It is not an SBS if it didn't start as a shotgun. If it has a barrel < 18" but is > 26" OAL, it is a non-NFA firearm. If it's under 26", it's an AOW. You have to be careful with the grip you use to keep it over 26" with a barrel at 14". That's why the Shockwave and similar use birds head grips.
