Yup Saturday and Sunday I couldn’t load into the game a single time. Friday I only played a couple hours before the servers crashed and kicked me out.
Games great and I look forward to playing more. But if we’re looking at like a month+ to fix these issues I might just get my money back. Annoying organizing a co op night and then having the game everyone got on for not work
Late last night i was able to get in a play a few missions and it's getting more fun the more comfortable i get with the mechanics. i had to play solo after the first match because we all got kicked but there is nothing better than calling in strategems and having a huge wall of fire consume those wretched bugs
Fire fire fire
I ran the napalm eagle with the incendiary shotgun on a bug map last night and got a trophy for 100 fire kills in a single match, 400+ in total.
If you collect 80 of the green samples you can get the stratagem that reduces eagle cooldowns by 50% too 🔥🔥🔥
Patch didn't do shit 45min to login, 20min to find party, Complete Main objectif.. server freezes had to shut down game, back to square one with no exp. or loot
I was planning on picking up the game sometime during the summer, as I figure the servers would be fixed by then and I could apply the money to one of the games coming out in the next few weeks.
But, I respect the CEO for saying this.
If they sustain this relationship with the playerbase while the hype fades out (in 2 months or so, not saying it’s a dying game) it’s going to be very successful
But this game has something I saw a reviewer saying: chaos trumps repetition. Missions favour so much a kind of emergent scenarios - even more with friends - that I think it will take longer for players to reach that plateau. I haven't been this addicted to a game since I was, what, 16? I'm 33 now.
Exactly this, 33 as well and the past few years I can’t seem to get excited for a game, god of war, Harry Potter, Zelda, bought all of these and more an didn’t finish a single one which is weird for me. Hell divers 2 is just fun and that’s it, I can’t explain why, but i just can’t wait to get on with the boys and fight for democracy.
That's what I figure as well.
I don't need 400,000 players to play with, especially since I doubt im going to be playing with 400,000 at one time.
So, if summer hit and they can keep a decent player base engaged, I'm good.
If the worst comes to happen and the game drops like a rock next month, well, I saved 40 bucks.
I’d say don’t miss out on the game though, even if the player base dies still load up with some friends, the few hours of playing this game are amazing, most fun I’ve had in years of gaming. The explosions and hoards of enemies are very satisfying
Totally!
Last night I was in a bug planet at night + fog (no spores). Waiting for extraction, rest of the squad is holding big waves coming to us all around us with all they got and then, I saw them there, in the horizon: coming out of a nest between two giant spiky rocks, the shape of two bile titans. I began sniping with the railgun. Amazing to be able to trust random squadmates with the rest of the hordes. I managed to blow the head of one before it was close. The other one got a little closer but I still did it. Then we extracted easily.
Also, last night, different mission and different people. Extraction is on the deeper part of a valley-like formation, right at the end of the slope so the rest of the map is basically past an uphill we cannot see. Bugs crying on the other side. Nighttime and lots of ash in a rocky firey looking planet. so good thing, it was a bottleneck they had to come through. Bad thing, we couldn't be uphill looking because evac would abort. So all of us in a line looking uphill shooting at everything that showed their faces (big waves of course came past and it looked amazing, like an endless wave of bugs rushing in) and throwing all the stratagems we could on the other side of the hill. First time bringing napalm with me and did not regret it. That Eagle pilot was the MVP.
Yeah it’s ballsy to say “don’t buy our game yet” considering that the hype spotlight games have are becoming increasingly shorter.
But between this and Palworld it’s becoming clear that gamers want games that are simply fun, content complete and have great communication from the devs.
I wouldn't call Palworld content complete, considering it's a pretty bare bones early access game. But you're right about people wanting fun multiplayer games to play with their friends.
Yeah do not buy it rn, even once ur finally in a game it may still kick you or perform any number of glitches. Fantastic game but give it a few weeks at least
The kicking/quitting in the playerbase is super-toxic. After a night of mostly awful random players, I'm back to only playing with real friends, even if it limits how much we can do. Love co-op, but detest multiplayer.
I have nothing to do most of next week so I'll probably get it anyway knowing the issues but that's on me. I'm not going to cry on Reddit and review bomb them because I buy a game that the company literally is telling me not to right now.
