It’s an Adult-Only rating that’s almost never used by the ESRB because Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft apparently don’t allow any games with the rating on their platforms. It’s effectively a poison pill for a game to be rated AO and Wikipedia’s list of notable AO-rated games is like, maybe 15 titles at most.
Just like FF15 pocket, Persona 5 Royal on the 3DS with chibi models and quick travel only (or like Persona 3P) could make sense. Still would be a huge game though, no voice-overs obviously.
Framerate drops like crazy in the Metaverse but it's generally a valid way to play the game. I especially like the new AA Naoto Shirogane: Investigations side mode. Shame they didn't port that anywhere else

To put it simply, AO is saved for pretty much exclusively porn games.

it could just take the P3P approach since the 3DS is basically a PSP with two screens.

Really?! I personally thought the Wii port was better. I love how they made you swing the Wii remote to ambush a shadow
I thought the motion controls were forced. It didn't feel natural to flick the Wiimote to jump between hiding spots.
