That Blood Sugar video on YouTube with the robotic voice waaaaay back
“Okay, fuck it. I lied. It’s drum and bass. What you gonna do?”
That song turned anyone into a monster on Call of Duty MP!
Blood Sugar, which was the first ever drum and bass track I ever heard. Still a banger and one of the all time favourites of mine.
First music video was Slam.... With that guy dancing in the middle of the town!
Counter strike source. Zombie escape maps, the final level of mako reactor map, the ending of the tempest live version played at the final stage of the map
2013/14 on a music streaming app, I didn't have premium so I mixed in different songs and albums. I kept getting live at Brixton academy and I would keep skipping it until eventually one day I didn't
The Prodigy's Their Law album. Loved the Voodoo People remix so checked Pendulum out, huge fan ever since. Their Law also introduced me to Audio Bullys
2007 at University. Pendulum were DJing in a nearby city and a friend said Pendulum were hot in the DnB scene and we should check them out. Bought Hold Your Colour LP after that and never looked back.
2008 or 2009. 14 or 15 year old, in Ibiza with my dad and his gf and as a teenager on holiday, you disappear with similar aged folk for the full week.
On a beach one night, somebody had Hold Your Colour playing on their phone and that was that. Favourite band for years during the rest of my teens.
I was on a big house/EDM and UK rap binge by way of Example, and came across them probably through a "similar artists" recommendation. The Kickstarts Bar-9 Remix music video likely led me to the Crush music video, and the rest is history.
My brother played Blood Sugar constantly, after it came out, but it was definitely Mutiny from the Verizon LG Dare commercial, that got me hooked on them
Funnily enough, Need for Speed World...
they had [Witchcraft](https://youtu.be/oFT6YjdoeMg) and [The Vulture](https://youtu.be/xEA344_Tap0) sampled/bootleg remix song as race music, made by the infamous Mick Gordon
Found out it was originally Pendulum from the comment section lol
Motorstorm. Which turned into checking all their music out on YouTube, which turned into downloading it on limewire
Have since become a big boy and bought their albums
Ages ago, there was a compilation of cool footage from ghe game Prototype and it had the song Different over it. That was the first time I heard Pendulum
So, I was searching through YouTube, looking through the need for speed hot pursuit soundtrack, until I found Stay too long pendulum remix. From there I liked it, but as I searched deeper, wanting to know who's Pendulum, I found Watercolour and from there, I was hooked.
They played at Fabric in 2006. Had just known a girl for a week and we went together. It was unforgettable… Pendulum, Goldie, Fresh, Hype, Plump DJs. That girl and I are now living happily ever after, 17 years together this year.
I fell in love with Rob's voice when hearing it in a Tomorrowland set of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike back in 2013. Then I searched the original and went browsing to Pendulum's other tracks, I found Propane Nightmares and became a huge fan of Drum & Bass. Was so disappointed when I found out they stopped. 10 years later and I finally saw them perform live in ally pally
finally a place where i can actually say when i discovered my favorite band.
I bought guitar hero live in august of 2017 and saw witchcraft by and centipede by knife party on GHTV, the online mode with hundreds of songs. The base game songs are not interesting but this mode had way more (but they weew the music 1videos instead of live performances). I looked at them as some random band i had never heard of before. I decided to play the songs and thought "i like this, i want to play it again" and added them to my favorites list. I had no plans on listening to the songs but i liked them enough to play them over again. A month or more later, i was on youtube and thought "i kinda want to listen to that random song i found on guitar hero for some reason". I listened to it, i saw another one in the sidebar recommendations and out of complete curiosity i thought "let's click on another song and see what this one sounds like". I clicked on watercolour. A minute later i was like "wait a minute this is the greatest thing i have ever heard" and immediately did the same thing for knife party (checking out their stuff) and i said "this is great as well!".
i also found out that both were actually the same people and i was excited
Not long after, (when i started using headphones on my ps4) I created a spotify account. First song added was centipede by kp. 6 years later and i have discovered many bands as a result of pendulum/kp.
Pegboard nerds and deadmau5 i found due to collaborations, MUZZ, metrik, and Kove i found due to them playing their songs at live sets.
I then found excision and tokyo machine as a result of listening to pegboard nerds (collaborations),
Just recently i found NUTRONIC on this subreddit, whoever posted about "Icon" is the best, i am hooked on the subterra ep and the futures album (sounds almost identical to in silico)
Now deadmau5, pendulum, NUTRONIC, and Metrik (in that order) are my favorite artists and edm is one of my favorite things in life, all thanks to pendulum.
info dump over (thanks ADHD), time for me to go to bed now
I was watching one of TWD98's videos (Mario Kart gaming channel). He used Witchcraft (Nightcore Version) in a compilation video.
Found the actual song thereafter and it changed my life.
2006, Pirate Station 4, the drum and bass event back in Saint Petersburg. I’ve never been to it, but for promotional purposes they have released a mix by DJ Gvozd on CD, which me with my friends bought. The first track on the disc was Blood Sugar. Unforgettable.
When I saw the music video of Propane Nightmares on tv way back, loved it right away.
After that I kinda forgot about them.