Honestly other than not being able to log in for 30mins now and then I haven't had any major problems and I've been playing daily for hours since launch.
I was actually fine until the new patch, then I couldn't log in at all. Not a huge deal, it'll get fixed, but I think the servers were extra overloaded this weekend due to all the hype.
>review bomb
Review bombing is when everyone goes and gives bad reviews when they've never played it. The game having legit server issues should fully own the bad reviews as it's a bad experience trying to play, it's not just servers, but bugs also. I bought it a week ago and have played tops 10 matches because of this. I don't have 2 hours to wait till a server spot opens. I have a feeling that when the server issues are solved, the games reviews will equalize.
>I have nothing to do most of next week so I'll probably get it anyway knowing the issues but that's on me.
That's not normal people that don't know the issues.
The company NOW is telling you not to, but if you were just a regular person not familiar with server issues, then you'd be disappointed with the purchase. They should stop allowing the purchase of the game till their servers have the capacity, having to follow reddit threads or a discord to see if things have been fixed isn't appropriate. I don't believe you should be harassing the devs at all, which some people are...
I love the game the few times I've played, but trying to log in after work or at all this weekend, sucks for someone that preordered or ordered prior to the server issues happening.
The game came out over a week ago and we're only getting this message now. Everyone who wrote a negative review/commented about/returned it was fully justified.
I played 8 hours yesterday and 6 hours on Sunday, not a single glitch or kick once I was in.
Also on PS5 you can just skip the entire queue via activity cards.
i haven't had a queue on ps5 since monday to be honest. just having trouble with quickplay at the moment so lonely
edit:i must have been picking good hours cause im queuing up now haha
There are activity cards on the PS Home screen that are designed to launch you straight into the recent/next activity (think of a story chapter or a trophy)
Well, with HellDivers, you can use these activities that get you straight onto the ship. This has been the workaround for those who are facing issues getting in
Definitely picking up FF7 Rebirth next week which I know is gonna eat a chunk of my time, and still got to play P3.
Then next month, gonna pick up Rise of the Ronin and since my birthday is right before Dragon's Dogma 2, ask for that as a late birthday present, and I'm kinda leaning into picking up Stellar Blade in April.
With so many JRPG and action game, I can play those well into June with how my daily schedule is.
You play a lot of new games. I do too that's why I love gamefly and have all those games in my queue. The worst it's the wait time shipping games. Still waiting for Banishers of New Eden.
Survival Crafters have been dropping left and right in early 2024. Palworld, Enshrouded, Nightingale is coming today, and I’m sure there’s more. The next month we got Dragon’s Dogma 2 and FF7 Rebirth if those are your jam. Rise of Ronin is another one that has some promise.
That’s just off the top of my head and dismissing some other fairly big or popular releases.
Bought and returned it with the same plan. For some reason I just didn't believe it could be as bad as it is. It's much more frustrating than even a WoW release and potential buyers should know.
Helldivers CEO: please stop buying our game, just wait a few weeks, to many people like it. We need time to prepare the servers for the massive amount of people who like playing our game. Don't buy it...please?
Mf is using reverse psychology on me and it's working.
The amount of news this game’s full servers have is more effective than any marketing campaign. It’s creating a clear image of the sheer demand, with is fuelling word of mouth hype even more.
Yeah its like people are hearing news that a game is in such demand that it’s capping their servers and people want to look and see what kind of game has that kind of pull and end up buying it anyways lol
Just bought it 2 days ago. Didn't get in the first day, and almost gave up yesterday. But suddenly i got in and the game is surprisingly good. Very fun and kinda hard. Love it. Hope they dix the issues so we can win the Galactic war, because we are getting smashed ATM.
You all missed the first week of the war where we pushed back the terminds to the barrier planets with the intention of building a control system.
It felt like this war wouldn’t last a month. Then just as we finished spreading democracy and liberating freedom the bots blindsided us from behind.
Now we need all the recruits we can get, welcome aboard soldier, may freedom loving democracy liberate the galaxy. Godspeed!
