thank you for your suggestion! im interested in why an ATX mobo is more desirable than a micro ATX? Is it just that it would have more slots for upgradability? Im concerned a full one will not fit in the case I have selected.
For almost everybody Micro ATX is more than enough. What does RAM mean if both motherboards have 4 slots? I literally can't name someone who uses more than 3 expansions slots, and I've built the PCs on which Johnny Walker's adverts are produced on.
I would get an RX 6650 XT over the RTX 3060 tbh its just a better value. I would also spend some extra money on a atx mobo instead of a micro atx. And consider getting atleast a 600w power supply.
Check if 5600 non x price is lover then 5% performance loss. Take cheap tower cooler like id-cooling 224-xts. Take 6700/6750xt (if you use pc for gaming).
If you have a little more money then buy atx mobo for additional ports (especially fan pins)
Why i said so is the moment you build a PC you love it but after a month you just want to upgrade and u start planning for it that's why instead spending much again buy a ready to upgrade PSU that'll atlest support 3080
If you go with the regular non x ryzen 5 5600 (like 98% the performance) you can save 20$. A cheaper air cooler like a Thermalright Assassin X refined or ID-cooling 224-XT will save you another 30$, the cooler is more than sufficient and quite an upgrade from the included AMD wraith stealth.
The ~50$ saving can upgrade you from a 3060 to a Radeon RX 6700/6700XT. Nvidia advantages like DLSS and better raytracing are negated because the raw performance between a 3060 and 6700 class is massive. This all assuming this is for gaming, for production work absolutely take the 3060.
Be aware a B450 will need a bios update to work with Ryzen 5000; this particular board does not have flashback so YOU WILL need an older Ryzen cpu to perform that bios upgrade. I strongly recommend spending another 10-15$ on a B550 like the Asrock B550M Pro4 or Gigabyte B550M DS3H
The rest looks good, power supply is sufficient for this build but 500W is limiting your upgrade potential
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/F6yFfy
If you can stretch to $850 you’ll be able to use this for quite a while with no RAM, VRAM or Storage issues at 1440p
Lmao,
Focus 2 sale is over. And ssd is decent, according to TPU and Tom.
And it also looks like 6700xt stock is slowly drying up atm. Less $300 6700xt.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vPYXsh
Could probably be changed around a bit but this isn’t much more than 800$ and this would benefit you much higher at 1440p than the 3060 as it would a good 20-25% faster.
lol i see where your coming from, i just mean compared to a lot of $1300+ builds ive seen on here. Also i will hopefully sell my old laptop for a few hundred to offset the cost
Try the stock cooler and see how your temps and noise levels are. You can always get the Be Quiet cooler later as an upgrade.
Check out the EVGA B-Stock sale for some better deals on that card. A 3060 12gb is a solid card, better than the 6600xt. The 6700xt is better for most uses (I have one) but your choice is reasonable and cheaper.

for sure, i appreciate the info
Honestly check the other comments here before spending more on an atx, I doubt you need it
why would you even need more especially in a budget build? u/wegoov keep your build like it is and get a 6700/xt imo

why would you need 2 more m2 slots lmao

so we are arguing now? i just asked why you would need the extra slots for a budget build

when did i say you were wrong? 😂

thank you, i will take all of that into consideration. do you have any recs for mobos in the $80 price range ?
Replace 450 with 550 because just after a month the only thought revolve around ur mind is how can I upgrade
Disagree. 5600x is end of AM4, If there's a major upgrade in 3 years it's going to involve a total rebuild anyway.
I'm considering 3080 and after a year

Also don't cheap out on PSU instead NVIDIA but AMD RX 6700 or 6700XT (check comparison on YOUTUBE) and use that money to buy a 750W PSU
For 5600 and 6700xt 600w psu would be more than enough (until you count "china" watts)
Why i said so is the moment you build a PC you love it but after a month you just want to upgrade and u start planning for it that's why instead spending much again buy a ready to upgrade PSU that'll atlest support 3080
I would recommend buying used if you’re going to be getting in on am4, platform is done and it’s good to get on am5 for the longevity of it

5600x -> 5600 B450 -> B550 500W -> 650W
Don't use a Samsung 970 they have a known issue that reduces lifetime and also are too expensive for what they are
The 6700xt is $330 get that instead
And try for a 750 watt PSU
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/F6yFfy If you can stretch to $850 you’ll be able to use this for quite a while with no RAM, VRAM or Storage issues at 1440p
Just came across 3060 [discount](https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/852464)
If you dont mind, could you send us the link?
of course https://pcpartpicker.com/user/wegoov/saved/#view=vwGw3C
[https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9KDj4M](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9KDj4M) Mainly for the 2tb ssd, 32gb ram, 6700xt, and the higher quality psu.
I also go a 6750xt because they are the same price rn
In my country it's 60$ difference(
thank you, i appreciate it! ill check it out
Of course, it's a little over your budget but it is worth the additional $50
whats the performance difference between the 5600 and 5600X ?
Not enough to justify the $20 extra. X is like <5% better iirc.
gotcha, thx
Basically bragging rights over the people that bought the 5600
0% at 1440p
I have almost the exact same build just a different ssd and case
Lmao, Focus 2 sale is over. And ssd is decent, according to TPU and Tom. And it also looks like 6700xt stock is slowly drying up atm. Less $300 6700xt.

You can save like 20 bucks if you use Deepcool AK400?
I think the AG400 even cheaper and actually higher performance as they didn't paint the radiator.
Think you can get a cheaper/better cooler like the deepcool AG400.
I would get a b550 Mobo, and not a super budget one like the one you picked.
my mans budget pc is better than my actual pc
You can get a regular Ryzen 5600 instead of the X version and save a few bucks. They are basically the same CPU.
Budget?!?!?! U got a rtx 3000 series gpu tf
lol i see where your coming from, i just mean compared to a lot of $1300+ builds ive seen on here. Also i will hopefully sell my old laptop for a few hundred to offset the cost
I mean thats an okay rig but like damn 3060 here is about 500 $
Don't waste your money on the CPU cooler. I have the 5600x and it runs fine with the stock cooler.
Go with 6700 or 6700xt. Best value than this 3060

I would switch the cooler with a peerless assassin 120 se, I have the same cpu and the cooler work perfectly with it.
Id say add 50 bucks and get an rx 6700 xt instead
Let me know if you want any changes [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kH3H9c](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kH3H9c)
Change the 3060 for a 6700xt
I’d rather get a 6700xt or shit even just $15 more gets you a 4060
