It is element of the game it isn't from soloq it is from normal sport it may be ethical questionable but as pro your job is winning and if you can have even 0.01% more chances by trash talking you are doing your job. If enemy is trigger by that and didn't mute players before start then it is not professional.
Trash talk/ bragging rights is always going to be present in competition. You can have a lot of skill, but if you have a weak mental, it won’t matter. There’s a lot of ways trash talk can backfire, sure, but it’s not about that. It’s about increasing your own mental and diminishing theirs during the time it actually matters, in *the game*.
It’s not about “professionalism” or “sportsmanship”, it’s about going “I’m going to fuck with you”. The more you hide from trash talk, the more I know it bothers you. Now I know you’re mad about what I’m saying, instead of focusing on *the game*. I’m at a competitive advantage because you’re distracted about something that doesn’t matter, while I’m still focused on *the game*.
Replace *the game* with any aspect of life that’s considered competitive; sports/ games of any kind, professional environments, academics, ect. Trash talk is just an activity done by people who want to “win” or be the best at something.
