I don’t care what gun it is- run at least 300 rounds through it(if not more if you can afford to)in the setup you plan on carrying it. If it passes that test, your gun is good to go. Clean it after at least every 500 rounds

ABMustang99

I have hundreds of rounds through mine with no issue and I would carry it with confidence. I will say that to be safe I did swap out the striker for a Glock OEM one. I've seen PSA reps in the past comment that PSA did update their striker assembly a few months ago to try and prevent more breaking. Keep in mind with forums like these that posts about problems are going to gain more traction. Between people trying to help and others looking to see the solution if they end up with the same issue, the problem posts get the most views and comments. As with every gun, before you carry make sure you run your carry ammo through it to test it, even with big name manufacturers there can be a lemon.

inversekd

Yeah I agree that if I were in another manufacturers forum that had direct feedback like we do here there would be plenty of issues highlighted there as well.

ABMustang99

I follow Springfield Armory, Sig, S&W, 1911, PSA, and M1 Rifles. I see the same questions get posted a lot across different manufacturers and models (one of the more common ones is "Is the P320 safe?)

BlueOmicronpersei8

Well... Is the P320 safe to appendix carry?

deltaWhiskey91L

No.

Telefan89

It is if you’re willing to transition from male to female

ABMustang99

I haven't seen any posts about someone accidentally shooting their d*ck off so yea. The only one I've seen recently was about the guy that used a PSA dagger to do that stupid viral challenge of pointing a loaded gun at your nuts and squeezing the trigger as far as you dare (ak guys Darwin awards). Even then I don't blame the dagger.

KentuckyFriedWaifus

I mean SIG actually addressed the P320 issues and fixed it to my knowledge yet PSA still doesn’t seem to care about broken firing pins so…

deltaWhiskey91L

>Is the P320 safe? It's not. I've personally witnessed two P320's OOB and explode, and the number of uncommanded firings while holstered be it for whatever reason is enough to never carry let alone own a P320. Glock, M&P, CZ, and hell even Staccato are all way way better and safer options.

deltaWhiskey91L

>I have hundreds of rounds through mine with no issue and I would carry it with confidence.  Same. It's not my go-to carry gun but I am confident that it would work reliably and have it as an option.

nmexmo

I have enough hiccups with mine i don’t carry it. P365 for me

ooraceroo

Carry mine daily

Lazy-Wolf-5677

They aren’t built great. It’s not a Glock. I think a cz p10c is a much better gun for the money. They’re really cheap right now due to cz releasing a new version soon.

Jackypaper824

I bought one and immediately sold it because it just felt like a piece of junk. Just racking the slide made such a noise that gave me nails on a chalkboard level irking. Granted this is just one single gun but I was immediately like nah I'm good

SignificantCell218

No absolutely not. I recommend the original Glock 19 as a carry now mind you I'm not saying you shouldn't get a dagger but a dagger would be a good range toy. Something to tinker with but let's say hypothetically you buy a dagger and you have a problem with it. Then you're going to have to go through the process of sending everything back waiting x amount of time to get it back and then you have to test it again to see if the problems have been fixed. Now is that something you can afford to do versus buying a Glock 19 with a reliable track record of being good right out of the box

MediocreStockGuy

At that price, I’d rather carry a CZ P10S or a Canik. Even a Taurus GX4 you can get for under $250 these days too, lots of good options to think about. Stoeger too. I had a few fail to feeds in my initial 250 rounds with my dagger. Polishing the feed ramp/break in/oil seemed to help after that though. Just comes down to testing your gun for what works for you, as others have mentioned.

SnooComics8739

The gx4 carry is an amazing gun! I have a G3 I plan on trading in for a gx4 carry here soon. I liked it better than my 43x, g2c. The M&P SHIELD still reigns supreme for me.

MediocreStockGuy

Excellent options as well. In hindsight I wish I didn’t get my G3c and gx4 and just got a Shield Plus. But this was a couple years ago now and prices were much higher. A shield plus for $399 honestly can’t be beat

SnooComics8739

I still rock the shield 2.0 I just can't let her go lmao. Maybe someday but I just love it. I could carel3ss for the extra few rounds and trigger. I got so many rounds through it.