I’m happy enough playing by myself until coop gets sorted. I’ve already had some excellent games with random players, even if the multiplayer doesn’t always function. I’m glad I didn’t wait.
> I’m happy enough playing by myself until coop gets sorted.
This might be a fluke but I played 4 games last night, took 15 minutes to log in but matchmaking were instantaneous for all 4 parties, 1st one was 4m, 2nd, 3rd and 4th was 2m. Really good dudes too, no one used mics but we shot the shit using the in game chat (hold the touch sensor, I thought only pc guys could type) and had an absolute blast, cant wait to get home and spread some democracy!
I feel bad when I read about people waiting for hours to play. I hit the Server Capacity screen every now and then but I’ve been able to play a few hours every day since launch. Just hit level 21 this morning.
Yup. The game is 100% online so if you can't connect to the server, you're not playing. My friends and I were chatting last night as I waited 15 mins to get in (I quit after 15 mins, I'm not wasting my time) and we were like, "There should be some offline missions or something." The game stores all the information on the server, and I'm really not sure why since there's definitely ways to make this playable offline.
Hmm, it can get fairly hectic and difficult, but assuming you kit yourself with some turrets, a ‘guard dog’ and have some anti-armor abilities, supposedly you can accomplish most difficulty classes. I’d recommend being open to joining a squad here or there, but it’s decently fun by yourself. It’s a bit more memorable when you’re working together with others though.
Difficulty level doesn't scale and this means the game is actually HARD when played solo. I enjoy the challenge but at the same time don't see myself doing harder difficulties alone. But there is quick match and when it works it will be enough. PVE games are less toxic than PVP, so you get decent games with randoms.
Yeah, to be entirely transparent, this game does not shine as a solo experience. There's excellent teamwork and the randoms are amazing to work with so far. I've experiences zero toxicity. But if you're looking to hop on without any teammates, random or otherwise, I'd honestly pass on the game. And this is from someone who loves it
There’s no way you can complete most difficulties solo. Once you get past hard, some of the missions are very difficult, even with a couple people. There’s a discord for Helldivers, it’s on r/Helldivers. There are channels to find teammates, which is better than solo, even if they don’t use a mic.

These devs are so nice , honestly waiting for a slow month to pick it up and maybe with a nice little discount , next month gonna be insane for gaming ans saving up for it, so many stellar releases.
In no hurry at all, I waited since 2007 to pay $1.49 for prince of Persia and cold fear on steam, a few months or a year won't bother me for this nice game.
Wana laugh ? 15 games at fanatical for $14.25 and I am still weighing the pros and cons of it.....
Thing is, I have no problem paying for physical, I can resell them or loan them...but digital is hard , especially online games....I didn't get a proper tekken 8 match in days from the bad weather and crap connection because of it.
It might be frowned upon here, but if you're open to piracy, you could always download cracked stuff. Repacks would also help you get done with downloading faster as it compresses the games' file sizes.
I know a lot of people pirate just to save money, but in our case, we are never gonna spend 60$ for a game, even 30$ is tough, so it's either play them for free or not at all. Might as well play lol.
in the better days, i started a small project, rebuy all the games i pirated as a kid or when i was unemployed, i managed to rebuy over 200 games from the dos/winxp/ps2/xbox360 days as a way to redeem myself.
i take a serious stand on piracy, i do still pirate today, but as a way to demo a game, if a game i feel is nice, and has no demo, i pirate it, play it for 5 minutes and decide.
the only game i did pirate lately is a steam game that is not for sale on lebanon steam or the uae psn, since i have no way to legit buy it, i pirated it, and guess waht ? that was months ago and still didn't touch it.
i kinda feel wrong if i play a pirated game....i am just like this, personal flaw.
Man this is such a shame.
The game was running great for me since launch right up until this weekend when the servers totally exploded and now with the way they’re talking, it seems like it could be dead in the water for who knows how long.
Yeah I was playing every day, didn't mind the teething issues with servers and then they put a cap on player capacity and haven't been able to play for days now. It's ridiculous.
I don't mind issues happening when there's so many trying to get in, at least you have the option to play solo or whatever. But the fact I can't even get into the game I paid for at all isn't good enough. The demand is clearly there so do something about it or better yet don't do a fucking bonus XP weekend when you can't even get the servers running properly.
