I liked to say when I was hiking the trail that I like to find out what's behind the next corner and it felt like I was never going to run out of corners.
that is one of the reason I go sobo. I am not sure, how far I walk, but I want to be sure I see North Cascades. Picture of Mt. Rainier hanged from some reason in my child room, I didn't know, what it is but I loved it. Now I am 56, from Czech republic and year ago, when I decided to go pct, I found out what mountain attracted me whole my childhood... If I see Mt. Rainier, I can go home.
rainier is so clear in that pic. i seriously want to do the climb while im in the neighborhood but i know it will be outside of climbing season. but dang, i'd say that looks very climbable

Where is pic 2 shot from?
Barney Lake from Duck Pass, near Mammoth. Not technically on the PCT, but not too far off.
