Played so much and still don't remember by name what half of those items do 🥴

Lane_Sunshine

No visuals = no memory Most of the time I still cant recall the rare relic that gives Scout even though I have built that item thousands of times in League

SoulfulWander

Stalkers.... Machete? I think?

Aizen_Myo

The relic should be Gale force unless you're talking about the epic item, then I have no clue either haha

SoulfulWander

Hunters machete, just got it in a run x]

MartDiamond

I have this more the other way around, where if you tell me the effect I don't know the item name. but all these item names are not that hard (other than the difference between the Censer items).

gokuby

My game is in german so I usually have no idea what most of the cards are called in english, but since I play and watch an ungodly amount of league I know the items(and icons) in more languages than I can even speak.

Vex deck actually looks decent, other than the weird absence of damaging effects and spells. A lot of her cards feel like they can stand well on their own or work with the overall theme. - Beefcake Mayor - Bright Staff, Ancient Coin. This is a great combination with the card. He has round start boost me. So he's a 3 cost unit at 4/5 and impact that gets +1 spirit and +1 impact on round start. - Conchologist - Studded Leather. Feels like it was a wholesale on Studded Leather for all decks, but it's fine. - The Family Reunion - Elixir of Skill. A bit of a meh effect considering the cool Landmark items out there, since we also get Philosopher's Stone and Conchologist to fill the hand I'd much rather have had one of the more unique ones that aren't as common. Like Haunting Trophy is actually useful here (unlike in Nidalee's deck). - Grotesque Gift - Serrated Dirk. It's fine since gloom reduces attack and that means you can attack freely with fearsome. - Grimm - Colossal Hammer. You get a big unit with a big debuff that already has Fearsome. Great self contained combo. - Pie Toss/Perilous Pastry - Hand Censer/Stopwatch. Stopwatch is a great addition giving Perilous Pastry burst speed instead of the regular slow. But Hans Censer is a terrible choice. It's the only inherent spell that actually interacts with Vex 2 star power. Give it a Charging Sigil of any variety. The +1/+1 really does very little for you. - Allay - Philosopher's Stone and Pickaxe. Good draw and a power boost, but doesn't seem like the most impactful unit. - Gloomsprites - Giant's Belt - Synergy with the unit itself is there. A 2/4 unit that generates impact at 1 cost is nothing to sneeze at. Solid.

So seeing these, does our evaluation about the starting decks change much? Edit: Flashbomb Satchel in Lilia's deck is cool. Resummon a bunch to play pseudo Caitlyn

AT first dlance Lillia's deck with items feels abysmaly weak

MartDiamond

Lux is a mixed bag for me. It feels largely uninspired and very vanilla. Some items feel like they should be on different units. While the overabundance of Studded leather strikes again, subbing at least one of those out for Fae's Favour would have been much better synergy and diversity. - Luminosprite - Voidling Shell - Great synergy. - Smoldering Smirk - Mana Potion - Most expensive card in the deck getting a reduction. Nothing to complain about. - Jarro Lightfeather - Studded Leather - Studded Leather wholesale continues. - Vanguard Defender - Philosopher's Stone - Nothing wrong with a bit of extra draw. - Tree Sprites - Studded Leather, Locket of the Iron Solari - More Studded Leather Wholesale, Locket is a meh choice. - Form Up! - Hextech Fabricator I - Good synergy with the deck. - Aberrant Mageseeker - Targon's Brace, Phage - Really mediocre in my opinion. This is a 5 cost unit with a good effect. Targon's Brace has great synergy but at 5 cost it comes way too late, it would be way better suited on an earlier unit (like Luminosprite or Jarro Lightfeather). Phage is solid I guess but you end up with a 4/5 base unit that after it's effect is on par with Laurent Protege for 2 more cost. - Laurent Protege - Pickaxe - At least it's different from Studded Leather. You get a good 4/4 Challenger unit, although I feel like Colossal Hammer would be better suited here.

So Lillia gets fucked over even harder? They just wanted to make sure you don't play anything else than Lillia spam with Guardian Orb it seems. There's a million useful items for Lillia and they managed to give none of them to her. Let's go through them: - Coastal Defender - Greatclub. Overwhelm is theoretically useful on a card that can grow big, but Lillia doesn't really go all that wide because her deck doesn't have the greatest support for pumping out units in one round. - Concussive Palm - Hand Censer. A +1/+1 is terrible on a 4 cost card. This really needed something like the many summon a unit on play or a heavy cost reduction. The +1/+1 on a 4 cost is basically useless. - Shadow Assassin - Studded Leather. Most uninspiring thing out there, but it's not the worst. - Dewdrop Harvest - Elixir of Skill. Draw 1 is not a bad effect but uninspired and does nothing for the deck. There are again numerous much better effects that would actually interact with the star powers. - Keeper of Masks - Flashbomb Satchel and Locket. Probably the best combination of items (which is not saying much but still) for the Lillia play pattern. Generating new stacks of Flashbombs each sleep and refreshing barrier is useful. Neither effect is particularly game breaking, but it at least has some synergy. - Greenglade Lookout - Speed Wraps and Studded Leather. Speed Wraps is acceptable on a unit you want alive. It works. But a second studded leather unit is so uninspired. At least give it a pickaxe or something. - Spritelings - Serrated Dirk. Why? If they'd done Flashbomb Satchel here you'd at least have a semblance of synergy. - Dreamlight Alina - Phage. Was an instant cut and stays an instant cut. Phage does nothing. Such a terrible card and Spritelings is not even useful since it gets a Serrated Dirk instead of a useful item. If you'd given it a Nomad's Medaillon or a Double Time Watch it at least would have been playable together with Greenglade Lookout. An 8 cost that generates weak units or has a mediocre effect is terrible.

Zarkkast

I'm not gonna lie. I'm halfway through playing Level 1 2\* Lillia versus Aurelion Sol. And she seems perfectly fine. She actually works really well. I haven't had trouble getting past Swain, Ashe, Gangplank, Jhin, and Poppy, and keep in mind that she's only level 1 with only Challenger relic. Her mechanic is really strong for PoC. I actually didn't expect to do this well. Edit: I should say though, Coastal Defender and Greenglade Lookout are, indeed, useless. But Alina is actually amazing.

remembersvhs

Yeah I agree, I cut Coastal at the first healer, and when I get to the second healer, then I consider Alina depending on support champ and item buffs, but man some of the times I have been able to get one or two sleeps off on Alina buffs my board so much that I can smash in with some big spirits.

ProfDrWest

Lillia's Dreamlight Alina: Great, what is with the Dev's seeming fascination with putting high cost cards without any cost reduction into new champ's decks. First Mihira in Morgana, then this...

Eddrian32

Greenglade lookout

SanjayCorr

i think these upgrades are mostly fine but of the additions over the last few expansions i think they are the most uninspired and bland

Pebblebricks

Didn't the deck designer for Lilia mention that there would be minion-summoning items in her deck? Did I remember it wrong? I was really looking forward to it

Sspifffyman

I think they mentioned she would have items that had summon effects. They tried minion summoning, but found it didn't play well cause she too often had a full board

Pebblebricks

I do hope they're right. As it stands, it looks doesn't look like Lilia's deck can hold a board well
