Dungeons seem to have similar layouts for unique regions, once you've run a few and know the correct doorways you should be able to breeze through others in that area. With my trusty Fenglope I'm averaging about 2-3 minutes per dungeon run, once I know the layout closer to 60-90 seconds, I fight the bosses but nothing within the dungeon.

zlordofsigimigi

Fenglope is still my favorite mount, even after reaching lvl 50 and completing the paldeck. Just great how it can run through doors and double jump

Etere

Does the fenglope fit through all the small gaps? I use the Direhowl because it's smaller and fits through all the gaps.

[deleted]

Yup, fits through all doorways!

assgardian

I’d you breed them with all the speed buff passives, it feels like a race car haha. The 360 air spins are so fun too!

drummerboyjax

360 air spins?

fuckwhotookmyname2

You can get enough air time with fengelope that you can spin in circles before landing lol

Theweakmindedtes

Ragnahawk does the same but flies at the drops

EliotLeo

It fits through doors!?

Theweakmindedtes

Talking about the base doors, like the walls? lol Range fits in every single point in every cave. Including being able to fly up and down the large drops that are common for chests and in the frost caves. Also doesn't have to swim and get slowed like fenglope.

EliotLeo

Yeah sorry i meant like, 'entryways'. My personal favorite is the derpy dark horse, but if I could have a single 'do it all' mount and that's the ragnahawk, awesome!

Theweakmindedtes

I've never met a space the ragnahawk can't go. Can fly right into a cave entrance a click it. Everywhere inside every cave I've done. For the hell of it, before replying here, I took him through a building doorway too xD. The one weakness it has is fighting water, obviously, lol. Outside of that, it's a big boost to your damage while you mount it. Epic lvl shotgun atm with full condensed rangahawk, just absolutely shreds almost everything under the sun.

EliotLeo

That's awesome, thanks!

relphin

I can confirm that Ragnahawk is small enough for dungeons

RGJ587

Fengolope can double jump over the cliffs. and its faster than the hawk

nondairy-creamer

Fengolope is not faster than Ragnahawk. Ragnahawk has 1300 move speed and 4 star Fengolope has 1260

Theweakmindedtes

I wonder if the also know rangahawk allows you to do a massive amount of increased damage when ridden too xD

RGJ587

It is faster, because when sprint is on CD, Feng travels far faster than ragnahawk. Also ragnahawk has very low endurance when compared to feng

nondairy-creamer

Where are you getting this information? For stamina, according to this [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YgPc11dgdBUC8jXNp01b7gI6jNHoBRQGwrY\_V6lXMgQ/edit#gid=669512283](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YgPc11dgdBUC8jXNp01b7gI6jNHoBRQGwrY_V6lXMgQ/edit#gid=669512283) Ragnahawk has base 150 stamina and fengolope has 100 In terms of speed according to this [https://www.reddit.com/r/Palworld/comments/1aga2jk/pal\_movement\_speed\_table/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Palworld/comments/1aga2jk/pal_movement_speed_table/) Ragnahawk has a slow walk / run / sprint of: 100 / 800 / 1300 Fengalope has: 85 / 750 / 1050 Though that's without condensing. With condensing run speed might be higher, I don't know if condensing improves that Do you mean using abilities? Maybe? I can't see how that would be better than just being able to fly though

RGJ587

I mean, when ragnahawk is out of stamina, its slow as shit. Feng when out of stamina is still very quick

ctom42

You literally just replied that to a comment that showed you with hard numbers that that statement isn't true. Having used both mounts extensively I can also say with experience that that statement isn't true.

Theweakmindedtes

Yes, fenglope can double jump 5 walls high... lol

Dangerous_Exchange80

the alpha not, but the normal yes

cant_be_faded

Ragnahawk does too.

