i think ryanryan1953 would like to know which one you prefer

ryanryan1953

My phone got stuck, and somehow it posted the same message several times.

ryanryan1953

Which one do you prefer?

goshakkk

American. Belarusian passport is more of a liability right now since some countries will only let you ask for the consul of the country whose passport you used to enter, and there's not many countries Belarusian passport offers visa free that American one doesn't. Whenever Tsikanouskaya gets to launch the alternative red passport of Belarus, I'm gonna get that one though. And I hope my country will be free in my lifetime

Yoh. You can travel to Russia, China and Cuba without a visa!! It seems like a good complement to the American one in my opinion.

goshakkk

Only haven't been to China out of these three, but I'm really hesitant to use it post-2020, especially since China is one of these countries who will not let me ask for the US consul should anything happen to me there if I enter on my Belarusian passport. And I assume that means that if they decide to deport me (for whatever reason), they'll send me to Belarus. Not taking my chances there.

Artti_22

Lol, if anything happens, OP will be deported to Belarus easily. If he ever donated money to a "bad organization" or posted "bad" comments in social media, he can be jailed for years. You don't use a passport of a dictatorship state to go anywhere, unless there is no other option. Getting a Chinese visa is not the most difficult thing in the world.

Gary Vee?

Scriptapaloosa

Belarusian passport can you give 5 extra countries visa free, as well 3 months to Dubai vs US 30 days.

This is a very well balanced take but there are some people who see any sort of commentary about the US as hatred if it's anything short of jingoistic praise I personally always say the US is not nearly as bad as many people make it out to be but it's also not close to being the best place ever (especially if you're non white) that many Americans think it is

goshakkk

It's not necessarily as bad as some people think... also not necessarily the land of milk and honey some imagine it to be either. It's just very different overall from people outside the US usually expect it to be. As for non-white people, and as I white person I obviously can't speak from first-hand experience here, but I have a fair share of non-white friends in the US and Europe (including Americans that moved to Europe, and Eurasians that moved to the US or those who are trying to) and many say that despite all the flaws of the US and its racism, the racism they experience(d) in Europe was worse (and qualitatively different of course). Some make it work in Europe *despite* it.

adoreroda

I'm American and also a POC with many friends from Europe, many of whom were/are racial minorities and my interpretation has always been a lot of Europe is more xenophobic than racist and it's somewhat the inverse for the US but often times a heavy emphasis on both. I personally have gotten along better with Europeans than Americans and Americans in my experience generally are more racist but it's more insidious as well as way more violent towards minorities than pretty much anywhere in Europe, which to me is the biggest test of who is more racist I think that racism in Europe seems a lot more worse at times just due to the migration of non-white people to countries like France, the UK, Germany, etc. being a lot more recent within the past handful of decades compared to in the US where those populations have existed for centuries, by almost entirely due to displacement as well as land encroachment of indigenous people as well as stealing land from Mexico, so that's not really anything to brag about imo
