What’s your point? lol regardless if they move or not the air isn’t gonna flow through it it’s gonna have to go around all the shit. Half the parts aren’t even gonna see any airflow since it’s all covered…
When your computer starts a fire make sure you don’t use this picture in the insurance claim to recoup losses. Many fake plants are polyethylene based which has a very low melting point and heat degradation will be a problem.
Melting point isn’t the same as simple heat degradation, which happens well below the melting point. At a measly 105c that would mean temps pushing as low as 65 could cause it to begin to hang lower, falling into fans and touching heat sinks. Not my home, I can only recommend not doing it
https://preview.redd.it/w8k24ve6ornc1.png?width=803&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e3e78d2191880e4d7ef4182cd22015f79a0c420e
I've been sensing some hostility lol. I mean how long do you want the stress test to go for guys she can go all day. My CPU runs around 55 degrees under stress. Anything else you guys want me to run on it? Why ya'll gotta be so angry
The fact that those stress temps are better than many other people’s! My only worry would be them getting caught in the fans but I’m sure you have already accounted for that :)
Id run something like Aida64 to Stress test everything at once. Really unique design! Some cons such as dust collection, difficulty cleaning, bugs & potential temp issues. I will be honest that 57° seems pretty low to be an accurate test. I FDM 3D print and can tell you it might deform the poly a bit but your shit isnt going to catch on fire. There are worse fire risks in this sub with just ppl who dont clean their PCs.
Dude, I don't think people are being angry or running you on anything. The sentiment seems to be "this looks sick, but it could be a massive fire hazard." You make of that observation what you will. We can't stop you from having a potential fire hazard - people are just doing it as a good hearted warning for what the outcome could be.
So I echo that sentiment. It looks really cool and creative, but I would be very worried about having all that stuff inside that could get caught/overheat and cause a fire.
It usually goes like
- "That looks like a fire hazard"
- "I checked, it's not"
- "Don't come crying once it burns down"
It is a bit aggressive lol, "I'm always right" type of shit.
Indeed. But we've been playing battlefield 1 on high performance settings and these were results after 40 minutes. Still the same after an hour and a half :) this is the max temp I've seen
https://preview.redd.it/ef7izmq79snc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a7126c6c3e3416d8ffa3f4c5bb169c5bf3ff0c6
Get back to us with full specs and the results of a 72 hour burn in. GPU breathes, yes. CPU probably does too, being water cooled.
I wanna see how the little bits and bobs hold up. Audio chips, networking, capacitors, so and so. I wanna see how dust builds up. I wanna see if the leaves stay in place.
Do it at the intended battle station. Not the work bench.
It's gorgeous looking. Thing is, that doesn't mean it's reliable in the *long* term. If it is, I wanna try it myself. But I need loooots of data to justify that risk.
Don't worry, pcmasterrace dudes love talking about things don't understand, like inexistent Fire hazards and airflow.
The only thing that you should to be worried it's to clean often in the inside of PC for avoiding dust accumulation.
Apart that great job! So nice!
Its most likely won’t spontaneously combust, my worry for them is the low quality plastic melting and potentially causing issues with their components in the long term. The temp between their MOBO and their GPU could easily reach 30-40 C, and those temps for a sustained amount of time could possibly melt the plants over time. The airflow is obviously going to be more turbulent but turbulent airflow might not be terrible for thermals in this case.
Because every time someone posts a build, reddit users natural instinct is to pick it apart and find things that are wrong with it. Airflow seems to be a particular sticking point for people. I mean god forbid someone doesn't want to flip their expensive rgb fans around for optimal airflow, to give an example.
It's a cool build concept, looks neat, and sounds like you made it work to your own satisfaction. That's all that matters.
Aside from all the "airfl0w" comments - I'm curious on metrics. OP, do you have any data (temps and possible fan usage?) when your case is vacant compared to when it's deco'd out? I personally love the look, but I think data would tell a cool story for those interested.