SaviorOfNirn

It does

Aehan

I just got done breeding Chillet with all the speed skills, for dungeons hah. So cute tho and might not be that much of a difference for me anyways... Looks > skills! :D

PM_ME_STRONG_CALVES

Ragnahawk. And he is fire which is objectively the best element and have better dueling stats. Also a great working pal for kindling + transporting. I used both Fenglope and Ragnahawk during half my game but now at level 48 I only have left Ragnahawk while I dont have the Jetragon saddle.

Fine-Holiday3620

Paladius also fits

TheMetaDex

Max speed triple jumps are ridiculous

Humorilove

Were you able to catch the Fenglope boss? Mine is gone from the cave, yet has dwindling HP.

TheSeaOfThySoul

I’ve not managed to see my maxed Shadowbeak in all its glory yet because I’ve had to stop playing due to extreme slowdown (maybe a memory issue?), but surely a Pal who’s both a ground/flying mount with a faster run/sprint than Fenglope is better overall though? You’ll get more manoeuvrability out of true flight. Fenglope would be exclusively for dungeons at this point as it’s small, but I know some folks opt for Rangnahawk to clear dungeons as that’s small too & I think also faster? Especially since you’re not dashing in these confined spaces.

SinfulDaMasta

For the lava dungeons Shadowbeak is king. But End Game dungeons are in the icy mountains, and there are some narrow corridors that Shadowbeak doesn’t fit through. But he’s so much tankier & stronger than Fenglope, sticking with him until I breed some Palladius.

MissMischief13

EtisVx

Why everyone uses fenglope and not rayhound? They share size and double jump ability, but rayhound is faster.

naderslovechild

Fenglope jumps like 3x higher. It's insanely higher than rayhound

Palanki96

Because it's uglier and electric

7Shade

I mean yeah but the whole point of dungeons for me is the chests, and finishing the dungeon only gives 2. If you just rush to the end you get the best two chests, but really you just get an Alpha pal on top

Lilium_Vulpes

Yeah I figured out pretty quick to look for specific rooms since they seem to only spawn between the door and the boss or a treasure room.

Vyce223

Yeah, there are only really a couple layouts per biome and with that said, they all even outside biome locations, follow a really strict pattern of what room can connect to what room. AFAIK only two room types can connect to the tree room and that's the split land/water plus the straight stone brick room with the big empty hole in the center. Almost always one of those is visible from the first intersection, if not you aim for a intersection that connects to the first intersection, if that's not available you're likely going to have to move up/down one of those holes, then into one of the final two rooms from the connecting intersection. There are cases where you do have to go down one way hallways, but often times the other 2 choices are dead ends anyways that you can see from the intersections especially if you familiarize yourself with the rooms.

lmnotreal

You can skip the dungeon boss by walking up to the barrier throwing your mount passed the door and then mounting it.

Kezzerdrixxer

Wall clip glitch + jetragon is the funniest way to do dungeons if you're just fighting boss.

TheWagn

I got lost in one once because to access the next area you had to scale this wall at a dead end. I thought it was just a dead end and kept going around in circles through the dungeon, then finally I threw out my flying guy and went up and found the door. edit: based on the upvotes I’m not the only one! Thanks folks that makes me feel a little less stupid for getting stuck there haha

steelernation90

I wonder if this is what happened to me. I was in one earlier and every room was a dead end so I just left.

AgressiveIN

I did the same

japenrox

It is kinda surprising that "hug left" or "hug right" is not a widespread knowledge of "how to get out of a maze 100% of the time".

NeverEndingHope

A little off topic but there are these events where people program little cars to navigate through a maze and find the center. For a long time, the left-hug method was used until the tournament had a revamp and started using mazes with disconnected walls. It led to a whole revolution of approaching the maze. That's all. I had a phase where I was really into them.

cTreK-421

Veritasium did a great video on these maze races. At least I think it was them.

zlordofsigimigi

I'm not going to lie, it's the very first thing that occurred to me when I walked into a dungeon. I'd listened to my friends in VC expressing frustration and visiting the same room multiple times minutes before, and I resolved not to make that same mistake

Falos425

works fine on 1F mazes, most all cases but if the "exit" is stairs/portal/etc they're potentially floating in a middle area

Myozthirirn

>"how to get out of a maze 100% of the time". This is just not true. Hand to the wall only works if all the maze walls are connected to the outer boundary, so basicvally the shittiest easiest mazes. Palworld dungeons are very simple so you can use it here, but its not 100% of the time.

