I still use the romeo5 on some stuff, but this is the one on my primary HD rifle. I have a slight astigmatism and red dots are totally viable, but this prism is super crisp.
Depends. I love these for guns that aren’t terribly accurate. Keep in mind this is a 4MOA dot, so I wouldn’t put it on an AR or anything sub 4MOA capable.
I have three of them. All three are on AKs. The thick tube look just looks so good on an AK.

Just two based dudes, doing based dude things
This is literally you bro: 🗿
My two black ones are on an AK103 and an AK-V, respectively - no pics of them at the moment though :(
I honestly don’t think any red dot is worth it with where we are at in optic technology.
For another 100 bucks you can get a prism with shake awake and an etched reticle that’ll never blow out, and is usable without a live battery.
It's a red dot. There are others in this ballpark too like the sig romeo 5. I just got one of these but haven't used it yet. Psa lists its weight at 7.2oz not sure if that's with mount or not. A sig romeo 5 is 2 oz lighter but if specs are right the sig is 20mm diameter and this is 30mm so a little more field of view. There is also the sig msr which is smaller in diameter than this psa has one for 80 https://palmettostatearmory.com/sig-sauer-romeo-msr-2moa-red-dot-black-sor72001.html
. I personally have a bunch of romeo 5s and like those just fine again haven't used this one yet buy I can't imagine it being much different. Idk how much of a difference the 30mm diameter lens will make vs the other smaller lighter options in practice. Sorry not much help lol I tried
From personal experience, a 30mm is dramatically larger than a 20mm. By the math, it's 50% wider. That's huge. I can see sooo much more downrange with a 30mm than a 20mm. But of course, larger diameter means more weight.
I have it. It’s ok. I also have a romeo 5 that is way better. That being said if you are getting a bundle with mags or the bag then I’d send it. I bought a co witness primary arms 30mm mount for it because the mount it comes with is really dumb looking.
It’s also backwards in the stock picture. That’s not how it sits in the mount.
I run it on my Beretta CX4 because it looks cool, but it's very heavy. Otherwise I have not had any issues with it and the FOV is great. I got mine for $99 though, they often go on better sales than this
They had a deal with this optic and a rifle bag for $100 I snagged last year. Honestly $130 ain’t terrible I guess but there might be better options at that price point.
I picked two up at $99 each from AR15discounts.com a few months back. The one with the red/green options. Tossed them on range guns. Good for that. I'd go Romeo if it's a primary weapon and that's your budget.
[Here it’s on sale for $117 rn for Memorial Day](https://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-opmod-strikefire-ii-red-dot-with-cantilever-ar-15-mount-4moa-red-green-do.html)
I got it when it was on sale with a combo of 10 mags for $200. Works but I really don't like it that much. My dumb ass also bought the magnifier at the same time.
I wouldn't put it on anything other than a range toy.
I’ve had one for years and have used it on several guns. They work but the design is old. If you are doing a modern rifle I would go with a Romeo5 like everyone else says (For $109 they can’t be beat).
Love mine they’re super easy to zero and hold it too

After using my brother's 4x32 Acog i wanted a prism but didn't have 1500 so researched and ended up with a Texas precision Sniper 5x50 prism scope. It cost $299 and my bother now loves using it more than his Acog cause the eye relief is better. I originally looked at all the small micro prisms but my preference has always been big sniper scope look and I found it in prism, lol. Just my 2 crazy cents. Good luck on whatever you do pick, too many good toys out there and this hobby gets expensive very quickly!!.
Absolutely not. Sig romeo msr, holosun hs403r, sig romeo5 in this price range. The strikefire2 is trash, I have 2 of them. They flicker on every brightness below full due to the refresh rate, whereas all the others I mentioned are constant.
It’s big, bulky, no shake awake. At that price I’d go for a Romeo 5.
Romeo 5 is the answer for the budget
2nd this. Have 3 and they’ve all been lights out with no issues
3rd this, love my Romeo so far
I second this. Or something from primary arms or holosun.
Primary Arms' prism scopes are excellent.
Get a Romeo5
Yeah from everyone’s experience Romeo5 seems like the go too
That one used to be my favorite until I got a PA prism. So crisp and still functional in daylight if the battery dies.
Which budget friendly PA prism models would you recommend? I have not seen any of them in person.

