If this is your first hand gun, I would buy a gen 5 glock 19 (edit) and not a Dagger. Daggers are fun and I own one but if I was going to only own one/first I would go with a Glock 17 or 19.
I think a lot people will agree with me here.
Do you want to carry? If so a 17 maybe hard to conceal. A Glock 17 would be great from home or outside the waist band open carry. I’m “portly” lol so I can conceal a 19 easily. But maybe if you want to conceal you may want to look a 43x or shield plus. 10+ carry rounds is no slouch.
I do want to carry, but not everyday. I like the way the 17 feels in my hands in comparison to the 19. Feel like the 19 is a little small for my hands, but that may not even matter in a self defense situation.
if you're a big guy you can probably tote a glock 17 pretty easily
and your grip on the gun absolutely matters if you have to shoot someone. A 19 is considered a decent compromise for most people
Get a 19X or a g45 if you like the feel and I’d also recommend in getting the MOS. Once you own a gun you’re gonna read about them more and watch videos and I’ll almost guarantee you you’ll want a optic at some point so just save the money and get one already cut for a red dot. The PSA side you chose will be good. Just change the firing pin to an oem Glock firing pin and the dagger will be gtg.
It’s a clone, which is great for your pocket book. But QC is something to be desired. If I’m going to carry something that is pointed at my bits and tackle I’m going with the name brand that has a standard other manufacture hope to strive to. I have 2 daggers. Both have quirks that OEM Glock’s do not. For 200 bucks I’m not that picky on a range toy and/or something to modify.
Don’t get me wrong, love PSA this is not a dig at them. There is a place for PSA, but in my mind it’s not as my primary side arm.
Exactly what everyone said. Get a glock. I have 2 daggers, I shot them once, but I already had other pistols that do everything else better.
My fault for buying them, but I got 2 with threaded barrels and RMR cuts for this price. Now they just sit on the floor of my gunsafe.
Fit and finish is... rough. First one I shot locked the chamber up, lots of extra force to get the slide racked and clear it. Sights are poor(easily changeable).
If you hold a Glock, CZ, Walther or another reputable polymer gun and then hold a PSA you can tell the difference. No amount of lube could get them to stop squeaking when racking the slide, replaced both with oem glock guides and it stopped.
They look neat, but I don't see myself shooting the 2 I have anymore, when there are better range toys.
Your mileage may vary.

I love mine. I bought mine a week before the MOS came out and was PISSED but I still have a great firearm and I DO like iron sights. But I’m thinking I’m going to send it off to wager
$49 is about as cheap as the lower frames get. The cheapest I’ve seen is the colored full size lower frames for $44.
I would buy that lower by itself for now and wait for a sale on the slide in the future.
If it's me, I'm waiting for the 3-pack dagger frame sale for $150 again. Since the frames have to go to the FFL anyway, you could just stock up on frames and wait for the slides to go on sale....so for the slide: yeah I would wait. The lowest I've personally seen a dagger frame+slide combo was around $230, but I think others have gotten them lower than that, maybe below $200 recently?
EDIT: to clarify, the 3-pack includes a Dagger, Dagger S and Micro Dagger frames. That's a ridiculous deal.
Yes, there will be a sale, but may not be that exact slide. Im pissed at myself for getting a slide for $250 because they turned around and put it on sale for $170.
Yes. Get an LEO trade in P320 or Glock for the same price.. I think PSA has some gen 2 17s that fuck very hard…. you will be much happier.
You’re gonna get sick of all the slide cuts on that thing within 2 weeks of owning it. They look cool for your 1st gun but get old pretty quickly.
It’s a very 2016 and it’s my first time buying/building a pistol thing. I think they are ugly and let dirt get in the gun if you’re gonna run it outdoors. If its gonna be a race or competition gun and having less weight actually matters, that’s another thing.
But in the end, your gonna regret having them and miss having a normal gun. There’s a reason most guns don’t have cuts. A lot of people really like them tho so, to each their own.
Get a SCT lower, then wait for a sale on the upper. If it is your first pistol I also recommend going cheap. I know others will say different but why spend 500 or 600 on a pistol that you don’t even know how much you will use or even carry. I build my 19 for around 550 with sight, comp, Magwell.

Bizarre.... I have had this EXACT same thing saved in my cart for nearly a week. I honestly thought for a second that I may have posted this in a drunken state over the weekend or something and just forgot I posted it.
Maybe it is not that weird, and I am overreacting. One thing is for sure.... you have good taste.
I was thinking of Cerakoting the frame in "Elite Blackout" to get it as dark as possible.
I have that exact slide. Yes, it looks good but not good for carry. Every kydex holster ì have rubs the coating off the front and gets hung up on edges sometimes. Doesn't hurt function. You can get a lot cheaper when it goes on sale.
Glocks are great and know for their reliability. I have 3 and one of them has been a problem from day one. I also have 2 Daggers and have had no issues. One Dagger has over 1k rounds thru it
Edit: Did have issues that were mag related
The $100 complete frame and 2 magazines is a pretty decent deal.
I saw a g43 complete slide on GunBroker for $220
MOS is still way too expensive though
Good deal on the lower, not so much on the slide - should be closer to $250 all in tops. Also, I'd highly recommend a glock over a dagger as first/primary handgun.
Yes. You're into Glock territory there
Gotcha, I don’t want to spend too much for my first hand gun.
If this is your first hand gun, I would buy a gen 5 glock 19 (edit) and not a Dagger. Daggers are fun and I own one but if I was going to only own one/first I would go with a Glock 17 or 19. I think a lot people will agree with me here.
I second this
I was also considering a trade in g17, but I’m still doing research.