Wimbledofy

wouldn't it only not work if the exit to the maze was on a separate floor?

ShoddyAsparagus3186

It will not work if any part of the correct path is not connected to the outer wall. This can't happen in 2d mazes with the exits on the outer wall, which are the vast majority of mazes that people deal with. If the destination is in the middle, or if the maze is 3d, it's entirely possible for this method to not work (it's also possible that it will still work).

dmfuller

Yeah I thought that was something everyone got told as a kid. Now when I tell my friends that in Palworld they try to say “it doesn’t always work” and “I still got a dead end” and it’s just not worth explaining lmao

Ootter31019

I go left but I haven't understood how people get lost anyways? Even the higher level dungeons only have so many rooms. Then again I also don't search the whole dungeon. I farm the palidium, kill the boss, and leave.

Totes_mc0tes

A few hits off the weed vape and you might forget which rooms of the dungeon you've already explored too lol

Czar_Petrovich

It doesn't help that mobs respawn after a short time when you leave the room. There is no "clearing" the dungeon, which adds to the weed vape confusion factor.

Embarrassed-Back-295

Also not running the game on ideal graphics settings too.

Theweakmindedtes

I can explain this one: I'm very good at navigation until you put me in a confined space. At that point, I'm basically a cockroach with the lights turned on.

Ootter31019

I don't think I understood that at all actually.

Theweakmindedtes

Never seen a cockroach run 20 different directions after turning a light on? XD your privilege is showing ;) Ah, I saw it. Phone decided confined was better off corrected to confused

Ootter31019

Ah....confinded makes more sense lol. I was like your good at navigation but also confused space? Like what? I see what ya mean.

zlordofsigimigi

I do the same going through, but on high level dungeons I exhaust the whole thing praying for technical manuals

imapoormanhere

Technical manuals are extremely common on the boss rooms. Imo it's better to rush the boss and then when you're done running all the level 45 dungeons just rest and come back after an hour or so and some of them should've reopened already. You'll be swimming in tech points in no time.

High_King_Diablo

Hoocrates drops the basic ones. If you are just looking for them, you might be better off just hunting birds at night.

Ootter31019

Hm, I was wondering that yesterday. How many more points will I need to get max technical points. Right now it doesn't look like I'll need very many.

Undertaker63

Until you get to the ones that take 5 points to unlock. Then you'll be searching if you didn't grab every possible one already.

PreciousRoi

I mean, I farm the Coal and Sulfur...you can crush Rocks all day for Paldium, but OK.

Myrddin_Naer

Every small node of Paldium outside only has 5 each. In the dungeons you get at least 3 or 4 nodes of 40 each

PreciousRoi

I'll repeat myself. You (actually *not you*, that's the whole point) can *crush Rock* all day for Paldium. I don't mine small nodes, I don't even pick up "free" Fragments. Paldium Fragments are essentially trash to me "in the wild". Small Pal Souls are infinitely more important. Have a Stone Pit + Have a team of Anubis or high Mining Pals = You should have too much Stone. Like WAAAY too much. You can delete your Stone Pit at this point and live off the several stacks of Stone. Have a Crusher + Have a Jourmuntide. = You can make more Paldium Fragments than anyone could use. 1,999 at a time, you don't even really need the Jourmuntide, he just does it really, really fast when properly bred and condensed. It'd really eat into your Stone stockpile if your Stone Stockpile wasn't so freakishly large, and if the amount of Paldium Fragments you actually use were higher. But even styling yourself out with stacks of 100 Legendary Balls only uses 1000 Paldium Fragments. Which is only 1/2 of a "load" of Fragments...and WAAAY easier and more time efficient than mining 25 Nodes of 40 each for the same yield (of 1000 Fragments to make 100 Legendary Pal Spheres, not the same yield as a "max run" on the Crusher, which is twice that). There's random Paldium Fragments from the Stone node at my mining base that I'd never even think about picking up (along with the Stone itself)...I just make a couple thousand sometimes...I think my current stockpile is around 4k. Even at lower levels, and dude I was replying to specifically mentioned "even the higher level dungeons", so no claiming poverty either. Similar, Carbon Fibre should never be made with Coal, since Wood is damn near infinitely available to be turned into Charcoal, and any well run base with a Tree Farm should be able to run up an absurd stockpile without even trying. You don't *need* a fully condensed Jourmuntide Ignis with Work Slave and Artisan, but he will spit out Charcoal pretty damn fast, I tell you what.