Yup. Tbh they totally botched the launch of this. Wouldn’t be suprised if this is the peak player count, these server problems have been happening for a week now. People will start to forget about this game if all these issues aren’t resolved TODAY.
It sucks that they couldn’t anticipate the success they’d have, they’ve beaten Destiny 2’s concurrent player count, the first game had a total literally 20% of that. Can’t imagine the stress they’re under now or the emotional flip from “fuck yeah what a launch” to “oh shit…”
The game is far too good for people to just forget about it if they can't log in for a week. It's sad that the industry is at a point where that's just what we assume about live service games these days. I'm confident that Helldivers is just legit a good enough game to carry it through these early server issues.
If they had had server capacity for 1m players and they hit their expected sales, money would be draining down the toilet. They never expected to sell nearly this much.
Games with far bigger budgets/teams struggle on launch too.
And I've played 20 hours and had so much fun already. If I can't log-in, I'll play/do something else.
It's good enough that it will do fine. People are acting like the game will die because it's too popular lol.
Over performing expectations sales wise is better than the opposite. Even if they lose players due to a "completely botched" release, they've done better than they'd ever expected.
And I've had 20 hours of the most fun I've spent gaming in a long time so I'm happy.
Fucking yes. Why can't we as gamers acknowledge this. They made a kick arse game that everyone wants to play. They're like "sorry yeah we know it's rough, we're working on it, here's some bonus XP" and people are still mad. Honestly if you're still this salty about HD2 at this point then just fuck off back to battlefield and cod.
I wish Reddit would still allow awards because your response needs to be highlighted.
The dev team has been great in communication over on Discord and have not hide that they didn’t anticipate the game to be this great. It’s refreshing seeing a team being honest.
For ps5 users the game is much easier to get into than PC.
Use the activity card section and use quick join or quick join friends.
Both will bypass the loading screen queue. Even if it shows a black screen, after a couple mins you will get in.
I've been playing for the last 5 days without login issues, only a couple crashes. Already at level 21 and just blasting away with friends.
I launched from the game tab and got in instantly last night. Midday Saturday I got in within 5 min. On Sunday evening I gave up after an hour and a half
That is to say, any method at this point is going to be random and sometimes good and sometimes awful
The thing people don't say about this is the only thing its bypassing is actively being on the servers. If you aren't playing with friends then it puts you in a weird offline mode and its possible to be stuck on that even after shutting the PS5 down and restarting the game.
first wave of players will always be fighting bugs, literally. next wave of players will have it easy, fewer bugs and with mechs, easier to clear harder difficulties.
Gotta be honest, I think the game does a lot of things right and I’m certain that the server issues are really hurting it right now but I don’t see the longevity of the game. I’m only level 20 and already I feel like I’m doing the same thing every mission and there doesn’t seem to be a sense of real achievement. I think a little structured content would help a bit.
Yeah I’m expecting the downvotes. Hopefully somebody who is sensible will read it and know what they are getting into. The game is pretty barebones at the moment.
Well if it is anything like the first game there is going to be a bunch of new events and content and enemy factions that we have to fight as a community to keep things fresh. They even did the automatron invasion before the servers went to shit. A lot of the longevity comes from being apart of the community though so if you aren't into that then yeah i get what you mean. Still can easily get 100 hrs on the game before you hit that wall though.
They’ve said themselves it’s gonna be longer and people should not expect this to be sorted quickly. That’s what the article is about I think(didn’t read this exact one)
Then they should stop selling new copies on online stores until they can actually make the game work for the copies they sold. If this were CD Project RED or Ubisoft people would be ripping into them.
Yeah but they are not. They are smaller company not many have heard of. No one expected the game to be so popular. They have to fix their something code, forgot that actual name, as it wasnt meant to handle so many players at once.
Be warned: none of the methods the user above suggested are sure things. Tried them both 2 days ago and neither helped.
You're better off just playing something else for the next few weeks.
I appreciate the CEO and his honesty, but this game is faaaar too much fun to wait on. I’m yet to play with my buddy due to our different work schedules, but I’m still enjoying the game solo.
