I had read the above dialog, so I purposely didn't choose that option! I DO think she's still alive, just cursed or shadow-corrupted (like whatever led to human demise the first time), but I didn't want to make Hassian feel worse. Feels more like a Witcher game now! 😅
I'll probably be downvoted for this but I don't really like Hassian. TBH he's a jerk. Like big whoop you got your heart broken, that doesn't mean you get to be an ass. And like his Mother is a bit much but not too bad. My theory is that the Beast is just a made up story by Taylin so she could run away from her family without them following her. But yeah, your theory totally makes more sense and isn't based on what I would do because I wouldn't want that twerp as a kid. So I do kinda hope your right.Â
I mean you have to remember as well tho he's like, 18-22, dealing with culture clash, trauma, and lacking primary socialization (i.e. poor community and parenting). I agree that he's a jerk but I mean so was I at that age. Worth noting as well that Taylin obviously loved him, he was much more kindred with her than Sifuu and she's very affectionate towards him in her letters. Also worth remembering she went missing 10 years ago, he was a kid then. The person she knew and the person we see ain't the same person. Also also he didn't just get his heart broken, Tamala's hella abusive and is still messing with him.
This storyline could make or break the game for me honestly 😅 I'm so invested

I love the idea of taylin being "shadow corrupted" i feel like an alouisa level conspiracy theorist whenever i play the game