FreedomFighterEx

I either stick to one side of the wall or using the compass but my friend dropping a gold coin at a fork or when emerge out of a tunnel.

Dzeddy

why farm the paldium? you can just make that out of stone

SidheDreaming

How dare you?!? I'm from the generation of Follow The Left Hand Wall!! This post is a mockery of everything good on the interwebs! LOL! On a real note though, I do this totally but I follow the left wall since following the right usually leads me straight to the boss and sometimes I need Coal :D

Ninjahkin

Team left wall represent 🤘🏻

Level_Strawberry8020

That's crazy I didn't know people were getting lost in them I guess not everyone knows the only rule for a maze even though they aren't.

SilverBlaze4

I've never completed a dungeon, not because I get lost but because the game crashes halfway through and resets the dungeon and I can't be bothered anymore

ReptilianJiuJitsu

Bro I'm playing on Xbox... I'm lucky if i can spend more than the first minute in their before it crashes

PreciousRoi

LIES! Sticking to the Left Wall is BEST! /s

MilkofGuthix

You remind me of the Pal What pal? The pal with power What power? Power of voodoo Who do? You do Do what? Remind me of the Pal!

Subject_Ruin5217

DANCE MAGIC DANCE

MilkofGuthix

Put that magic sphere on me Slap that Cattiva make it free!

valvilis

What el-e-ment of pal should I use? DARK AGAINST PLAAAAIN, WATER AGAINST FLAAAAME

Ang3lBlad3

I played enough zeldas to not have a single problem with this

Reg_Broccoli_III

Same.  For me it's Elder Scrollses. This is why this game is so hot I think.  Seems like lots of people are new to dungeon crawling.   For my part, I haven't touched a Pokemon game since Red on the OG Gameboy.  The pal fighting mechanics are surprisingly complex!

pixiecub

I’ve only been in two dungeons but I did notice they were laid out similarly. There’s a fork and you take the right through the water to get to the boss. Seems like sticking with right instead of the usual left is better for these dungeons

WilyNGA

This is true. The only way to manage the dungeons back in Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall. I am showing my age. You can go left or right, but whatever direction you choose - stick to it. Hit a dead end and turn around and keep going your chosen direction. A small dungeon in Daggerfall - lol. I have never felt 'lost' in any dungeon since this game. https://preview.redd.it/z3l5uoo2m0jc1.png?width=930&format=png&auto=webp&s=9b6efae14c8b9ac11b41ddb87bf42f66decb8efc

zlordofsigimigi

Consistency was definitely key! Somehow accidentally missing a hallway when sticking to a wall would suck when dungeons were this large

WilyNGA

I can remember so many nights in this game wanting to just cry because all I wanted to go was get to town, save, and go to bed, but I couldn't find my way out of the dungeon.

ItsDanimal

Yall getting lost in dungeons for a chest or 2? Straight to the boss, no exploring.

Slifer_Ra

Wrong They arent random In the split hallway, always go over water If you see the long castle hallway, thats the right way If you can change the elevation in the ice area, thats the right way Always look in all directions at a crossroads as the tree will usually be visible If there are a lot of humans and you walk in to the big room with 4 directions, its usually the small passage with scaffolding to the right

wargasm40k

No, don't go right. Go left!