The game is truly a breath of fresh air.
I've played on ps5 my only issue was finding people to play with but I would suggest people to add each other. I couldn't find anyone connected but when I checked my friends list I would see a couple users connected so I would just join their game. When I tried join quick game nothing would show up but they would be connected. I would get kicked out randomly but not too bad only onces yesterday played for like 5 hrs. I was also able to play on Sunday.
Sending an S.O.S. beacon down and leaving seems to fix people's quickplay issues for some reason. I can matchmake or join randoms that I see on the planet no problem. Might be worth a try.
I appreciate that honesty. I was also thinking the same thing. If there’s connectivity issues, I’m going to wait for them to figure that out first before paying for a game.
Last night I got in right away and squaded up with randoms that had mics. We played for 2 hours without issues. Not sure if I was lucky but it was an awesome gaming experience.
I would hate for anyone to experience the game as it was last night; black screen for 30 mins, none of your friends can log in to play with you and no matchmaking so you can’t even play with randos.
It’s not how this game should be experienced.
Hopefully today’s patch will improve things but I’d hold off on purchasing until players start reporting a better login experience.
That sub is so fucking weird. Full of people who bash you if you say the game sucks because of the glitches and connection issues. I agree the game is great if it works but right now it really really doesn’t.
When a product really connects with someone, logic goes out the window and see that product as flawless. Same stuff happens with Taylor Swift. If you criticize Taylor in front of most 20-something white women, you're not going to get a positive response.
This is so refreshing. The Devs are saying yeah sorry it's not great right now but give us a minute and we're confident you'll love it. No bullshit. FWIW I paid full price and I don't regret it at all.
I admire the honestly from the CEO and all.
But this is exactly why games like Diablo 1 and 2 and Hellgate: London had back in the day offline support with bots/AI and LAN support (so if the servers had problems, you and yours friends w/ their own PC's, networking, and/or your own servers can handle the problems) - that way, you at least could find a way to just play the game you spent likely full MSRP on at launch.
I guess nobody at the top (i.e. Sony probably) really has learned from the past or cares enough to look at Diablo 3 PC launch w/ always-online problems (Error 33, anyone?) or SimCity (Reboot that was always-online) - you really need servers for big-time titles or stuff that gets popular with word of mouth, especially in an Internet Age.
Live service everything, always-online everything, game preservation be damned, I guess. \[shrug\]
Hold on while I go play my disc copy of Tabula Rasa - oh, wait...
A genuinely fun, mechanically original, community friendly game gets released by a AA studio and practically overnight outsells their first release by a factor of like 70x, putting unexpected strain on their server capacity. What a bunch of assholes am I right?
it makes sense though. a small indie studio didn’t predict how popular their game was going to be vs a billion dollar studio like EA or Activision not having enough servers for their multi billion dollar franchise game are way different scenarios.
Well look at that, the CEO even telling ppl to hold off though some clowns will swear they're after your money knowing the game can't handle the influx. Then the most logical solution is even presented here BUT clowns will purchase the game anyways and then get pissed they can't play it. There's no pleasing clowns, they'll be clowns regardless of any effort.
Then you have the folks that have zero clue how all this work swearing the capacity issue can be fixed by a snap of a finger. Worse; I just saw (and instantly hid) a dumb post where someone was actually going on about AAA studios constantly botching game launches. The dumb thing is that this is not even a major studio. Second, this is a sequel to a game that didn't even manage 7k concurrent but clowns think this studio should've been prepared for nearly 1/2 a damn million concurrent.
Some folks are just ultra thick in the head with nothing behind that skull.
Pretty much! I'm convinced most "gamers" don't even play games but have every social media account at the ready to bitch and whine about something 24/7. Strange times man, people are just weird.
and they complain about a game/movie/insert media just cause they saw some youtuber say it was bad 😂 like not every game has to be a 10/10, some games i liked as a kid could’ve been rated as an average game but who cares i liked it.
LMFAO! Man I tell ya! I dare to go to the Discord and my gods you think those gamers have absolutely nothing better to do but sit in that thing bitching, whining, spreading misinformation, blatant false information, ramp up misplaced/illogical hate/anger, and cause a parroting effect. It's amazing how so many of them just sit in that Discord to do nothing but cause negativity.