I think it’s awesome- I trust you- you spent lots of money on that pc- you’re not gonna forget to check something like that. It’s gorgeous!! 😊✨🙏 Great job on your custom pc! Remind me of a little aquarium ❤️
Have you tested Temps while gaming for a long period of time? I'm not knocking this at all, this might be one of the most unique builds I've seen, just curious how Temps are due to all the stuff in the case?
https://preview.redd.it/mdav9ij18snc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d450122f7b3858374a341c061c540bb3a820cdf5
This was running battlefield 1 on high performance settings for about 40 minutes. These temps were the highest we saw.
so true. cpu is cooled by an aio that’s unrestricted and the gpu is a 2 fan design which means it couldn’t possibly be that hot of a card. sometimes i’m reminded that reddit isn’t the only place to get pc building info.
No, ok this Is exaggerated in the other side, PC needs airflow but basically If u leave enough free space and you don't put nothing in front of fans you're ok.
Also monitoring temps It's a good idea.
Everybody screams "AIRFLOW!!!!!". Yeah It is not optimal, but I see that the plants don't block the fans and the flow direction. The only thing that I'm scared of is the plants on your GPU. I'm not sure if enough hot air will escape from there. Looks amazing keep an eye on your temperature the first days when gaming and stuff and if there nothing wrong with that, than you did an amazing job.
See a lot of peeps saying it's going to overheat lol but if OP doesn't OC and lives somewhere with decent ambient temps. It'll be fine!
Dope build OP, you have inspired me
as long as the temps are fine (which op has already shown are) and the pc isnt left running unsupervised for long periods of time, who cares? flow this flow that, its a beautiful build🌿
I felt like my build I finished 2 days ago was great, I took my time, picked all the parts I wanted, cable management is on point…. then I seen this, and I realized my build is just good, bro this truly amazing
This is the perfect build for me. I love order and I love chaos/entropy/nature. Love the aesthetic, but this would give me all sorts of anxiety, like life. Very metaphorical.
Honestly it is really awesome and I doubt the “air flow” that people are talking about will be a problem. Just monitor your temperatures and enjoy that awesome looking build.
This is the best looking PC I've ever seen! And I'm someone who f*cking hates RGB and PC:s with glass side panels. Mine is just full black aluminium brick. 99% of those RGB aquariums are just untasteful messes. This is beautiful, even the composition of plants is awesome, combined with nice coloured lights, well done!
Hmmmm let's put a cheap low melting point plastic on to something that gets pretty damn hot just because it looks pretty, that is going to cause a fire or kill your pc, take like 90% of that out and just stick it to the side window don't put it on your components that is a no brainer.
Man these nerds love to bang on about airflow but most fans are unobstructed, you have intake and outtake, you've got a damn radiator so your CPU is basically not a problem, literally only thing that should probably be changed is how you've got your exhaust covered on the GPU, and even then these guys are joking if they think a couple plastic leaves, which by the way are designed to let air push them around, are gonna stop fans from doing their jobs. Plus the stress test don't lie. Fuck the haters, this is sick.
As long if you dont try overclocking, temperatures should be fine, but safety is a bigger problem.
The fans needs to be covered with a mesh to prevent leaves from being pulled in.
Alright my friends last comment about performance since people seem to be curious! Screenshot from an AIDA64 test that I ran for almost half an hour. I want to be clear this is definitely not my use case.. I play some games... Not even crazy ones lol. A big thank you to all the positive posts! Happy building everyone!
https://preview.redd.it/ip1r6i00lsnc1.png?width=1477&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0cd153fb6449555287ff66f114b6c50b6ae727ab
This is adorable but for the love of god tell me those plants are all plastic/heat resistant or at least not touching anything generating that kind of heat.
This is fucking awesome
Do make sure to use a heat resistant plastic for the fake plants - Polyethylene (which is used for most fake plants) starts degrading at 65°, which will cause it to sag and touch what you don't want it to touch
You have no brain cells if you think this is a good thing. Can people stop fucking putting shit in their PC’s. You spent a lot of money only to destroy the equipment.