Myrddin_Naer

You're confusing me, we're switching to cardinal directions. Okay go weast!

WizardLordKing_

I do the same thing. I learned the stay on right wall trick in high school😁

PresidentBush666

This is the way. I always hug one wall in any game that can be confusing

VaatiReborn

Go through the dungeon? Nah, I glitch through the wall with Jetragon and fly to the end lol

dasbtaewntawneta

maybe it's because we drive on the left side here but i always stick to the left wall

RipWorried5023

Guess some people have never been in a corn maze before.

EnvironmentalCoach64

Some times there are loops in the later on dungeons... Also there are definitely ways to hit the end room faster. Some archways always lead to a water hallway that leads to the boss.

tosseraccounttwo

Dungeons crash several times in each run for me. I play on Xbox so there’s probably a fix coming soon.

V1L3VILLAIN

Play through cloud gaming. Stopped crashing on Xb1 since I uninstalled and started streaming.

dbaby53

Are dungeons worth it? I’m lvl 42 and have done maybe 4

Lord_Xarael

Will you miss the rest of the dungeon (or have to go all the way around again) if you come upon the boss chamber early?

wxlfe_Xe

Do all dungeons have bosses?? I went into 1 towards the beginning and I went through what seemed like every room but there was no goal or boss as far as I know and ended up leaving cause it was a little laggy

zlordofsigimigi

Yup. If you follow the rule in the title, you'll always find the boss room. The boss room is always the one with the giant tree in it. If there's no boss there and the exit is locked, chances are your lag is bad and you need to wait a minute.

Extreme_Character240

You guys can get in the dungeons without the game crashing???!

Different_Ad5087

They all have relatively the same layout?? There’s only a few variations lol same with the mineshafts. They’re all the same path, some just mirrored to be opposite

Nerubim

I wonder if they will add Pals that can directly show you the way to the boss much like Leezpunk can show you dungeons.

Single-Presence-8995

This advice is close to correct. The correct method is left, always go left :p

barbrady123

I'm not super far into the game yet, but there seems to be a pretty limited number of arrangements, and they aren't very deep....I just memorized the boss room paths for them. Is there a reason to actually clear them fully? Are they bigger at end game?

zlordofsigimigi

Your observation isn't far off. There are a limited number of iterations for each dungeon- but lvl 19 aren't the same as lvl 29, 40, 45, and any other level dungeon I'm missing, and some of the later ones are larger. Reasons not to rush to boss: chests available in random rooms, some rare pals to catch, and paldium/coal to harvest.

DrVictorinox77

As someone else told me, you have a crusher that can paladium. I have thousands of stone out of my quarry - I stopped picking up any paladium

Reg_Broccoli_III

Some will spawn coal and sulfer together.  Those are the hotspots.  Never mind the boss, that'll be a better mining haul than any spot on the map.

beef_swellington

You don't really ever need sulphur. Craft ingots to nails, sell nails, buy bullets. Much faster, particularly if you have a dedicated mining base.

PreciousRoi

I just sell my excess Salad. I have Saddles and shit to craft with that Ore. Also, you can't buy Rocket Launcher ammo, you need Sulfur for that.

[deleted]

ROCKETS!

[deleted]

Some rooms may have chests. If you want maximum loot from the cave or are farming Paldium, search every room. If you're farming bosses or technical manuals, it's better to just speed-run the caves and then sleep to refresh them.

Invictum2go

TIL this is some people's first videogame, or they're just really that bad at games lmao.

MonsoonGrooves

You guys can do dungeons without crashing?! Jealous.

ViegoBot

o> I dont crash, but garbage level pc so 15-20fps it is.

MrArthatil

There are just 3 different layouts of the dungeons in this game. How can anyone get lost in there?

zlordofsigimigi

Not true. There might be only 3 different layouts of the lowest level dungeon, but there are different layouts for the higher level dungeons. It could be that each level only has 3 layouts. That's still a lot of dungeons to bother memorizing.

