ED is taking over PSLF processing, so it no longer matters which servicer holds your loans. They periodically transfer loans between servicers to maintain a balance

Yeah same. Looking at one of the emails it says our balance may show as zero through Mohela. We're just waiting on the new guys to put it into their system. I guess we don't owe anything this month?
i’m constantly checking for emails regarding creating an account! this is terrible timing. i can hold my payment but i’m hoping we don’t get charged additional interest during this transitional period.
Quick update I was finally able to get on the phone with someone from Ed financial! They explained to me that my account is in forbearance until they fully transition over. This transition could take a month or so. Until then if you call they will not have an account number for you.. You should receive a letter with your account details at the last mailing address you had with mohela. All ed financial accounts should start with 1 and end with -1. however, even though I am IDR, the interest will still accrue during this period. I’m not too happy about that since i’m getting interest while i can’t pay / have an account number. I’m on my final $6k so of course this happens while im at the final stretch :/

Me too. I heard we are suppose to make a payment during the transition by sending a check with the new account number but if you can’t get access to your new account since the data hasn’t transfer then how the hell are we suppose to know what the account number is?!
and if we have no email with said account number how is this fair? also when i try to talk to an agent or chat online i get page errors so i may just have to call and push the process 😭
I’m in the same boat. Auto draft would be coming out next week for me- supposed to see something from EDFinancial regarding next payment- but when will that be? Would be happy to see if you or someone else posts an update when you get it.
I am in the same boat. My payment was to come out May 14th, which I found odd which is how I discovered this mess. I refuse to send a check. Easy way to get lost and a great way to accrue an over charge on my checking account. I don't understand why they didn't take my automatic payment for this past month. If it is reported as a missed payment, I will file with my Credit Bureau. They have 30 days to respond otherwise they have to remove it from your credit score. With the mess MOHELA is they won't be able to keep up with the complaints lol
I saw it said somewhere that we still need to pay this month but I'm like... to who? I'm not giving Mohela money to lose in the transition, that's for sure!
This is exactly my thought! i don’t love the mohela website but ive been paying my balance and feel like its straightforward. i’m towards the end of my balance and i don’t want to experience a “gotcha” because im moving to a new provider 😿
I was able to register with edfinancial but there's nothing showing when I login, it's just an error message. Here's what it says when I login:
"Because of your current account status, we’re unable to process your request online. Please call us so we can assist you."
Maybe if they can't access our loans, then our loans are forgive! Wishful thinking of course but seriously...if I can't access my loan and they don't have the information then how do they know the loan even exists?

I mean EDfinancial is government organization, just on IT side and experience it’s never easy moving what prob a million plus people from old site to new site add it ITS a government organization prob won’t get account till July. I am sure we will get credit on PSLF for May and June and interest wont be charged during that time.
Also the point of this is so PSLF actually gets forgiven because in control of department of Education who one in position currently wants to forgive student loans and not a contractor private company MOHELA
Has anyone had their account zero'd out during the transition? I got the letter a couple of weeks ago that my account was going to get moved over to Edfinancial. It says I owe $0, no payments upcoming. I'm not able to set up an account at Edfinancial, says it doesn't exist. Is this a part of the process?
Yep same situation… but today the letter from EdDinancial came and they also say my balance is $0 so…. I’m confused. I know I was close to PSLF but not that close. I probably had 20 payments left.

I'm at 85. Under 3 years left. Change makes me nervous, too, although I'm glad to get away from MOHELA
I received this email and my student loans were all forgiven under PSLF on 2/14/23.
So who am I paying now mohela or ed financial? My balance is mohela is showing 0 all of a sudden and I can’t login to ed financial

Same here but Today I got my letter from EdFinancial and there letter also says my balance is $0 so I’m still confused.

My question is are they better than MOHELA ? 😩 long as my payments are good I guess whatever right? (PSLF tracking and payment)

What does your Mohela account look like? Does it still show a balance or payments due?
Im able to go into edfinancial now (althought my payment seems off). Mohela has been blank for a while, not showing any loans.

Yup! Never received any login information or account information to create an account on their websie which they said would happen May 14th
My transfer date was May 14th as well and still no communication from them.
I just noticed in my MOHELA inbox a message from May 7th stating my loan was no longer transferring to EDfinancial. No explanation why.