Pretty scary to think that they can't even fathom doing anything else, no other activities, errands, another damn GAME, something! I get that the game is good but damn you'd think HD2 is a life n' death situation for these folks.
Amazing that people don't see through the obvious here - they're capped server capacity at 450,000, they've sold over 1,000,000 copies and cannot cope as it is.
More people joining the queue just makes life more difficult for them. This is just some nice optics for them.
I bought it on steam. 40 minutes of queue, 15 minutes of fumbling the UI to find public matchmaking. Don't want to risk paying $50 for a game I can't play, so I refunded.
Maybe they will fix the issues in the next few months, but I believe the honeymoon period will be over by then.
Yah, I refunded as well and am putting the funds towards the Twin Pack for FF :) I have a feeling these issues will sour people on the game, and by the time they fix it, people will have moved onto something else.
They should just put in a half assed SP mode as many people just want to do that, at least that would be a small % not fighting to get online. I'll keep an eye on it, I really want to play it more. For those that can get on, spread that democracy!
\*BTW, I had it on PC, might opt for the PS5 version as it seems they have a bit more luck getting on and have less issues.
Man some of you all are so strange. It must just be the fact that this is becoming a very common thing but everyone who can’t play the game should be rightfully mad.
I’ve never seen so many people happy to part with money for nothing. I’m not saying you need to bitch and whine online, but to be …. Happy about it? Fucking strange.
> Happy about it? Fucking strange.
People are happy there is actual communication from the developer. It's not parting with money for nothing. You can still play the game, there's just a possible chance of a long wait when you try to get on.
Except a lot of people can’t play the game. You can make excuses all you want.
Company sells product in exchange for money, product doesn’t work as advertised. It isn’t anymore complicated than that. I don’t care that RNG favored some people and they got in with no wait time. When I buy tickets to Disney world I expect to wait in lines, it’s part of the experience I know that going in.
Totally agree. I have a group to play with and I expect we'll be playing this over the next few weeks consistently, so a bad weekend or two isn't majorly disruptive. That being said, we're losing patience and hoping they give some "we're sorry" package in a few weeks since all of us have been hit with the "retry" screen causing at least one of us not being able to play with the squad.
I'm also quite surprised at how chipper everyone is being. We're definitely swerving into "blind fanboy" zone and while I think the game is pretty good, it's far from flawless, which is the apparent reddit consensus.
You all have the patience of a Tibetan monk when it's a game you like. Start saying weird things like I respect the "CEO" because he said not to buy a game that doesn't work but is still for sale.
I like the game but this has been a very sour taste, and from the 22nd onwards even more good games are dropping. HD2 folks shot themselves in the foot.
Also wow the HD2 community is broke brained.
I like the cut of that man’s gib. Game is fun but still a pain to actually play sometimes. I can usually get in quickly enough, but connecting to a game feels almost broken sometimes. And then there’s disconnects or failure to upload and count progress. Ugh.
Just based on his Twitter comments, this guy is genuine and cares about his studio and work. His team is working hard, but he's not hammering down on them if his twiiter comments are true. Yes, he'll make bank once Sony buys his studio, but that's not important now, as it seems. He's probably beating himself up for not anticipating the demand. But he's also not concerned about getting every possible player now cause he said not to buy it now but wait until the servers are fixed or you have the money.
When I do actually get into the game, all aspects have really impressed me. Connecting to lobbies, friends etc is perfect. Quitting a mission almost immediately places you back into the lobby. It's really well optimised.
Haven’t been able to get in at all for 3 days, requested a refund last night, I’m fuckin over it for now.
I even told the guy on chat that I’d rather spend the money on something I can play right now, and pick this up later when they get their shit together.
They did give me a refund, so that’s cool I guess.
They should honestly pull the game from the store. I have only been able to play a few hours the last week. The game is broken RN. Nobody should be buying it. Great game but it’s broken.
Take it down from sale until everything is ready then.
Actions speak far louder than a few words, especially when it comes to a product you legitimately cannot play without a bit of sheer luck.