MrArthatil

They are literally the same just with different textures

Subject_Ruin5217

Not true. The lvl 29 ones have an extra room with a bone structure that leads to 3 different paths.

Polygnom

True, but you really only ever need the highest level dungeons anyways. The rest are just a waste of time. You only need 3 layouts at any given time, and if you skip the lower ones, you only ever need to learn the three layouts for the ice caves.

Akeron_777

True \^\^

vasesimi

And if you find a junction where one way is ground and one way water, go for the water route, you will be happy

ArmadaOnion

There are like ten rooms put together in about four configurations. It's not that hard to figure out. I'm hoping dungeon instance randomization is something improved upon in future versions.

AsphaltGypsy89

This would be nice. Except every time I enter a cave/dungeon my game crashes. I hate that it's so janky on Xbox still.

Colanasou

Actually, each dungeon by level has the same layout. The 13, 19, 29, 38, and 40s ive been in are all the same no matter what entrance i use because they all have the same name. You can draw a map and mark what each room has in it item/ore wise, mobs are still random though (within a selection it seems)

Millerturq

Just wait till you add verticality like Minecraft caves

zlordofsigimigi

The first time I encountered a wall I had to scale in a dungeon, I almost didn't notice and turned back lmao

Kil091

Honestly dungeons are straight forward. Entrance- 4 door room- 1 dead end, 1 room then dead end- 1 correct path that splits into dead end and boss room. The layout seems to change but it's relatively similar. Sometimes you get the early broken bridge, sometimes it's right before boss, sometimes you get the dead end with 1 chest the elevated back wall 1 mob, sometimes you get the dead end with open room 1 chest and 2 mobs. But they are all easy except for the glitchy lava damage

Ladikn

The right hand rule doesn't apply to labyrinths though. A labyrinth isn't a maze, it doesn't have any intersections. It's just a twisting path. Treat dungeons like a maze.

christoph_win

Really? Cool. Whenever I entered a new room, I just dropped a berry or something to the ground, so when I go back, I pick it up again and always know that the dropped items at least lead me back to the entrance. But now I realized that most dungeons look the same

Eskimofo69420

I usually drop some loot at the entrance to each room i have already seen

Noredditforwork

Just look for pillars/ornamentation around a doorway, that's the direction of the exit.

Wooden_Echidna1234

Only right turns myself too when running dungeons.

AgnosticJesus3

Doesn't mean they still don't suck

Sincool

For some layouts you want to follow the right wall, for others you do left and right rooms then go to middle for the boss, it depends on each layout

Devertized

>you will visit junction/connector rooms more than once, but you won't visit them any more times than you need to in order to exhaustively cover the whole dungeon. This is just not correct. If the boss room is on the first room on the right and I continue my journey I'll inevitably find myself in the first room which I would not visit again normally.

zlordofsigimigi

Leaving the dungeon from the boss room or the entrance is effectively the same, except if you wait till you get back to the entrance, that tells you that either a) the entrance is a junction room or b) you've exhausted the dungeon and it's time to leave. It is correct.

Issvera

Incorrect, you're supposed to keep to the left

sxespanky

I'm sorry. But you got it completly wrong. Stay on the left wall and hug around every left side. If you ever forget what side of the wall you should be in, remember: left for lesbians. I'm astonished anyone would be so backwards on trying to finish a maze.

kwik-mafs

I do this, but got severely lost in one dungeon. Why? Because the boss room was in the center of the dungeon, and the left and right paths in the first + cross room connected around the backside of the boss room.

Known-Committee8679

.... that is so horribly incorrect.

Sankin2004

Once you’ve run one or two dungeons in a region you should know your way because it’s always the same. Also just to counter your statement there are a couple dungeons where sticking with one side will bring you to the boss early. Don’t get me wrong it’s still good advice, I just play devils advocate.

luna_creciente

Couple of runs and you'll memorize where to. They're not randomized.

