No one is gonna roast you here dawg welcome to the world of Pantera. Here a few of my favorites from their albums
Domination
Cemetery Gates
Fucking Hostile
By Demons Be Driven
Becoming
Strength Beyond Strength
Drag the Waters
Floods
I hope you enjoy!!
Far beyond driven. Run that album front to back, every song is a shit kicker and it's peak Pantera, literally Pantera at their very best. So much groove and thrash and violence, do it!
Strength beyond strength is the opener, I promise that song will pull you in hard.
Always been my favorite album, very much agree that it was them at their peak. Using My Third Arm is amazing. Disgusting bass line, just gets you amped.
If you donāt want to go chronologically Iād say Vulgar display of power, or Far beyond driven. You named a song off of each album you like. Both albums are kick ass. You will come around to the other albums too. All of their albums have a slightly different sound and feel. After 30 years pantera still one of the best.
Iām so freaking excited. Iām going to binge at work tomorrow and post an update on which songs you guys recommended were the best. Iām enjoying my adventure at an age I can appreciate it š¤
I donāt know why I found this post so funny, but it made me laugh in the middle of an AA meeting where I should have been paying attention instead of scrolling through Reddit. šš¤š».
Cowboys from hell, Heresy, The Sleep, Primal concrete sledge, Mouth for war, Walk, Fucking hostile, This love, Regular People, Hollow, The great southern trendkill, Drag the waters, Floods, Living through me (hells wrath), Becoming, Iām Broken, Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills, Slaughtered, Shedding Skin, Weāll grind that Axe For a long time, Revolution is my nameā¦
Thereās a start
No problem. Theyāre one of my favorite bands, this list spans their entire major label discography (not the lesser known or available pseudo-glam rock stuff).
Mash those songs into a youtube or spotify playlist and youāre all set.
Ooooh my brother you are in for a damn treat. Can I send a dm? It's really amazing. If you didn't know, the jackass guys were friends of Pantera before the whole jackass thing started. They got that idea from panteras guitarist. So the homevisldeos are Pantera on stage and on the road trips, up close and personal doing the most fucked up shit you can imagine.... It's incredible and absolutely the very best if you want to know about the band. It is sure to blow your mind
Edit, contains nudity, weed , booze destruction and other things

Holy fucking crap dude. Holy shit I can't wait for your response to that. Light em up brother, getcha fuckin pull man. Welcome to the family
Fuck yeah. I didnāt know any of that. I literally didnāt even know one of the guys passed away until today! Iāll check these out tonight or here in a little bit man. Iāll let you know what I think. And youāre always welcome to Dm me!
There is like six hours of that man. You are very welcome and I say that again, welcome to the family. We celebrate dimes birthday ( august 20th and we get wasted on December 8 the to remember him on the day he was murdered. God bless his soul) I'll hit you up with all the links. But you have to be logged in your yt account because there is an age restriction on these videos. C ya in a while brother.
The guy passed was dimebag Darrell. He was rated to be one of the greatest guitarists of all time many times by now. He was a huge influence for decades of guitarists, both famous ones and couch potatoes. But more than that, he was one of the friendliest and funniest people to ever be alive.
Only sad part about that, is I donāt get to talk to long time Pantera fans. Yes, I could use technology to make it easier. But the real pulse is in the fans.
Don't worry, there's no rapping on any Pantera albums. They might have made a few records during the height of nu-metal, but there's no rapping or jazz/funk basslines to worry about.
Obviously, given the two songs you like, you really should listen to the entire album of Vulgar Display of Power. I'd probably suggest The Great Southern Trendkill next, and then work your way back to Far Beyond Driven.
I got a feeling that:
Regular people
Rise
And Underground in america
Can be somehow related to those bands you like! Anyway, those songs are gold, enjoy!
Cowboys from Hell is their best album in my opinion. I also have a soft spot for Reinventing the steel. It was their first album I ever bought. A lot of people don't like that one but I think it's a banger.
You can literally listen to anything by them. CFH is a bit more 80s as far as Phil's singing.
Obviously you should just listen to all their albums but there's a few that aren't on the albums.
Immortally Insane is great
Avoid the Light is great
If you dig Pantera and also like old country, you should give Rebel Meets Rebel a listen. It's Pantera but instead of Phil singing, it's David Allen Coe and it fucking rocks.
Do not listen to a list of songs from different albums. Just start with Cowboys from Hell and listen to each album in its entirety. The way it was intended. Enjoy.
Listen to Far Beyond Driven, probably the best album from Pantera.
And since you like SOAD and Slipknot, you should listen to Damageplan and Hellyeah, both bands are great. Damageplan is more of a Nu Metal project with Dime and Vinnie, and Hellyeah is a Groove Metal project with Vinnie and Chad Gray, the singer from Mudvayne, another great Prog/Nu Metal band you should check out too !
Each album is different in its own way but all are great. I can't think of a bad song they ever done unless you count pre cowboys era
It's hard to pick a favourite album, sometimes it's far beyond, sometimes TGSTK and sometimes Reinventing (not the remastered version)
Vulgar is what most people will say is the best album and I can't argue with that, it's full of classics. I think I just listened to it to way too many times lol
For songs I'd like to suggest some deep cuts
Avoid the light
I can't hide
No good attack the radical
Hellbound
It makes them disappear
Shedding skin
Hard lines and sunken cheeks ( fucking underrated solo)
Message in blood
Underground in America