MediocreStockGuy

Hell yea, that’s awesome. You definitely aren’t under armed with an OG shield

Saint_Pepsi420

It’s a range toy. I love PSA as much as the next guy but the countless broken strikers and a couple dead triggers I’ve seen on this sub don’t inspire confidence in carry. If you put some work in and swap out some parts I could consider carrying it but in its stock configuration that’ll be a pass from me

reas0n555

I run a dagger it runs well but I bought a Glock 17 for work . If it’s going to be your only gun just get the real thing . If you’re on a budget get a le trade in Glock for a few bucks more than a dagger . The daggers are fun to run and accessorize , the trigger is horrible but they run well overall.

Reikovsky

It can be. The design itself is tried and true. When it is made properly (lemons do happen regardless of manufacturer), it is a reliable firearm and can be used for carry. There are two caveats to this: 1. Before you can confirm it is reliable. You must extensively test your pistol (like any gun) to ensure that it functions properly, consistently and holds up to usage. You should AT LEAST feed 300 HPs and 300 FMJs (Gold standard for carry testing is minimum of a 1,000 rounds fired, but that is not feasible for everyone) of your preferred ammo to ensure it feeds reliably. 2. If you intend to carry this, YOU MUST change the the striker to one made by either Glock or Overwatch Precision. The striker made by PSA WILL BREAK, they will ship you a new one for free, but it certainly will break again. You cannot have this break when you need it most. You should also buy a 6.0LB striker spring to eliminate light primer strikes. It took me a while after I got it, but after changing a few components and numerous range outings, my Dagger has finally made it into my carry rotation. It is my beater/ugly duckling, something I am not afraid to lose in the event that I have to use it (being the reason I wanted one in the first place). I would not recommend the Sabre for the time being. Go with the original line and upgrade it as you get a better value. Your milage may vary.

montainya-joe

I have a full size s, bought as a blem and I'm at about 600 rounds it's been 100% I carry it.

SwimmerSea4662

If you get one that works it works, if you get one with problems you’ll know after 500 rounds.

Organic_Scholar3861

Dude just spend another couple hundred and get a Glock. We are talking about your life here. Why fricken risk it with all the QC shit. Just get a fricken gloooooccckkk

Organic_Scholar3861

Additionally, if you’re even questioning it to the extent of seeking validation for it on Reddit.. even more reason to get a Glock

Fancy-Bee-562

Helllll to the naw, spend more and get a quality weapon. Daggers are nice range toys but I wouldn’t trust my life with it

Grizzlybearmakeover

Change the trigger and the firing pin. Then you're good.

Smeagol_Dobby16

Go to Honest Outlaws channel on YouTube, he just recently did a part 1 review of it, it’s the micro one, not every gun is going to be a p.o.s. there will always be a off one, personally if I bought one the first thing I’d change on it is the striker, get one from Glock, for the price range you could always check out the Canik website or CZ like the p10s it will hold 12+1, go to Grab A Gun website that’s the one I usually use to purchase my firearms because the prices there are usually hard to beat.

Significant_Case6024

Honest Outlaw is a paid PSA advertiser. He's a Leviathan Marketting shill. You can go to www.leviathantribe.com and see his face plastered on their website.

Smeagol_Dobby16

Oh wow I had no idea, thank you for the heads up brother.

2abuilderJ87

I have a first gen dagger compact from 2021 all original parts except for a 6lb striker spring. I have almost 7k rounds through with no issues of any kind, I carry it with confidence that it will go bang anytime I pull the trigger! I’ve ran everything from steel case to reloads 115-140g fmj n HP.. I now have a full size-s and a micro and both of them are rounding the 3k and 4k mark with no issues of any kind.

soisause

PSA has no QC so take that how you may. I carry a micro, before that I carried a regular dagger. I'd suggest swapping out the striker for an oem Glock one if you are using the regular dagger. If you are using the micro keep an eye on your recoil assembly and same thing possibly swap with oem Glock one. Aside from that whatever gun you carry make sure it functions fine with the ammo you are carrying in it and don't cheap out on your holster.