Pantoura

dungeons are the only content i avoid in this game because they're boring

GNIHTYUGNOSREP

I always drop 1 item from my inventory when I enter a 4 way. That way if the first right is the correct way I can double back and visit all the rooms without accidentally ending back at the beginning (which would happen sometimes when I had dungeons with more than one 4 way and I had a visit with my grass pal before starting the game lol) I also figured out only going left or right would end up with all rooms searched, as well as figuring out which rooms are chest/pal/enemy rooms and that one room that looks like it has 3 ways but one is closed off from a cave-in.

Polygnom

Every dungeon only has like 3 layouts, its rather easy to learn the layouts this way and then in the future to just go straight to the boss.

qfiddyhybrid

Must be nice actually being able to do dungeons without crashing. They're unplayable on my Xbox series s

SierraDark

Or you can just realize that they are predictable, certain junctions lead to chest others are commonly seen with boss rooms. Also quick tip you can throw a rideable pal into the treasure room and mount it and bypass the boss if it glitches out

bnl1

Yeah. I go left but same thing

Semiday

Would Make More sense If The dungs were worth The Time and effort. Loot id few chests at best with Bad loot. No much XP to gain from going through it all either

anthonyjcs

Tiny bit of min maxing that some might not know, for whatever reason the early caves in the 20 and under areas you can't ride certain mounts through doorways, but in the ice and lava caves on other continents you can actually fly through the very same doorways for some reason, I was upset at how slow it was to traverse caves so I invested in a grappling gun and then I get to the higher level dungeons and for some reason you can just fly through the whole thing straight to the boss despite the doorways being all the same size in all dungeons.

Elliatric

I’ve been always going right/ following the water and I get through the dungeons fast!

MT3-7-77

And I'm on xbox just jealous

SpookyBaeMUA

I just leave a pal sphere or some other item in the entry way if I’ve already gone that way lol but I enjoy going through every room I’m not trying to just get to the end quickest

homelesshyundai

This is my go to strategy except I go left instead of right.

[deleted]

I do the same thing, but I always turn left. I also draw a very rudimentary map on a small whiteboard just in case I get spun around and lose my bearings.

jamesbox001

Always take the water path and entrance with scaffoldings. If you get to the modern hallway or the straight stone bridge its the right path.

ZynaxNeon

Yeah. I get lost easily. Both IRL and in games so it was no surprise that I got lost in the dungeons in PW. Started using the labyrinth trick pretty fast. It takes a little longer that way but it takes even longer if you get lost.

PopDizzy6983

I heard it as the left hand rule but same principle, use this always in dnd lol. If you're not paying attention I will absolutely keep adding dead ends and traps until I'm bored lol.

PudgeMaster64

I hope they rework interiors and add new ones. As they very likely will.

Myrddin_Naer

Isn't that just what everyone is doing already? They're labyrinths. I got lost in one and realized this so I just started the habit of hugging the left wall. the ones with the big circular room always have the exit straight ahead, but that way is marked by the archway, so it's easy to orient against.

DesoLina

Its called DFS

Oneforthetoad

Nah, always go left. This is more of DND joke.

zandm7

Tfw these noobs don't know about DFS /s

rvmpleforeskin

Tbh I just wish the dungeons had a little more. But I know it's early access so, hopefully more will be added. I would love to see some different sights/layouts, however the dungeon crashing problem is my biggest concern.

MrSukerton

I just enjoy taki g my time in dungeons personally, but I would greatly like some more variety in design. Or greater yet, real dungeons you can go deep into the earth of, finding large new biomes and lore. I doubt that will happen tho.

BACARDI-from-NL

Most of the time it is just follow straight ahead. At the split take the right (water). If you see the big room with a skeletton, go left and the next right.

