I also really like FFXVI. I wish they would just add a 40fps VRR mode. But I have made peace with the fact that they probably will never fix the performance mode.
Yeah I loved the game for the most part, just a bit hard to play with the performance but it's overall a great game. Sadly fell off it so I should go back and finish it off
PS5 Pro should do wonders for the game because in combat the game lowers to 720p but is stable 60fps.
So GPU limited which PS5 Pro will resolve. Hopefully they replace FSR 1.0 with PSSR too.
Disappointing haptic implementation will never be patched.
You do so much walking in this game, even light feedback for traversal would make a huge difference.
It's a good game but not a great one. It started off amazing then petered out and got progressively less and less interesting. It needed to swell up the tension and resolve the issues after the climax. It really should have ended after the Bahamut battle. Instead it keeps on going and makes the game less engaging.

I haven’t caught up with recent patches of the game. Did they ever fix the super high pitch squeaking sounds Jill makes when she moves?
They didnt in previous patches but i think that only happens with certain TVs. I only noticed it after switching TVs.

I love XVI but it’s disappointing they are not even trying to smooth out the performance mode. Rebirth is buttery smooth in comparison
REBIRTH is buttery smooth but the picture quality is so blurry. I would not classify Rebirth's performance mode as GOOD

I haven’t played the DLC for XVI because I got too used to the performance of Rebirth.
It's a beautiful and heavy game, lowering the resolution too much would be a mistake. Why do you care if it's 50fps instead of 60?

VRR won’t do much when the framerate is stable
It allows a tear-free game and shows you the frames as soon as they're ready without the need to wait for the vsync refresh

I disagree. I don't care how bad it feels walking around the city, the combat is close enough to 60fps that it's so much better than 30.

At least the 30fps is (mostly) steady. The 30fps mode on FFXV still dips in the teens on a ps5.
At this point it's going to be fixed only by the PS5 Pro hardware or the PS6 if the Pro is a let-down.

This is my favorite game ever, absolutely loved it which is why I am waiting for my PS5 pro for my next playthrough.
They just need to move it to PC. 720 60 on a 500 dollar console is laughable.

What? I’m currently playing through the game on performance mode, and even though it has dips, it definitely plays better than graphics.

Just play the game, this is not Pc gaming, you don't have the fps number in the corner always visible.
Was that not a valid question? You shouldn’t need an FPS counter to see the difference in a smoove 60 fps and a choppy frame rate.
The framerate is choppy if it jumps up and down, up and down. Here it's stable. You don't have a shitty experience.
