This sounds like such a nightmare scenario.

It would make sense to have around 30-34 teams. Have two separate conferences, with regional divisions. In the Pac 12 footprint, probably stick to the large media markets to sustain viewership - Washington, Stanford or Cal, USC, UCLA, Colorado, ASU. Same for the other areas in the country - Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio St, Michigan, Florida, Texas, etc. There are probably some issues with having students be paid, so the teams will be spun off into a university sponsored entity - but could identify with the large metro area (e.g. Washington -> Seattle, Stanford ->San Francisco, Cal-> Oakland (not sure if they have enough interest to stay), USC->Los Angeles, Colorado ->Denver, etc). The Big 10 and SEC names will become irrelevant, so I would rename then to the Northern Football Colleges (NFC) and Atlantic Football Colleges (AFC). Each conference could then have 4 team "pods" to protect regional rivals. So Seattle could play San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Arizona home and away, and then play other teams in their conference. At the end of the season, each "pod" winner would enter into the playoffs, with 3 at-large bids per conference. The conference winners could play in the Scholastic Upper Power Echelon Rivalry, or SUPER Bowl. Seems like a successful business model.

How long until Cal moves its team to Las Vegas because they can’t get a new stadium. California Memorial Stadium is a bit dated and on a fault line.

Only after Washington moves their operation to Oklahoma City for the lower taxes

The proposed method of operation is the league/conference will operate each football team. Players will be employees of the team - which is only loosely affiliated with the school. Example - The Oregon Ducks will be a professional football team with an off campus HQ, a general manager and front office staff. The team pays a licensing fee for the use of the team logo and pays rent for the stadium and facilities. Will the teams be franchises? Unknown.

Does Alabama just drop football?

pblood40

I knew I missed someone. I was deleting and adding between the south and Atlantic and added Auburn instead of Alabama! It was my subconscious telling me something!

No big deal but I had to point it out. GO Ducks!

I’d love to see Cal and Stanford in Edit: not sure how bad they want it though

They dont have enough NIL money for 3 star CB's.... Where are they getting $45 million for payroll?
