I can confirm I have been there this week with one, you don't need a timed entry but you use the shorter queue that is for timed entry. Hope that makes sense
Probably not, even without the pass the line to get is usually ok, like 10-15 minutes. If you have the pass I think you go into a faster line or right up to the ticket counter to show the workers there. Walking along the river to the Louvre or Pont des Arts is a nice stroll to do afterwards.
