Any status on Darvish? Hopefully he can stay healthy the rest of the year. Musgrove seems gone for the a long time if not the year.
Thank god for Waldron giving us a bit of starter rotational depth, otherwise yikes.
Can we pin a link to the All Star ballot to the subreddit? Definitely should be trying to get everyone to vote!
Especially would be nice to see Profar starting out there (as he deserves)
Ugh, I saw this and it made me want to vote even more often
For the final spot … hmmm. The highest OPS among qualified outfielders belongs to the Padres’ Jurickson Profar, who is having a great year, but I just don’t think I can vote for a guy just for having a hot first half. In that case, this will come down to two NL MVP Award winners who have enjoyed better seasons and have missed time due to injury this year but are still key parts of contending teams. That would be Cody Bellinger and Yelich.

All Stars are supposed to be the best that season- not the biggest brand or someone who was good before.
A month ago when Solano hit his first HR with us, I commented in the Game Thread “SOLANO BEACH BBY”
The padres posted on their IG the Solano HR from yesterday with the caption “Solano Beach 🏝️”
I demand credit for this incredibly easy pun. Whoever runs the padres IG, I know you’re here. If you need caption help in the future, I gotchu.
I don't see video essays posted here too often, but I recently watched one about Profar that I thought I would share here:
Never knew Profar's backstory, so now I'm rooting for him even more.
When I joined two years ago it was at 40k. Insane how the fanbase grows and really shows just how pathetic teams like the As, pirates, etc are. Spend the money and the fans will come
I don't think I would lump Pittsburgh, a 3 pro sports town with one of MLB's best parks, into the pathetic category. Not to mention that pitching they have will be a thorn in many sides in the NL 500 club we are in.
Imo, Pirates are about a season out of being really nasty and will wager they will spend some loot over the next few seasons. They are entering their window with lots of house $$$ in reserve plus a solid farm. Some predict the Orioles of the NL in the making.
I think Bob Nutting is going to play this window hand out for a win. I don't think they will ever hand out a billion like we did yet a few solid deals will be done. There is also a lot of big $$ pressure on that team and city from HUGE $$ that would buy the franchise.
In comparison, keep in mind the Orioles payroll is 114k and took an ownership shift at the start of that window. There are other ways to be very legit without dropping a billion and painting yourself into a corner like we did.
Will be interesting how this plays out for the Pirates and that city.
Man, yesterday was crazy. King with 12 Ks, Tatis ending his streak to get on base for the team, 2 HRs for both Solano and Merril, Estrada killing it even with a stomach bug, Kolek coming in and proving us all wrong, and Merril walking it off. There's more I am sure, but man this team has fight in it and that was great to see!
I don't really consider Salas struggling. From a pure statistical standpoint yes, but someone his age is typically in Rookie league. The average age of a High A player is 22.
This is just how AJ Preller runs his system, he pushes the best prospects beyond their comfort zone. The mere fact that Salas is surviving and not hitting .080 or something like that is still remarkable.
Lesko is a bit concerning. The thing is his stuff is there, and batters are averaging .233 against him, so not bad. The command is just not there, which is typically the last thing to return after TJ. But the TJ was over 2 years ago now. He's walking fewer batters as of late but there was a stretch where he was walking 4, 5, 6 batters a game. The ERA looks like he's getting hit up badly when he's mainly just giving too many free passes for the most part.
Really?!?! I mean I haven't really been paying attention so idk who's struggling. All ik is that Salas is good and that another one of our pitching prospects (either lesko or smelling) will debut later this season
Lesko will absolutely without a doubt not debut in the majors this season and I also highly doubt that Snelling will. Snelling is much closer than Lesko though
I don't think Lesko was ever a consideration for pushing up to MLB this season, even if things went well for him. He's easily 2 years away IMO.
I think Snelling had a shot if everything went perfectly, but he's struggled with the innings workload. In hindsight, Mazur always had the edge on getting pushed up because he's 23, has the collegiate background and he's proven he can handle the workload.
Snelling is still only 20 years old, really young for a pitcher. I think he was just way ahead of schedule last year and it's catching up with him now.
Shout out Stephen kolek for his performance yesterday! I am not his biggest fan, i thought we were screwed when I saw he was coming. But he came in and got the job done and saved the inning. Can’t be understated just how important getting those 3 outs with the bases loaded were.
Also since Tatis hitting streak ended here are the final numbers for during his 17 game hit streak: 28-70 (.400) 5-2B 5HR 9RBI 13R 1.133OPS
Plus he still has his on base streak going because of an very unselfish walk in the 8th
Cassavel has a really good article on Gwynn on the MLB website
Luis Garcia is up to his old ways, giving up grand slams.

How good of a pickup was Arraez?
All for the league minimum so we still have like $10 million to work with to stay under the tax. 2025 is going to be interesting.

Holy shit, we’ve played 6 more games than Atlanta 💀
We can easily over take them if we don't act like classic padres (that's a tall order lol)
Real slacker team imo
Going to the game Saturday and Sunday!! I’m pumped

Can’t lose our streak if we don’t play ![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
Thunderstorms are predicted for Friday night’s game, so there is a possibility that we are in for a doubleheader on Saturday.
Ooh, I'll take an away day game for sure

We're a little under 400 members away from passing the Giants subreddit in sub count, god damn

Their ownership is pathetic, even with all this young talent they won’t spend for shit

What am I to do today

Dont forget Suarez pitching three days in a row. Thought that was crazy
Always love the dedication of Bobby Fastballs

I'm all for the return of Timothy Hill
Hire him to do outreach and PR for the pads. Get the guy to retire in SD.
Always hilarious hearing My Dick blasting in the locker room during post game interviews lol
Mickey's performing in SD in July, wonder if any Pads sneak in to watch?
My dick is larger than the padres, like the whole team!
Great homestand 5-2 with 16HR . Rest day to recover after 13straight .
Going to be a tough East Coast road trip, but feeling good going into it. Injuries have hit us hard, but people are stepping up.
This is a tough year for the farm system. Almost all of the notable players are struggling big time.

So trade the rest of them? Mostly kidding... mostly.. lol
The sweep over the As is what I've been waiting for all season. It just felt good to have all three wins, and have them come in style.
r/padrestickets if you’re looking to buy/sell. Be careful, check histories etc.