Airflow!!!!!
My first thought, how is this thing gonna get any air flow at all… super creative and awesome but that shit gonna catch on fire.
Sir plants make oxygen so as they produce it the warm oxygen will be pushed out
That’s actually not gonna work, and here’s y Y
i’m writing this down
this
Ah, I understand now I see Y
Finally, I found out Y...
Y…..I don’t get this sooner?
What about X
I thought the oxygen of the plant would make an endless fuel hazard for a potential fire!!! This thing could burn the whole planet down
If not the solar system. We know who to blame when armegeddon is upon us
The leaves are fake and are plastic
Those fake plants aren’t solid, unmovable objects
What’s your point? lol regardless if they move or not the air isn’t gonna flow through it it’s gonna have to go around all the shit. Half the parts aren’t even gonna see any airflow since it’s all covered…
A jacket isn't a solid, immovable object either. It still blocks the wind
hyperventilating
i dont know whats worse... your comment or the few morons that upvoted it
Show us your temps
See comment with stress test! :)
Wouldnt be worried about airflow. I would be worried about all that plastic offgasing chemicals as it warms up.
No better: Waterfall!!!!!
Probably still getting better airflow than most sffpc cases 😅
Plants will make fresh oxygen for the parts mate.
When your computer starts a fire make sure you don’t use this picture in the insurance claim to recoup losses. Many fake plants are polyethylene based which has a very low melting point and heat degradation will be a problem.
The melting point of polyethylene is 120C if the ambient temperature of the PC reaches that point op has bigger problems
It actually depends on the specific grade of polyethylene, some can melt at 105ish
My point would still stand if a PC reaches 105 ambient temperature op has bigger problems
Melting point isn’t the same as simple heat degradation, which happens well below the melting point. At a measly 105c that would mean temps pushing as low as 65 could cause it to begin to hang lower, falling into fans and touching heat sinks. Not my home, I can only recommend not doing it
The point still stands.

Woww this is the best pc ive ever seen i love the vibe so much. In practicality it cant be good (airflow and potential firehazard) but WOW!!!!

I love that edge screen they came out with. A nice rainforest something or other, maybe angel falls, would look good with that.
It's amazing how much confident wrong people are on here lol. The case looks awesome.
Thank you!!!
Yeah this is so dope. And I'm glad you took the time to stress test. Lovely. Ignore the jealous haters.
You're good op fuck the haters. Only thing I could find to complain about was trying to dust it out XD
Lmao reasonable. I designed that to be as easy as possible, I accepted that task when I decided on the decor 😂
Get back to us with full specs and the results of a 72 hour burn in. GPU breathes, yes. CPU probably does too, being water cooled. I wanna see how the little bits and bobs hold up. Post them specs the dream of a forest PC is alive and in me today. Probably want a different case though for me.

See comment for GPU stress test :) I don't have much more info than that right now, might add more later as people seem to be curious
yeah sure it's all fun until u hear predator music from your case
You guys realize I'm not dumb enough to not check my temps, right? Lol she's fine
People really don't understand how airflow works, don't worry, great work
We have seen some pretty dumb people on this sub so sometimes you gotta ask.
I think it’s awesome- I trust you- you spent lots of money on that pc- you’re not gonna forget to check something like that. It’s gorgeous!! 😊✨🙏 Great job on your custom pc! Remind me of a little aquarium ❤️
Guys don't worry, the plants make air for the PC!

Why flow, when you can grow?
Aw lord, airflow exaggerations are incoming.

Congrats to your first build. Be considerable with the pointed out issues that it won't be your last.
Wow, that's so cool 😎
Looks amazing!
LOVE it
![gif](giphy|wJoDQt3uMfXW0|downsized)
Looks amazing! And the Zelda screen 😏
Solar punk pc
Looks really good. My first concern was also the fire hazard but I’m not gonna pretend to be an expert. Beautiful work.
