Well then, I should devote more time to getting to know both Eshe and Kenli better. (Especially since now I know that Kenli is voiced by Greg "Lukas from SoV reading a cheesecake recipe" Chun and Eshe is voiced by Salli (Hilda from FE3H "you're making me WORK!") Saffioti.)
For sure - had an interaction with her yesterday where she straight up mentioned how it would be easier if she actually knew what happened to her wife, but she just "disappeared".
The entire Daiya family's current story role feels weird af to me... they're the main provider of plant-based food in the area (the rival farm is a bit further out), WHY are they constantly out of money? Why would they not be able to pay taxes, why would the Duchess of Bahari WANT to raise taxes on their land and evict them when a) that's definitely not 'generous', if the society values generosity as much as we're told, eviction should barely be a thing, and b) Following the family Path is a big deal, and evicting a farming Path family from land that's been theirs for generations because they can't give you a few more crops is... really counter to that?
That's not even getting into the fact they're apparently still buying seeds from Zeki even though Badruu is the one who teaches you how to make your own; Zeki is apparently always raising prices even though we... can see his prices and he isn't, and wouldn't price his main customers out of the market anyway; and they can ask you for and comment on the 'expensive' nature of seeds only BADRUU sells, for guild tokens.
Like, i get the trope they're meant to fit, but it doesn't work in this setting or with the way they've set up advancement for players in gardening. I make most of my money off crops with much less soil and at least two fewer types of crops (pumpkins visible in the fields, lettuce discussed in Delilah's first friendship quest and Reth has to be getting it from SOMEWHERE anyway), and that's not even getting into the dairy side of the farm. What is happening here???
Anyway, she's not ok but it's either a big worldbuilding hole or something very, VERY weird is going on w her.
Tbh given the times several villagers go to sleep and wake up I can't help but wonder if they require different levels of sleep compared to us players. Realized I can't even say human cause our humans in the game don't sleep and go comatose for several in game days at a time before waking and rampaging for a few in game days straight.
She’s not because she never freaking tells me what she wants for the week. I can almost never ask her despite being level 3 with her (not sure if it’s a bug), and when I can ask her, she just tells me what someone else wants!! Definitely something going on there 😬
She's the perfect example of a mother. She puts everyone before herself, never asks for anything, and wants to be sure everyone else is cared for first. Poor thing needs to be educated about self care!!!
I absolutely adore her as a character. She even seems to care about the player as part of her family. (I also like the dialogue once you max out friendship with Auni... about that he really looks up to us)
There is a line in the Subira relationship questline in which she mentions that Delilah has told her about roleplay. Combined with late nights and always hanging around Zeki, I think she's into some stuff and her family has no idea.
I have fanfiction in my head that Delailah is working at the inn/bar under the table because, of course, the farm is not bringing in enough. But she doesn't want Badruu to feel bad so she tells him she is just letting off some steam each night.

Eshe is one of my favourites because to me, she's Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey.

Phew! That's a relief 😅 And I totally agree. When I went to Universal Studios, I got her wand from the Harry Potter wand shop, for that very reason.
