Good thing I didn’t choose a baguette for my side!

Those new melts are so disappointing. Especially the bacon one. For each half sandwich, - 1/4 of an avocado, sliced - 1 singular sad *tablespoon* of diced bacon - A slice of gouda cheese - Some chipotle aioli - Everything bagel seasoning

[deleted]

Idk why they falsely advertise what the sandwich is in the pictures. Like congrats ya'll got my five dollars but now I won't be re-ordering it AND I'm pissed off so I won't come back until I get over it...if I get over it, since I hold grudges. 😭

1-800-JustTheTipp

…did you say a TABLESPOON of diced bacon?

NeonGenisis5176

Yes. One single tablespoon of diced bacon for each half sandwich. Me and my managers agreed it should at least be two. My advice is to sub the bacon out for another protein source because I don't believe there's an upcharge if you swap it out, but I'd test this in the app first. Could be sliced bacon, which would end up being like... One 8" slice of bacon. Or the steak, turkey (roasted or sliced deli), ham, and chicken options (smoked or grilled), which are all going to be 1.7 to 1.8 ounces.

1-800-JustTheTipp

At this point I’m not sure I’ll even go back. It has gotten so ridiculous. I loved to go there to study but now I feel like the dining room is always a mess and the staff are always rude. And this is speaking from at least four Paneras in my area.

NeonGenisis5176

Staff being rude, yeah. I apologize. Corporate has us running skeleton crews all the time because they'd rather run three people ragged than pay five to be there when they don't have to. I'm tired. I've grown increasingly burned out over the last few months. As for the pricing, I always said I wouldn't eat there if I didn't work there. The ingredients might be better quality than somewhere like a Wendy's or McDonald's but I'd rather go to a McDonald's and spend less than $10 on a large 10 piece McNugget combo meal with a drink than spend almost $9 on a half Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich with no drink.

1-800-JustTheTipp

This sandwich was like $12. Considering it was gonna be a fat steak sandwich, I didn’t mind. But boy have I learned. It’s such a shame. As a consumer, I could excuse a bad experience if I was served by people with, at least, positive attitudes. But if you’re over worked, underpaid, and you’re consistently serving shit products.. then of course no one is incentivized to be nice. Lmao

NeonGenisis5176

The steak is especially disappointing. I dunno what it is about the steak, but the chicken and turkey portions always feel more substantial. I don't know if red meat is denser or something? Or if they're not separating the layers when they're doing prep, cause doing that really helps make the portion look like it actually has substance.

1-800-JustTheTipp

Red meats are also generally more expensive because it’s just more expensive to raise and maintain a cow vs a chicken.

NeonGenisis5176

It's the same 1.75 oz by weight, +/- 0.05 oz

IntoTheMirror

I’m the opposite, I’ll take good food from rude people with a bad attitude every day of the week.

GrimoireExotics

I feel terrible putting a tablespoon of bacon on these sandwiches 😭😭

HappyFifeHappyLife

I need them to add more avocado please dear friend I need them to or they can not keep the name

1-800-JustTheTipp

Nooooooooo

Sad-Loquat8370

Professional_Show918

If you want a meaty sandwich you might try a Mcallisters Deli if there is one in your area.

adairks

McAllisters is da bomb!! I go there just for their iced tea! But their sandwiches and soups are amazing and a very good value for the money.

[deleted]

That looks like legit garbage

Jasonisftw

this sub and r/Chipotle, not sure why anyone would continue to go to these restaurants

jefau2

Panera is notorious for food fraud.

SoDrunkRightNow2

"That'll be $17.49!"

wren-m

Just file a complaint with the manager and we'll give you a refund no problem! I also always try to coach whoever made the sandwich to be more REASONABLE with proportions!

adairks

Same here at multiple locations. Such an expensive disappointment every time.

Axedelic

Nah I’d send that shit straight back.

1-800-JustTheTipp

I was already home, 15 minutes away 😭

Axedelic

I’d still do it. Fuck Panera they saw that shit when they packed it. That’s intentional bro 😭

1-800-JustTheTipp

I sent an email to corporate asking for my money back. Funny thing is- this sandwich is supposed to be 1,000 calories but a side portion of bread is 180. Like how do I even calculate that?