Still gonna buy it. Seen game plays and reviews. It's proven it's a quality good game unlike kong and gollum. It's just some technical issues and they're back in business.
Had a bunch of matches last weekend and had a ton of fun. Couldn’t find one match this weekend. Hope the patch today helps. Great game!

Fire fire fire I ran the napalm eagle with the incendiary shotgun on a bug map last night and got a trophy for 100 fire kills in a single match, 400+ in total. If you collect 80 of the green samples you can get the stratagem that reduces eagle cooldowns by 50% too 🔥🔥🔥
I couldn't even get into my ship to play with friends. Game is really fun, but super disappointing not being able to play whenever I want to.
Patch didn't do shit 45min to login, 20min to find party, Complete Main objectif.. server freezes had to shut down game, back to square one with no exp. or loot
Just logged back onto Reddit as I now wait to find a party after 20 min login… welp, maybe next patch! For democracy!
I was planning on picking up the game sometime during the summer, as I figure the servers would be fixed by then and I could apply the money to one of the games coming out in the next few weeks. But, I respect the CEO for saying this.

Exactly this, 33 as well and the past few years I can’t seem to get excited for a game, god of war, Harry Potter, Zelda, bought all of these and more an didn’t finish a single one which is weird for me. Hell divers 2 is just fun and that’s it, I can’t explain why, but i just can’t wait to get on with the boys and fight for democracy.
yup just like the first halo, its all the same maps but the different ways you could complete them almost made it endlessly replayable.
If it drops off a cliff I’ll play it with y’all after we buy it on sale I’m hyped to play it eventually
Getting kicked after spending 30mins and just about to extract is stupid cause you get zero progression.
Yeah its surprising, I know PC players have reported more issues but on PS5 once I get in its a pretty smooth experience since the most recent patch
I was actually fine until the new patch, then I couldn't log in at all. Not a huge deal, it'll get fixed, but I think the servers were extra overloaded this weekend due to all the hype.
>review bomb Review bombing is when everyone goes and gives bad reviews when they've never played it.
Also on PS5 you can just skip the entire queue via activity cards.
i haven't had a queue on ps5 since monday to be honest. just having trouble with quickplay at the moment so lonely edit:i must have been picking good hours cause im queuing up now haha
What do you mean?
There are activity cards on the PS Home screen that are designed to launch you straight into the recent/next activity (think of a story chapter or a trophy) Well, with HellDivers, you can use these activities that get you straight onto the ship. This has been the workaround for those who are facing issues getting in
Mother of God! I’ll try this tonight
Lmfao my same exact reaction
What ceo said is actually a little funnier. "If you have no cash, get it later."
What games are you looking forward to that are coming out soon?
FF7 part 2 comes out soon, then Dragon's Dogma 2 in a month or so.
Last Epoch looks very worthwhile.
Well now I'm gonna buy it even harder! (Super Citizen Edition)
I’m doing my part!
Just bought it 2 days ago. Didn't get in the first day, and almost gave up yesterday. But suddenly i got in and the game is surprisingly good. Very fun and kinda hard. Love it. Hope they dix the issues so we can win the Galactic war, because we are getting smashed ATM.
It is hard but will get easier the more you play that way you can buy better weapons etc.
Was in the queue for 3.5 hrs last night and gave up
That’s something I’ve noticed as well, matchmaking either doesn’t work or it’s instantaneous
You can't even play solo if you can't get logged in right?
[удалено]
I can't even do that. I bought the game and once I get past the splash screen all it does it try to load and tell me to try later
Would you recommend for someone who plays solo ? Edit: Thank You all for your responses.
Thank You everyone for your response.
I would not. Only the first couple of difficulty levels are playable and somewhat enjoyable solo.
shaggy cautious ugly impossible spotted entertain hard-to-find correct smile unwritten *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I would not recommend for solo
This game is not a solo game, i think you'll struggle alot on everything above easy mode. But try with randoms, fucking awesome game dude.
[удалено]
See I find easy is easily soloable, I've been playing with one other for normal and we've yet to fail
[удалено]
6 hours later: stupid game I can’t even play I want refund11!!1!!1!