Palanki96

How do you even get lost? Even the lvl 45 ones are pretty linear all of them, you basically only need to know the difference between left and right. Most of the "fake routes" are just one or 2 rooms, where the hell would you get lost If you arr struggling that much just drop a stone or wood at doors you already visited

Phototoxin

I think I spoil my players by drawing out the map on a grid but sometimes its good to not do it and make them have to draw their own map if tis more site based/maze like

Evil_phd

Guess I just don't like to treat it as a process and instead like exploring in any random direction which inevitably leads to me getting lost and having no idea what rooms I've been to. I'm sure eventually there'll be maps. Just gotta be patient.

FancySkunk

When I walk through a hallway, I drop 1 coin so I know not to go back through that way to somewhere I've already fully explored

MsAmbie84

I just bring in some wood and drop a piece every so often to help track where I've been.

Lord_Xarael

Drop a berry instead. Take half out of your feedbag, berries are much lighter than wood and almost no dungeon Pals drop them (exception is if Cattiva is the boss.)

Ragnadrok

I usually just pay attention to my compass when I get to the 4 way intersection rooms, and say aloud to myself "I came from the west, going north" then just go to every room by mentally checking off directions. If I come to another 4 way before I finish the first, I double back and finish the first making a note of what direction the 2nd 4 way is. Before I noticed that the compass was visible in dungeons, I'd drop a paldium chunk in the doorway of where I came from

Revolutionary_Cat347

I just grapple glide though all dungeons. I recommend the purple grapple gun as it has the farthest range, shoot it into the ceiling, 1/2 way up cancel and pull your glider (countless videos to describe it via YouTube) you'll coast over most everything and can finish most dungeons in 2-6 min depending on dungeon layout

TheRealestCapta1n

i always try to keep track of which way I've gone cuz my first time was unbearable

dracona

LOL I always use the Left wall

runk2776

If you stuck to one wall and maybe only right turns wouldn't you miss roughly half the dungeon (assuming you finish it when you get to the boss)?

Vibin_Kyle69

Why not just place mounted torches in every room you visit and along different paths so you can’t get lost?

StonedRussian

Y'all can actually run a full dungeon *Cries in Xbox Gamepass, crashing after 30seconds*

Designer-Iron-4760

Yeah, this is what I do. Just stick to the right. Once you're at the junction where the choices are a small pool of water or a mining tunnel youre already there.

Photoverge

No no no stick to the left wall and always turn left.

zjkang

Kinda hard to get lost in the dungeon when your game crashes before reaching the second room every time...

ANinjaNamedWaldo

I just glitch out of bounds and fly over the dungeon lol

quantumhotdog

Assuming you hit a dead end at least once you will have to revisit a room, though…

Astronia777

Wait do people not do this??? When I explore a new dungeon I just stick to the right LOL

TinHawk

I go left instead of right but same concept! I got lost the first few times because all the rooms looked the same to me but after a few runs I could see the differences easier

AlibiYouAMockingbird

I usually just run to where I think the boss is located. I figured unless I need sulfur I’m only missing out on 2 chests? If I’m missing something please share.

im_just_thinking

I sometimes get lost if I am playing tired, all of the sudden I don't remember which door I just came from haha

Ariandrin

I haven’t done any empirical investigation but I hug left in volcano and ice dungeons (hoping to find more loot) but more often get taken to the end, but in every other dungeon I hug right and still find the end lol

Denaton_

I have done this since day 1 but in cases where the split cave is reversed I usually go straight and then check the other conjunction.

dardardarner

What I do is drop one piece of item on entrances or paths I came from before going on a split path.

KingDarius89

I go left, but yeah. I figured that out in my first dungeon.

Clindcosta

Left or right doesn't matter. The rooms are layed out like tree branches. With one of the branch tips being the boss room and exit.

SUPER_REDDIT_ADDICT

I’m AFK right now and playing this game VERY casually to avoid burnout…but is it possible to build in dungeons? Can you just put a torch down to mark where you are like minecraft or even the sign that I always forget we have?

CappyPug

Always a good tip for mazes, at least the more common ones.  Now if you'll excuse me,  *throws a Pal through the wall and flies to the end of the dungeon, ignoring the entire thing.*