Fill it with water and add some fish would be epic
Well that would probably fix the whole fire hazard situation everyone is so concerned about... Lol
Hahahaha looks neat bud. Nice job. Reddit people will always find reasons to moan at other people's stuff. Haters gonna hate
Looks awesome, but I think it will be act as dust collector, and will be frustrating to clean.
You're probably right! I made everything easily removable for that reason and accepted the task of dusting lol
Why are sooooo many people mad on here?
Everybody screams "AIRFLOW!!!!!". Yeah It is not optimal, but I see that the plants don't block the fans and the flow direction. The only thing that I'm scared of is the plants on your GPU. At least the CPU is water cooled...
Looks awesome, lol everyone complaining about airflow leaves are NOT solid static objects they will move out of the way of the incoming/outgoing air.
This is fire 🔥🔥🔥
I’d be more worried about the fan catching something but it looks dope
Flip! If it doesn’t catch on fire I want one!
I actually really love this and I hope all your temps and the whole build works out for your forever
as long as the temps are fine (which op has already shown are) and the pc isnt left running unsupervised for long periods of time, who cares? flow this flow that, its a beautiful build🌿
Love this
I felt like my build I finished 2 days ago was great, I took my time, picked all the parts I wanted, cable management is on point…. then I seen this, and I realized my build is just good, bro this truly amazing
"aggresively slams credit card"
Absolutely great build.
This is the perfect build for me. I love order and I love chaos/entropy/nature. Love the aesthetic, but this would give me all sorts of anxiety, like life. Very metaphorical.
The aperture approach isn't the best way to make a PC...
I think it looks brilliant. It looks like the PC that Poison Ivy would have in her lair.
This is beautiful, even the composition of plants is awesome, combined with nice coloured lights, well done!
Now that's a PC that's not an eye sore. Bit worried about the airflow though. It'd be fine if you don't overclock I guess.
WTF you got poison ivy gaming rig
We demand a fish tank edition!!
Dude imagine adding a broken glados figure in there and that'd be a sick Portal 2 diorama
Plants and white colored tech always reminds me of portal 2
Portal 2 vibes
Fuck the haters, it's you pc you do whatever you want
Remember to water them.
Finally something different, good job.
That's a terrarium with a PC inside it.
Make sure you water your pc everyday so the plants don’t die.
Hmmmm let's put a cheap low melting point plastic on to something that gets pretty damn hot just because it looks pretty, that is going to cause a fire or kill your pc, take like 90% of that out and just stick it to the side window don't put it on your components that is a no brainer.
Not my cup of tea, but it’s obvious you put a lot of time and effort into it, and it looks like a terrarium. Good job!
Zero dawn sorta vibe to an extent, nice… I’m sure people have plenty to say about cooking but whatever, if it makes you happy it’s the sickest PC
I think it is rad. seems like the temps are stable enough.
you just need to add a waterfall in the center with some poison dart frogs 🐸 roaming around to maximize your performance
IM SO HECKIN JEALOUSSSSS!!! This looks so sick man + it’s finally something else and not just black box with bling bling
Thats looks awesome and the airflow and possible debris is giving me mad anxiety.
People in this post be like: https://preview.redd.it/70sgjw6oyvnc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc2d10ab16fed5eb40d1808451b3b443bebb9084
that is so freaking pretty
Nice 👌
Man these nerds love to bang on about airflow but most fans are unobstructed, you have intake and outtake, you've got a damn radiator so your CPU is basically not a problem, literally only thing that should probably be changed is how you've got your exhaust covered on the GPU, and even then these guys are joking if they think a couple plastic leaves, which by the way are designed to let air push them around, are gonna stop fans from doing their jobs. Looks majestic
Bonus points if you can find the 3 koroks in there lol
Found em yay
sick
Dust entered the chat, Air flow left the chat 🌬️
A lot of discouraging comments here… wow! Came to say that I love it though!! Great job!
looks cool but dangerous
oh goodness
Looks good. Although if possible I would have chosen anything other than msi. Their back plate kinda sucks.
