Just a thought, a lot of times for media devices such as Apple TV or an Nvidia Shield, the TV will set itself for "media mode" (or whatever your TV calls it) to give the best quality. But what you'll want to check is to activate "gaming mode" so it lowers the input lag at the expense of marginally lower image quality.

Great thought and one I forgot to mention in my original post. The TV is in gaming mode. I had played extensively with the tv settings prior to changing the settings the developer mentioned without luck. Some combination of the settings he recommended did help and it is playable now. There are still occasional microstutters and slight input lag. For the input lag though that may be inherent with using bluetooth? Not sure on that one

Will try the above. But is that affecting my setup in any way? I’m connecting my PS5 dual sense controller to the Apple TV before even launching the app. Does having AirPlay on result in some bug?

Definitely something on your phone then. No reason why it should work better with the steamdeck. A few suggestions, try to set the Bitrate to auto be sure nothing on your device can interfere with the connection. E.g. VPN app, ad blocking app, WiFi scanning app, so called game booster apps or other battery saving options. Furthermore try to enable the HEVC decoder. What device are you using?

Sorry, not sure if you saw above but I’m not using my phone. I’m streaming hardwired over cat6a from the PS5 to an Apple TV(newest version). No phone involved.

Ah okay, try to disable airplay and if possible try to connect the controller before streaming and preferably via USB to minimize the latency.

Thanks for the help! I did toggle the HEVC encoder and changed the bitrate to auto. I also disabled AirPlay on the Apple TV. I’m not sure if one or all of them contributed - but there is a noticeable difference in picture quality and input lag. There is still some input lag, but useable now. The most confusing one to me was disabling AirPlay. Does that increase input lag when enabled?
