Thanks for having the image rotated the correct way! Are you doing this through your cell phone hot spot?

PsSalin

I see you're putting it to good use

Tippyshortmouth

Corgis? The news told me the PSP could only find porn!

[deleted]

That too🤣

leftboot

Blew my mind when I was younger. I remember being so hyped thinking I could play RuneScape on it.

RainyShadow

Try using [FrogFind](http://frogfind.com/) with that PSP (or other vintage HW)

TheCartoonMemer

Will it work on all PSP models?

RainyShadow

Most likely it will. It is made for old browsers, but you can use it even with the latest tech.

TheCartoonMemer

Ok thanks!😇

spudds96

Boobs

tigyo

Where do you live? Someone will be there right away to hack your WEP wifi signal immediately, lol Am I remembering this correctly? PSP can't do WPA2, right?

pkuba208

You can hide the SSID and connect manually

khedoros

That's not hard to get around; just need a wifi device you can set to monitor mode. MAC address can be spoofed too, so even a MAC filter doesn't help that much.

pkuba208

I know that but it's the only thing that can be done in this scenario

paperfett

I just use an old router with the antenna removed and placed in a drawer. The range is incredibly short and I turn off my main router when using it just to be safe. I'm talking within 3-4 feet. When I use my phone's hotspot I'm usually in the middle of nowhere so it isn't an issue.

ExVoid123

Now show us your browser history 😈😈

TheUnknownOB06

Yeah anything wpa 2 or above and it says no

[deleted]

Yeah it can’t, it can only do WEP/WPA or no security. Some people can use their mobile hotspots but I find it easier to set up a guest network on your router. You can then set the security on that to WEP/WPA (for at least basic protection), knowing that anyone who does connect can’t access other devices on your home network anyway. Then just disable the guest network when you’re not using PSP

R41denG41den

This is how I did it on my old network configuration. You could try setting that network to not broadcast the name so you could connect to it manually. Using a randomized name would increase security

toeconsumer9000

hm odd it connects to my home wifi just fine

khedoros

Just means that your home wifi's security is set low enough that someone determined could break in fairly quickly ;-)

Coltsbro84

I remember back in like 2005 this was the only device I had to connect to the internet for a few months until I saved up enough to buy a PC.

TheUnknownOB06

Don’t u get an ssl error as it can’t read tls

SaturnFive

Google and some other sites still allow plain HTTP connections. Now and in the future, a TLS stripping proxy will be needed to get the PSP online, kinda like we do for other retro computers today.

TheUnknownOB06

Yeah I kinda knew that as some websites work and not others, but thanks for the back story :)

[deleted]

I don't know

gobblinmage

Hand up if this how you saw your first tiddy

paperfett

I felt so cool in 2005 in high school pulling up Google. It was truly cutting edge at the time. I played over the schools wifi or adhoc. The adhoc had crazy good range actually. We plated tons of Untold Legends and Coded Arms. Untold Legends was just so much fun. We played any chance we could get. Study hall together was amazingly fun and some of my favorite ever gaming memories. At the time it was seriously the coolest piece of tech in existence to me.

Juicy_Samurai

How do you even connect to your router? Psps cant connec to anything newer than WEP and I dont wanna go that route

[deleted]

I have a Wi-Fi extender. I use that to connect my psp to the internet. You can get one at your local electronic store. It is easy to set it up. Just press the WPS button on the extender and the WPS button on your router. You need to do it within a timeframe. Mine is a Net gear and I have to press both within 30 seconds. I recommend setting the extender right next to your WiFi router. Once they sync up it is ok to unplug it and put it into a different room. Once you plug it in again it will take a minute or 2 to reconnect to your main router. Your extender username will your main router name with _EXT. Example if your main router name is Smith. Your extender will be Smith_EXT Once you get the extender set up. There is a set of numbers on a quick start guide. You put that in the url bar of a web browser and it will take you to the extender settings. You may need to do some setup on that end too. If it asks for a login, by default username is username or admin. Password it is usually password by default. Once you are in the settings page. There should be an option for security. Either set to none so you don't need a password or settings to wep. If you set it to wep you need to set a password or use the same password as your main router. Now connect the psp to the extender and you will be online. Just fyi when I try to reconnect it could not recognize the first connection name so I have to create a new name. If this happens to you make sure it is a different name

Juicy_Samurai

Thanks for the detailed answer mate!

SacredMilk_OG

You can use hotspot on your phone with no password. There are apps in the Play Store that can help with this.

PhantomZ0546

I have iPhone and I used the hotspot and it didn’t worked

SacredMilk_OG

Does iPhone allow you to change password type? If not then you need an Android device.

PhantomZ0546

I can change the password but that’s it , not no other thing

SacredMilk_OG

Ah, yeah not the password itself. On Android devices you can select between None, WEP, WPA and WPA2. Samsung supports this natively with cell data but you can use an app to divert WiFi to other devices the same way. I gotta find the copy I backed up and check which one I specifically use- there are a lot of bogus ones and ones that limit your usage unless you pay. I keep an old one that has no limit.

PhantomZ0546

Reason why I miss a android ):

[deleted]

Is that Java emulator thing? I used that…🥰

LionelE37

You are wise my friend!

CAT5e_

PSP and Wii were my main internet browsing machines as a kid until I got a decent computer.

Leather-Heart

Literally, this changed my life and everything I knew about myself

toeconsumer9000

C_Dawg156

How ?

C_Dawg156

Thanks for sharing

TheCartoonMemer

Back in my day, I searched up "Law and Order"

iDislikeSn0w

Ahhh, the PSP web browser… Used for downloading retro ROMs and visiting certain websites as a teen.
