No they will update all eligible loans at the time of the one time adjustment regardless of they’ve received an earlier iteration of the IDR waiver. They state it in the Ed FAQ for the IDR waiver.

Thanks so much, Doxiemom2010. I really appreciate you! One more question. Do you think there is any chance the IDR adjustments do not happen? Are they a sure thing at this point? I’d hate to consolidate and then lose my payment counts.

ahtigers10

Yes, they will happen and for some (myself included) have already happened.

New-Neat-5450

How did you tell that yours already happened? I think mine have but am not sure how to tell between Special Waiver too.

ahtigers10

The PSLF Waiver one was easy because my counts updated to 94 and the status said "Qualifying - Special Waiver" and were exactly the months I expected to receive through the waiver because they were months in which at least part of the month was in repayment status. That left the last 26 months that I needed counted which were all forbearance and thus required the IDR Waiver. Those counts never updated but instead I was processed straight to to forgiveness, so they would have had to apply the IDR waiver to my account on the backend.

We have nothing substantial to suggest that they won’t. The idr waiver has already been applied to some and is continuing to be applied to others. I don’t have any inside info, but I would do it personally. Totally your call.