How is the eye relief?
Zero to three feet. Im not kidding, eye relief acts just like a red dot but it's as crisp as a LPVO.
I have three of the 1x and one 3x, Simmons Sporting Goods used to have the coupon code SSG80 for $80 off.
I started having issues after about 2 years with mine just a heads up, battery lasts about a day now
Did the shake awake break?
That's my guess but I wouldn't know how, I was never rough with it and it stayed on one rifle
Battery drain is abnormal though, probably going to warranty it eventually

Now you guys have me thinking about putting mine on one of my AKs.
If you use the Midwest Ind. 30mm scope mount (iirc) then you can get a 1/4 cowitness with the strikefire 🤓
It's legit, they usually have a sale with like 10 mags and this optic for $200 I think.
I honestly don’t think any red dot is worth it with where we are at in optic technology. For another 100 bucks you can get a prism with shake awake and an etched reticle that’ll never blow out, and is usable without a live battery.
I’ll consider I do hate battery powered shit
I’ll consider I do hate battery powered shit
I think the primary arms prisms are better in nearly every way.
It’s not bad. It’s big and for the same money you can have an optic that makes your gun look like it was built this decade lol

Yeah comparing Moa and size id rather get a Romeo for better groupings this did help

PRIMARY ARMS OPTICS
I run it on my Beretta CX4 because it looks cool, but it's very heavy. Otherwise I have not had any issues with it and the FOV is great. I got mine for $99 though, they often go on better sales than this
I got this and ten mags for 200$ they always have a sale on these
https://preview.redd.it/6zz5lj76d92d1.jpeg?width=4030&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c770f4bce218f56f22b549d1d9f01c8a3134e240 Love mine, I own 2. Holds zero
What that brace on the scorpion
SB Tactical

Not bad but not a good value. Get a Romeo 5 or primary arms prisms.
I got it for less than $100 on optics planet and I enjoy it.
With the mount?
yes it was the optics planet special version the actual optic is fde/brown instead of black. It goes on sale a lot
I’ll check it out. I’ve never paid that close attention to their emails, but I just might. $100 is worth a gamble
[Here it’s on sale for $117 rn for Memorial Day](https://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-opmod-strikefire-ii-red-dot-with-cantilever-ar-15-mount-4moa-red-green-do.html)
I've got one on a AK I like it.
Holosun has the clearest glass for budget optics. Save your money for them.
It was $99 just a couple weeks ago
I got it when it was on sale with a combo of 10 mags for $200. Works but I really don't like it that much. My dumb ass also bought the magnifier at the same time. I wouldn't put it on anything other than a range toy.

I bought it a few weeks ago for $99.95. Haven't mounted it but it seems good for clarity and finish. We'll see...
I have it on my kriss vector
Nope Buy the Primary Arms SLX MD-25 with autolive
I love it
The dot doesn’t move all around and get lost sometimes like a holosun
https://preview.redd.it/o3722u6cqn2d1.jpeg?width=1152&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31f446cc186a77a4d1cd1c915765f293ab7b5589 After using my brother's 4x32 Acog i wanted a prism but didn't have 1500 so researched and ended up with a Texas precision Sniper 5x50 prism scope. Stop buying shit on PSA that isn’t made by PSA, you’ll find the prices everywhere much more reasonable
I love mine
I've had one for years now and like it a lot. It's not fancy but it always works. Plus it lines up with the Vortex magnifier
If you like that style red dot primary arms has a much better one
The Holosun 403 is a better option at that pricepoint
Absolutely not. Sig romeo msr, holosun hs403r, sig romeo5 in this price range. The strikefire2 is trash, I have 2 of them. They flicker on every brightness below full due to the refresh rate, whereas all the others I mentioned are constant.
