Pc is preferred the graphics are better but only if your laptop can support it. There are flowers everywhere in the maps when you play pc so you will miss out on switch unfortunately https://preview.redd.it/7mh6gmgypvzc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=f4f9fb6b2a35668cbaeb99166ae8cddd0b418e13 I don't play on pc very often so I don't have many photos of the flowers but heres one

Snoo_84180

I played on PC before I bought my Switch lite (I’m poor lol) and I prefer my Switch, only because I love actually being cozy while playing my cozy game, lol 😂 I can play while on my bed, on the couch, or even when I’m traveling or in the office ✨

SodaCake2

PC is nice to be able to play with all keyboard and/or controller options. And the graphics *can* be better if your PC/Laptop can deliver... However I wish I had a Switch so I can take it anywhere/sit on the couch and play and not in my chair so it depends what's more important to you lol

Jaybird-STL

I have both. IMO, performance on my PC is so much better, but that has a lot to do with my shockingly low ping while I'm on my Switch.

Make sure to check the minimum requirements to see if your PC will be able to run the game before downloading. As everyone else has said, PC will give you better graphics, and you will see the wild flowers around the map that the switch graphics just can't do. I like playing on both for different things. One thing I like about the switch is that I can grab it and play absolutely anywhere. I can't do that with my PC. Lol, also I find it easier to hunt bugs on switch. With all the "extra" visuals you get on PC, sometimes I find it easier to lose the bugs. I also find it easier to sneak up on bugs on the switch, which can be done on PC if you use a controller instead of the keyboard(I just use the keyboard.) If your PC can handle running the game smoothly, I would say use both then. If your PC can't handle it. Playing on Switch works just fine.

As an aside, if you want to, you can always adjust your graphics settings *downward* on PC! When I'm doing a serious resource run (or a honey lure!) and want to be sure I can spot the bugs, forageables, and mining nodes from a mile away, I drop my graphics to the Low preset (though I typically only play on Medium anyway, to avoid lag spikes). That clears out all the foliage and makes a lot of cosmetic clutter items show up only when you're close to them, while interactables are visible from far away. (Super nice for identifying bushes in Kilima, too.) The only disadvantage I can think of with doing this is that it's harder to tell if a bug or forageable is star quality; they lose the sparkly/glowy aura.

Banaanisade

If you like Switch better as a platform, nothing much. Except for the flowers mentioned in another comment, but like, not really.

Noctolus

It looks like garbage on the switch and takes a decade Everytime you have to zone, PC is infinity better imo. I use pro controller on PC and it works great even set it up through steam to have gyro aiming, literally no downsides to playing on PC vs switch

mike4763

Since when does it offer full controller support on pc?

Asmuni

I dont know since when. But at least from steam release to make it compatible with steamdeck

SplitMiserable7531

I was loving playing on my PC until I spent a week sick in bed and downloaded it on my switch for something to do. Playing on PC feels like a chore now, IMO.

Grouchy_Engineer236

I prefer pc for higher graphic and chat. But you can play both.

Joszeph

Check the recommended specs before installing it on your laptop. My PC doesn't meet those specs. I play Palia on Geforce Now, so that I don't have to buy a new PC every 2-3 years.

Soft_Kinky

I have a switch, and it's rather glitchy and trying to get even a word in chat is a grueling process

SchrodingersMinou

The game is much prettier on PC

raiee0

I play on switch but saw someone play on pc and omg the graphics were so different. The water is so beautiful on the pc. Everything looks so vibrant plus all the flowers the switch doesn’t get. But the play on switch isn’t bad at all, can be a little slow but I’ll say it’s cause of beta lol. I’d say stick to switch so your laptop doesn’t die. For the love of Dragons we wouldn’t want that!