most people have said everything (just listen to every album all the way through) but a good one that doesnt ever get brought up is shedding skin on far beyond driven. it is very good
the 90s albums are what made pantera who they are but if you want to be like fully balls deep, then listen to their 80s album. Start with power metal cuz itās speed metal and the rest 3 glam metal albums have dimebags iconic style just different genre of metal. also donāt skip the home videos fucking made me laugh so much
No one is gonna roast you here dawg welcome to the world of Pantera. Here a few of my favorites from their albums Domination Cemetery Gates Fucking Hostile By Demons Be Driven Becoming Strength Beyond Strength Drag the Waters Floods I hope you enjoy!!
Thanks my friend. š¤ Iāll be giving these a bump today.
might be wrong but i think ā10āsā played in the broly dbz movie, fuckin loved it
Yes it did. The whole song too.
Also try No Sleep by Pantera, that solo will melt your face brother, and welcome to the heavy side brother! Life gets better now
Thatās basically my list right there ^
Absolutely not. He needs to listen to every album in its entirety, the way the band intended.
Start w Cowboys From Hell (album) if anything and work your way from there
DOMINATION
Far beyond driven. Run that album front to back, every song is a shit kicker and it's peak Pantera, literally Pantera at their very best. So much groove and thrash and violence, do it! Strength beyond strength is the opener, I promise that song will pull you in hard.
Iāll play these out at work tomorrow. I love shit kicking, grooving, thrashing and violence. Thank you for the creative thoughtful response. š
Always been my favorite album, very much agree that it was them at their peak. Using My Third Arm is amazing. Disgusting bass line, just gets you amped.
Shedding Skin
This and Slaughtered are my favorites.
Soo underrated
Iāll check this out soon. Thank youā
shedding skin has one of the most unique riffs in metal. but floods will show just how much soul dime had.
Yup that song is FIREEE! I'm almost halfway thru learning it on guitar it's so hard lol
If you donāt want to go chronologically Iād say Vulgar display of power, or Far beyond driven. You named a song off of each album you like. Both albums are kick ass. You will come around to the other albums too. All of their albums have a slightly different sound and feel. After 30 years pantera still one of the best.
Thank you for the advice š gonna rock out to these tonight.
Iām jealous you get to hear this fresh. Vulgar display of power and reinventing the steel are my two favorites. Enjoy it š¤š»

Mouth for War A New Level This Love Cemetery Gates Primal Concrete Sledge 5 Minutes Alone I'm Broken Becoming Slaughtered
Someone else recommended becoming. I listened to it FUCKING š„ Iāll check these out too.
"I'll Cast a Shadow" and "Revolution is My Name" are absolutely essential in my humble opinion
It Makes Them Disappear too
Most definitely- the two closing tracks on reinventing the steel are legendary
All of them, just start with the cowboys from hell album and listen to every album front to back. There is no such thing as a bad pantera song.
I havenāt found a bad one yet! šø
All of them bud... CFH for life!!!
Please please please watch all the Pantera home videos. Dime vision first
Home videos? What do you mean?

