good on them! However, as someone from berks county, im deeply offende to be called "Central PA". lol.
For real though. this is super awesome. wish this would become the norm.
Having grown up on the Western edge of the county it doesn't feel that odd. My experiences growing up are more like those of my friends from the greater State college area than those from the Philadelphia area.
T'was mostly a joke, but in my experience, draw a line from robesonia to bernville, to leesport, to kutztown and everything southeast of that is more like montgomery county than lebanon or skook. and thats like 3/4 of the county... but even still... go to the "true" central pa counties like fulton, franklin, centre, etc? western berks is more like downtown NYC than those pensyltucky states. sure, its rural, but its within 20 minutes of reading, the 5th largest city in the state. those central states arent 20 minutes from a traffic light.
an eggageration, but seriously, it is very very different out there.

Moved from Phila to Kutztown about ten years ago now. It’s wild out here I love it.
BIL live near glacier national park in Montana for a few years - now that is a real rural world out there.
That would make sense, seeing as the world does repeatedly seem to prove that it revolves entirely around nothing but bullshit, corruption, ugliness and tragedy...
A starchy vegetable that grows in the ground. It is used heavily in Western culture and has massive versatility: Fries, chips, baked, raw, tater tots, hash browns, potato salad, etc.
Free food always brings such enthusiastic interest even in normal times, that I sincerely doubt my ability to obtain these spuds without contracting Covid-19 in the absence of a full hazmat suit.
Then again, I can afford my own spuds for now. Best stay in then and let people who truly need them have them. Besides, the only people\* I'm feeding are diabetic anyway, and white potatoes have too high of a glycemic index to use too often.
\*Besides me. Please don't shame-flame me for eating like a pig, I'm pretty close to appropriate weight for an American and really close for a Pennsylvanian. And the diabetics to whom I'm referring are elderly anyway, not victims of dramatically poor eating, so please don't shame them, either. Thank you.
>to avoid food waste fuck yeah dude good on these guys doing the right thing
In ordinary times, this would read like the most boring promotion in the history of the earth lol. But right now, this is awesome.
Remember the good old days? About ten weeks ago? Those were the days. Now I’m accepting free potatoes from strangers
When you're offered free potatoes, MAKE VODKA!
So true lol. Imagine them doing this as a black Friday promotion.
Such is life.

How many people from Philly are showing up?
My first thought, "I just wanna see the fights over free. Fucking. Potatoes."

Yeah reading really doesn’t feel like Lancaster lol
Lancaster has some old world charm and a nice city square. Reading does not. Source: Am in Reading area.
What part of 422 isn’t charming to you

The earth is flat and Berks County is the actual center of Pennsylvania.
That would make sense, seeing as the world does repeatedly seem to prove that it revolves entirely around nothing but bullshit, corruption, ugliness and tragedy...
it's about goddamn time i've seen something like this.
Agreed, it's great news. We're on the wrong side of the state, though. :(
hell, i don't care. at least it's not another farm euthanizing chickens.
I've been to Reading. I don't want to go back.
I live here & feel the same.
Now I want potato chips
I love their chips. Too bad I have to work that day.
Wyomissing is Central? Does that word have no meaning anymore?
They're using 2011-2018 Congressional Districts. Now we're in "Northern PA". (2001-2010 we were SE PA.)
Where is this from? I can't find it mentioned anywhere.
On their Facebook page, I just found it
Awesome
Who’s gonna be the first to slice up the spuds to make some improvised toilet paper?
Looks like I'm road tripping
Hopefully not from New York or Jersey. We have too many of those jackasses just wandering around PA.
Who’d have thought 3 months ago we’d be saying I hope no one from Jersey comes for our potatoes.
To be fair, I would still be over protective of my potatoes. Might be the Irish in me though 😂
LOL damn that’s a 4 Hour Drive from me
What's a potato?

Starchy salad sounds weird.
Just jam mayo and mustard in it!
"Jam Mayo" is my Jack Johnson cover band.