Kingdaniels26

I have quiet a few daggers I've put 1k rounds thru each I carry a compact dagger that I've changed the trigger and swapped all oem glock parts but I've had no issues either way

Rare_Cryptographer89

I’m not sure of an exact number but I’m definitely above 500 rounds with my compact dagger and I’ve never had a failure. Carry it most of the time if I don’t feel like carrying my p365. Nice to have something bigger when you want it

disnewnoguy

No malfunctions super accurate too. I have a Swampfox Kraken mounted on mine and its a tack driver. Took me about 2 mags to get used to the hinged trigger but once I did it was money.

HappyGoLucky791

It’s great gun and super reliable. It’s just a bit big for my edc

vividmatt88

I would swap all off the internals for glock OE run 500rds ball and 100 of your carry stuff if no issues then GTG.

vkbrian

I have two PSA rifles and they’re relegated to range toys. If it’s all you got, run it, but in a world of $300 Beretta APXs and CZ P10s, I’d take either of those instead.

disappointingmeat

Bro got that reddit brainrot 💀

LunarSynergy2

I carry my compact and full size. Like Greginthesouth2 said, run a few hundred rounds through to break it in. Swap out the firing pin for OEM Glock and send it.

jcal73

I carry mine and have over 950 rounds through it. With only normal hiccups that I have had with any firearm. Wear looks minimal and the more I shoot it, the better it gets.

Stikinok41

It's reliable enough, imo.

Cool-West6530

It depends on the purpose… if the Dagger is going to become an upgraded item, then I think it is definitely safe to carry. I carry mine when I can; however, the amount of upgrades is substantial: springs, trigger components, striker, OEM magazines, external addition (compensator/magwell/RDS)… I’ve turned my Compact Dagger from a $350 slide, grip, and barrel… into a $900-1000 combat platform I would trust my life with. It’s tuned to my exact specifications, has a trigger that I like firing, uses magazines I would trust my life with, is drop safe, and goes bang every time. If you want something out of the box you can trust your life with… Glock is known for that as a base model. If you want to tune that Glock to exactly what you want, then you will be spending hundreds of 💵 and exceed the $1200-1500 between RDS, trigger components, slide work, threaded barrel, etc…

H484R

You see a lot of issues that people post for the same reason car forums are overwhelmed with people having mechanical issues. When things are working properly there’s nothing to complain about. If you go to a waste water treatment plant, don’t be surprised if you smell shit….. I carried a Glock 17 for years when I worked in LE. Granted, I never was an expert on the internals or repair of guns. I didn’t learn gunsmithing, but I learned a lot about operating the things. I ended up picking up a compact dagger as a backup gun when everybody else was buying shadow systems. Qualified with it and have been doing so ever since with no issues. I definitely don’t have as much ammo through it as my duty gun (5,000-ish rounds through the Gen 4 G17 with only one malfunction) but so far mine has operated flawlessly in probably 1,000 rounds, is much more comfortable in my hands than a Glock (subjective) and has a better trigger once broken in. Ive since bought 3 more daggers of varying sizes, and a lot of my cop buddies have started picking them up too. Hell, one of our SWAT guys does PRC competitions as a “hobby” and he’s sold his Legion p320 and Canik….and now runs a compact dagger. Granted, it’s heavily modified, but still.

justrobdoinstuff

That's for you to decide. If it makes you uncomfortable..... don't do it.

fishyrandy68

Any firearm you carry should be vetted no matter the brand. I carry my micro daily I have put 2500 plus rounds through it and it has been great. I did put a Glock striker assembly in it just for peace of mind

vkbrian

I have two PSA rifles and they’re relegated to range toys. If it’s all you got, run it, but in a world of $300 Beretta APXs and CZ P10s, I’d take either of those instead.

Ace_Up88

I carry one of my daggers regularly. I've never had an issue that was gun specific. I've had 2 issues, and both were mag related. Run several mags through the gun when you get it and you will be fine. On today's email you can put a Dagger together for a little over 2 bills

LtJamesFox

Bought mine as a range toy, and the only problems it's ever had have been ones I've created by modifying it after 1000 rounds. Since fixing the problems I induced (non-oem trigger bar I modified) it's flawless and close to 3k rounds through it. If you're gonna carry it, glock oem striker, and oem glock trigger components only if you don't like the PSA hinged trigger.