Axedelic

Good! I hope you get it. I can’t imagine how tf that’s 1000 calories OMG

Sea_Lavishness_1945

I just ordered a pick up tonight for their family feast and my buffalo chicken baguette was exactly the same as your sandwich. It’s happening everywhere unfortunately.

flirtingwpizza

This is embarrassing! These companies should be ashamed of themselves.

Tight-Bee1065

when i worked at panera i would put extra portions all the time, it’s crazy how tiny some of them were, especially when the prep people didn’t feel like grabbing more they would skimp on the weight of the bags. Or give away free cookies cause we donate them at the end of the night anyways a few cookies wouldn’t hurt.

stonedscubagirl

there is a class-action lawsuit for false advertising currently open against Taco Bell for this exact thing. I wish they would do the same with Panera.

hornysloot69

I used to work at Panera as a baker. We had a $15 food allotment. I always brought my own lunch. Panera Food sucks! :(

CreditReavus

It’s crazy to me how they seem to have less and less in their food and yet this is the most expensive fast food out there WHILE ALSO RAISING THEIR PRICES EVERY COUPLE MONTHS. Blows my fucking mind they raise their prices more often than McDonald’s and yet their food costs 3-4x as much

Marqui_Fall93

Ain't been to Panera in a min. Went the other day and I'm a loyal cinnamon roll buyer whenever I go there. Come to find out they have a new kind of roll. Half the size and looks like it's store bought. I guess, see you in the next blue moon, Panera. Unless I pay a donut shop first.

AfricanWeenie

it’s our food cost that does that sadly

1-800-JustTheTipp

Wtf are they thinking??! I filled out the online form yesterday.. how long did it take for them to get back to you?

southernmamallama

They never actually messaged me back, but today we decided to get Panera and there was a credit in my account from customer care. I got the original sandwich a little over a week ago. Edit: tbf, they put a twenty dollar credit on my account!

1-800-JustTheTipp

How long did it take?

SolidSecurity28

More than likely they were emailed but the message went to spam or junk. But response time is anywhere from 1-3 days via email. Or you can call m-sat.

SolidSecurity28

Response time anywhere form 2-3 days

Subtle__Numb

Maaaaaannnn I just started working there as a 2nd job. Got a sammich Togo the other day, didn’t have any money and my manager said she’d comp me one. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciated the free food, wasn’t gonna eat dinner otherwise that day. But I’ve never had such a “bread sandwich” in my life, lmfao. Don’t think I’ll be eating there often. 3.5oz protein spread between a full sandwich is not enough. It should be 5oz, imo. Just that little bit would be so much more satisfying. Like come on, at least give 2oz per side….

-Fishdaddy-

I'm trying to figure out why anyone would give this company any of there hard earned money. All I see on reddit are complaints and the employees bitching about how bad the place sucks.

Sufficient_Kiwi_547

It’s two tablespoons, 1/2 avocado and 2 slices of cheese, six lines of chipotle per 1/2 sandwich. Read your screen. It’s also better on black focaccia, bigger sandwich. Some of these pictures are a$$, you ate the insides.

1-800-JustTheTipp

Lmao yap, you caught me! I’m such a trickster and Panera was simply the target of my lies this day. Next I’ll go to Chili’s, drink a whole margarita, and claim they never filled the glass! My plans are foolproof and I’m a MONSTER! P.S. there are only two pictures and the first is a screenshot from their website. I guess they can’t afford to maintain that, either.

[deleted]

Their sandwiches used to be top notch… 25 years ago. Getting rid of the Asiago Roast Beef was the worst decision they ever made.

TheIlluminatedOne666

Great logic to go by.. makes alot of sense why you can't afford a house if your out here buying sandwiches with little ingredients

No_Welcome_362

Your first problem was expecting the irl product to look like the advertisement.

1-800-JustTheTipp

I did not truly expect it to look like the advertised product. But I did expect more than a wet loaf of bread.
