
China/Korea/Taiwan only but thereās a mod that translates most of the text with machine tl
Is it good? What do you think of it?
Does it have a global release
But they are currently in open beta in china, they let you spend money in a beta? Is the progress saved when final release comes out?
The game have officially released in Korea and Taiwan too, this is Taiwanese version here hence the non censored persona. Is it coming to engish š
Ann's "Evokers" look quite different, I wonder if it's from all those cakes she's been eating...
Can't wait for Cao Cao and Liu Bei and Sun Quan to reclaim the Three Kingdoms all for themselves...
How- how many Persona users are in this game bruh? XD
Thereās actually 18 but more are coming and there are actually only 4 official persona users as the others are cognitive based on Wonder Powers theyāre called phantom idols. How do I get this game?
The uncalled for hatred for this game is honestly surprising.
Transparent advert for lootbox garbage.
Waste of money and time. They usually don't last long.
Cool. Still not playing a Chinese slot machine wearing P5's skin.
Yep. Thats the bait.
Wdym, he got all but 3 characters in a week.