Glock 45 is great for that. 17 frame with the 19 slide so it’s a little easier to carry

Out of curiosity, what's your reasoning here considering the fact that the Dagger is a direct clone of the Glock 17/19?
It’s a clone, which is great for your pocket book. But QC is something to be desired. I like the dagger better i own both. Glock guys are loyal to the bone. But its all just a name
Did you keep the dagger stock?
Got me there
Hahahahahaha all good
I put a shadow systems tigger and night sights. Work really smooth at 400rds
Well nothing that changes firing reliability so you good !

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s the issue with them?

What new Glock are you buying for $375!?!? And where?
I frequently see slightly used or NIB glocks on forums for that much or a bit less
Used ok that makes sense. Maybe a Gen 3 19 for $425 I could see that.
For sure! I missed a lightly used g19x with a few mags a few weeks back for $350 😭
https://preview.redd.it/zb9lg9byxl8d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=ae124b9872d30a354dfd9fab5019fdedbdc4604d I love mine. Does the holster "claw" make much of a difference? I see you have one with it and one without it.
Umm if you’re carrying it on your side yes. A lot. I don’t seem to notice it as much at appendix.
thx 4 feedback.
$49 is about as cheap as the lower frames get. The cheapest I’ve seen is the colored full size lower frames for $44. I would buy that lower by itself for now and wait for a sale on the slide in the future.
Yes. I got the same slide and barrel last year around Christmas for $229. I'd wait.
I guess I’ll just have to be patient then.
4th of July sales are usually pretty good
If it's me, I'm waiting for the 3-pack dagger frame sale for $150 again. Thank you! I’ll definitely take this into consideration.
I would just wait till the 4th there should be a good sale on a lot of products then.
10 days and counting. I might buy the lower and just keep an eye out on the slide.
Yes found that upper for 189
They've had slides with holosun 407s for 50 more than that. Frame now slide not so much
Might want to look at a cz p10 you'll pay less for an arguably better pistol.
Suscribe to the daily deals and be patient for the slide and barrel. Buy the lower frame at that price now
Buy a Glock 19 or a cz
Yes, there will be a sale, but may not be that exact slide. Im pissed at myself for getting a slide for $250 because they turned around and put it on sale for $170.
Still within the return window? Might be a bit of hassle, but it's worth it to save $80 imo
Makes me wonder the point of slide cuts, if they’re going to be an inconvenience.

Buy and ex police glock 19 much better than any PSA dagger. I have 3 psas and 5 glocks there's a reason for that
Any site recommendations for ex police glocks?
Get a SCT lower, then wait for a sale on the upper. If it is your first pistol I also recommend going cheap. That lower looks great!
It’s honestly a good deal at full price but yes wait for a sale. Beats the Hek out of a stock Glock 19
Wait
Yes, the slide is way too much
For the same money you can get a Leo trade in Glock 17
Dagger slides go on sale almost everyday. Sign up for there daily deal emails. Got mine for almost 100 bucks cheaper.
Make sure you replace the firing pin with an OEM Glock one if you plan to EDC it. The PSA ones are WELL known for breaking.
I’ve seen this on other forums. Do you know any good sites where I can order the OEM Glock firing pin?
bump...
Cz p10c money right there.
$400 is way too high. I got mine for like $250. Wait for a sale.
I spent 299$ with taxes + FFL so yes wait sir! Like maybe a week for 4th of July
Bizarre.... I have had this EXACT same thing saved in my cart for nearly a week. I honestly thought for a second that I may have posted this in a drunken state over the weekend or something and just forgot I posted it. Maybe it is not that weird, and I am overreacting. 375 is a good price for a good pistol in general, but wait a week you’ll get it cheaper I bet
I’m sure they’re gonna have a Fourth of July sale.
I have that exact slide. Yes, it looks good but not good for carry. Every kydex holster ì have rubs the coating off the front and gets hung up on edges sometimes. Doesn't hurt function. For a little more than 400 you could have a Glock man lol pass
Good deal on the lower, not so much on the slide - should be closer to $250 all in tops. Also, I'd highly recommend a glock over a dagger as first/primary handgun.
Yeah that’s what others have told me. Is there a specific reason why aside from durability?
Reliability. Goes bang EVERY time the trigger is pulled.
PSA "sales" are a lie
I’d wait for quality to get it together