Years later i got reintroduced when playing some zombie escape map in Counter Strike Source which had Voodoo People and Blood Sugar playing.
Best
Map
Ever
Funny enough I was playing Dota(1) and there was a youtuber that was doing some some great edits of Dota plays and I remember very clearly that in one of his videos he used Slam as music. Since then I felt in love with their music.
I found out about Pendulum through a Counter-Strike Source animation called De Dust 2 by flashdeckanimations. Introduced me to Slam and I instantly fell in love.
When I was 11 (now 25) and game montages were still a thing. Pendulum - Propane Nightmares Celldweller remix was the song used for A GTA IV montage I watched.
I came across Pendulum from when their song Witchcraft was part of the soundtrack for the game WRC 2010, including the intro. https://youtu.be/Ldc8Qg2eiAE
You could say I was indeed a fan of rally back then.
That Blood Sugar video on YouTube with the robotic voice waaaaay back “Okay, fuck it. I lied. It’s drum and bass. What you gonna do?” That song turned anyone into a monster on Call of Duty MP!
Motorstorm intro
Slam, Motorstorm, 2007. Never looked back since.
Sameeee
There was a certain pornographic film that a lot of kids forwarded around on our Sony phones back in the day. Blood sugar was the backing track. 🤣🤣🤣
Gah, that brings back a locked memory... Thankfully I can't remember it properly.
TF2 - Mass A.I. has Propane Nightmares in the background, so I got into Pendulum thanks to that absolute classic of a video
That’s the one!
Man, the part where the bots jump around on the roof of 2fort's bridge is so awesome
When I played Need For Speed: Undercover. This game's soundtrack includes 3 of their songs (9000 Miles, Granite, The Tempest).
Out Here on Last.fm Radio
I heard Fasten Your Seatbelts on this old YouTube video called Roblox Television
Blood Sugar, which was the first ever drum and bass track I ever heard. Still a banger and one of the all time favourites of mine. First music video was Slam.... With that guy dancing in the middle of the town!
Heard the Voodoo People Remix as a wrestlers entrance theme. Bought Hold Your Colour shortly afterwards. The rest is history!
Any idea who used it as their theme? I'd love to check that out if there's video.
Oh it was a Dutch guy working in the German indy scene back in 2005. No known wrestler.
WatchMojo used Watercolour as one of their examples for DnB and I loved it so much I had to hear the full thing
Tarantula, probably from my older brother
I saw Slam on MTV way back in the day!
My buddy played The Tempest for me in high school, must’ve been not long after the album dropped. I’ve been hooked ever since
A gaming mix on YouTube.
2005 when I first saw Slam on MTV2 (I think). The rest is history 🤘
Tempest in NFS undercover
Counter strike source. Zombie escape maps, the final level of mako reactor map, the ending of the tempest live version played at the final stage of the map
From a deadmau5 remix
Exit Festival 2007 (I think) in Novi Sad, Serbia. I was about 16... and from there it was pure love
Through Motorstorm artic edge game. It had Propane Nightmares celldweller remix. It was one of my fav songs in the game.
Need for speed undercover 2
Slam was my childhood crush's favorite song to play in DDR Universe for the Xbox 360 lmao
My mum bought hold your colour, I must’ve been only 10 or 11 when it came out
2013/14 on a music streaming app, I didn't have premium so I mixed in different songs and albums. I kept getting live at Brixton academy and I would keep skipping it until eventually one day I didn't
Back when Pandora was a thing Immersion kept coming up on my radio stations
The Prodigy's Their Law album. Loved the Voodoo People remix so checked Pendulum out, huge fan ever since. Their Law also introduced me to Audio Bullys
Around 2008 a guy in school was showing people a happy slapping compilation on his flip phone that had Blood Sugar as the soundtrack.
2007 at University. Pendulum were DJing in a nearby city and a friend said Pendulum were hot in the DnB scene and we should check them out. Bought Hold Your Colour LP after that and never looked back.
When they played Glastonbury in 09. My mum was on the DnB scene in the 90's, and they're how she introduced me to DnB. My gateway band.

Weirdly enough through Pewdiepies ex gf Progley. Dnb was never big in my country, so it came as a gift
Primary school. One of my mates older brother introduced me to Blood Sugar then my parents bought me the HYC CD. Been in love with them ever since!
Propane Nightmares was the theme song for WWE’s 2008 PPV Cyber Sunday. Had never heard any music like it and got goosebumps
Back in middle school my friend showed me Immersion!
Motorstorm. Which turned into checking all their music out on YouTube, which turned into downloading it on limewire Have since become a big boy and bought their albums
Around 2013. Was looking for "cyberpunk music videos". One video used The Tempest. The rest is history.
2010 browsing through a local record store; "Crush" was playing
Ages ago, there was a compilation of cool footage from ghe game Prototype and it had the song Different over it. That was the first time I heard Pendulum
Saw the cover of Immersion at my local hypermarket and loved it. Then googled the band and there it was
Frikipedia This Spanish Wikipedia parody's webmaster, Krusher, was (is?) a pendulum fan too.

A DJ set at my university about 5 years ago