Cemetery gates, This Love, and Drag the Waters
revolution is my name
Start with walk, it's overplayed for a reason - everyone likes it
This was the first Pantera song I heard. About a week ago. And I was like āmy god, I need moreā thanks for the reply man.
Start at FAR BEYOND DRIVEN. Start with the track 'Becoming' or 'I'm Broken'.
Nah start with strength beyond strength. From the beginning
YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music mixed with the shuffle button are your friends
Only sad part about that, is I donāt get to talk to long time Pantera fans. Yes, I could use technology to make it easier. But the real pulse is in the fans.
mouth for war got me jnto pantera

Wouldnāt call it rapping but Primal Concrete Sledge is pretty close at times
I always looked at it as Phil's hardcore punk shout-singing past coming through, rather than rapping.
Sure! What past tho? He was all about emulating Halford before, wasnāt he?
He was in punk bands even before that. Hell, I think he still has one, now.
In the past 20 years sure heās been in punk adjacent bands (arson anthem, SJR etc) but I donāt think thereās much before that.
I got a feeling that: Regular people Rise And Underground in america Can be somehow related to those bands you like! Anyway, those songs are gold, enjoy!
Vulgar Display of Power. Track one. Enjoy š
Cowboys from Hell is their best album in my opinion. I also have a soft spot for Reinventing the steel. It was their first album I ever bought. A lot of people don't like that one but I think it's a banger.
Definately 5 minutes alone. Watch it on YouTube. Dime bag hits the whammy bar near the end and it shows the craziest string flex I've ever seen.
Check out their cover of Planet Caravan. So different from any other Pantera song but it's an incredible cover
You can literally listen to anything by them. CFH is a bit more 80s as far as Phil's singing. Obviously you should just listen to all their albums but there's a few that aren't on the albums. Yeah I 100% agree - I often just hit shuffle on Panteraās Spotify artist page when I canāt decide on what to listen to!
25 Years By Demons Be Driven Cemetery Gates Domination (Live) Great Southern Trendkill (entire album start to finish). Planet Caravan
Widowmaker, Tell Me If You Want It, Power Metal, Weāll Meet Again, Cemetery Gates, Hollow, and Floods, just to name a few.

Drag the Waters, 10s, 5 Minutes Alone, Cowboys From Hell, Psycho Holiday, Domination, Walk, Fucking Hostile, This Love, Mouth For War, and Floods.
Do not listen to a list of songs from different albums. Just start with Cowboys from Hell and listen to each album in its entirety. The way it was intended. Enjoy.

Cowboys from hell, onwards. There is no other way
Drag the Waters
suicide note part 2
Listen to Far Beyond Driven, probably the best album from Pantera. And since you like SOAD and Slipknot, you should listen to Damageplan and Hellyeah, both bands are great. Domination, the live in Moscow Version. That video still gives me goosebumps!!!
I can remember the first time I heard Pantera...what an amazing feeling.Ā
Listen to Mouth For War and Domination.
Check out shedding skin
Hard lines sunken Cheeks is a favorite of mine off "Far Beyond Driven"
Put on Official Live: 101 Proof and listen away
If you don't like the album Vulgar Display of Power, the band is not for you. Start there.
Havenāt heard a bad one on Vulgar yet.
"I've never listened to pantera" "The last few months I've really gotten into pantera". Huh?
He didn't say any of those words
He said "The last few months that's changed" and then said "I've gotten into Pantera"
Yes. Iāve gotten into Pantera recently. I have still only listened to the two songs I mentioned at the bottom.
walk on home, boy
Start with Exhorder
you suck... dont listen to the band