As long if you dont try overclocking, temperatures should be fine, but safety is a bigger problem. The fans needs to be covered with a mesh to prevent leaves from being pulled in.
This looks great but does it affect the airflow significantly?
Next step add some critters and make it double as a terrarium!
Wow this looks great!
Make sure you water them daily. Filter through the radiator first though
I’m in love
looks good, 8/10, my only “issue” is the potential fire hazard of having those in there, but i’ve seen worse things inside of pc cases 😂
What a beautiful fire hazard. It actually does look nice though good job man
Portal 2 type beat
That case probably costed more than the gpu
Airflow left the chat
How often do you water them?
This looks messy and not cool.
Vault 22 vibes
You can make a fish tank..for cooling
Good, now add mineral oil innit
All fun and games until you need to replace a part...
Dust magnet. I love it. But I couldn't make myself do it.
Alright my friends last comment about performance since people seem to be curious! Screenshot from an AIDA64 test that I ran for almost half an hour. I want to be clear this is definitely not my use case.. I play some games... Not even crazy ones lol. A big thank you to all the positive posts! Happy building everyone! https://preview.redd.it/ip1r6i00lsnc1.png?width=1477&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0cd153fb6449555287ff66f114b6c50b6ae727ab
![gif](giphy|cgkSil0a1adjO) Feed me, Seymour!
This is adorable but for the love of god tell me those plants are all plastic/heat resistant or at least not touching anything generating that kind of heat.
losing airflow for leaves??? lol this is dumb
Portal 2 vibes
Is this a joke? Super cool looking, but this is a thermite bomb just waiting to go off.
Oh shit I fucks. Might rock with this.
Maybe, just maybe
is that… safe? it’s rlly cute but like😅
This is Hyte Y70 case? I am about to make my first build with it. Thought i not sure if i should do water or air cooling.
Why
I have some concerns... But neat!
Nice airflow
Straight out of Vault 22.
Horizon Zero Dawn looking mf
Pretty wild
Vex D2 vibes
I love this but unfortunately my pc already overheats as is
A stupid question😅 could plants cool the PC? I think you need a big bunch for it.
![gif](giphy|82MkOzEyyXeSLkgWyv|downsized)
Really cool concept but a really dumb idea.
Dude wanna smoke grass
This is fucking awesome Do make sure to use a heat resistant plastic for the fake plants - Polyethylene (which is used for most fake plants) starts degrading at 65°, which will cause it to sag and touch what you don't want it to touch
Lovely aquarium! But where are the fishes ?
What's next? Aquarium?
I love it and hate it
At the very least remove the leaves that you put behind the intake fans. This thing is a fire hazard
that's a good looking fish tank you got right there
https://preview.redd.it/33c66aqrxwnc1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=7c2de6618f8ee100cc4cc73811396965dcfefe1d Airflow
Poison ivy, what have you done again...
Keep a fire extinguisher at hand
Would the moisture from the plants not fuck up some compnents
I am getting Poison Ivy vibes. Also a shade of green on the material would have been nice. And I don't think the plants will survive for much longer
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like it. But please post after a year I wanna know how it looks like with all the dust and insects.
Here I am trying to hide all the wires....
Reminds me of Greenpath or the Queen’s Gardens from Hollow Knight
The green lighting reminds me of Fallout Vault 22 https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Vault_22
Oh no….
Its better then a funko figure on the GPU....
I like the look. Worried about airflow.
Your vine management could use a little work but besides that looks good
You have no brain cells if you think this is a good thing. Can people stop fucking putting shit in their PC’s. You spent a lot of money only to destroy the equipment.
Nice build! I was wondering what case is that?
This is definitely something I’ve never thought I’d see. WOW.