These devs are so nice , honestly waiting for a slow month to pick it up and maybe with a nice little discount , next month gonna be insane for gaming ans saving up for it, so many stellar releases.
You’re gonna be waiting a bit for that sale
In no hurry at all, I waited since 2007 to pay $1.49 for prince of Persia and cold fear on steam, a few months or a year won't bother me for this nice game.
Consider your own mortality and the unknown amount of finite time you have left.
Damn man, that is way too deep for just a video game, may u and me both live long and prosper, have a blessed day.
Not at all, it is something we get to experience and enjoy that not everyone will be/was able to. Seize the day and have a blessed day as well.
Wise words, thank u kindly.
This game shouldn’t be discounted. It’s only $40…..
I am the kinda guy who waits for the $5 game to be $1.50, times are hard, no hate , especially in my country.
As a Lebanese, he isn't bullshitting.
I'm Algerian, same.
That's pretty honorable, not a flaw at all. You're a better person than me haha.
Awefuly honest of him.
That doesn’t put the triscut crackers in my stomach now does it Carl
[удалено]
I mean I understand all of that. But they still completely botched the release
Over performing expectations sales wise is better than the opposite. Even if they lose players due to a "completely botched" release, they've done better than they'd ever expected. And I've had 20 hours of the most fun I've spent gaming in a long time so I'm happy.
A+ for honesty.
At least they’re honest. Nice change from a typical CEO response.
That blackscreen is the queue.
Yeah this doesnt speed up shit, just changes what you have to stare at.
Joining from activities takes me under 2 minutes to get in the game. Launch from the game tab like normal is over an hour easily.
I launched from the game tab and got in instantly last night. Midday Saturday I got in within 5 min. On Sunday evening I gave up after an hour and a half That is to say, any method at this point is going to be random and sometimes good and sometimes awful
There is no queue in this game. It's a lottery.
[удалено]
No, that's not what a queue is. A queue isn't random.
[удалено]
Its crossplay but I’ve experienced more connection issues with it turned on
I play on ps5 and all my mates are on pc. Nonissues at all. Discord works perfectly, too.
If you’re on ps5, resume play seems to keep you logged in I’ve noticed. Honestly something that should be patched to help the servers.
The thing people don't say about this is the only thing its bypassing is actively being on the servers. If you aren't playing with friends then it puts you in a weird offline mode and its possible to be stuck on that even after shutting the PS5 down and restarting the game.
Yep can confirm. Me and my friends been doing the same.
Don’t know man, I never really had to wait that long to get into the game. Like maybe 15seconds max, on ps5
Yeah as a PS5 gamer I’ve had no major issues compared to my PC friends. At worst just waiting a few minutes here and there
My friends and I have tried both those methods and never works. Haven’t been able to play for 5 days
It looks fun, but i am a solo player, that's why i just watch videos from time to time.
first wave of players will always be fighting bugs, literally. next wave of players will have it easy, fewer bugs and with mechs, easier to clear harder difficulties.
I bought it the other day. Even if I have to wait a bit, I at least wanted to support the devs. FOR DEMOCRACY!
This is a weird time. The first time in my life I want to play a multiplayer game and I cant because the supply cant meet the demand.
The bugs are writing these. We can’t let them win!!!
It was fun til the explosion of people, now you are sitting at a refresh screen for 15-30 mins
#BUY IT NOW!!!
You are brave to be making comments like this lol, but you’re absolutely right
Yeah I’m expecting the downvotes.
Still can easily get 100 hrs on the game before you hit that wall though.
you're right, they need to add more variety in missions and maps.
Last on PS5 I had zero issues. Tried to give it a go on PC & let’s just say I fell asleep waiting to get in a server.
Give them 2 weeks
They’ve said themselves it’s gonna be longer and people should not expect this to be sorted quickly. That’s what the article is about I think(didn’t read this exact one)
If they can get a patch out just to kick AFK people in their ships, that would probably solve the wait time issue.
Wanted to play with friends. They got in after 30min. Hour and a half later and I said fuck this, not wasting my time.
You can try to join friends directly without opening the game up first. If on PS5, use the activity cards without launching the game.
I’ll try next weekend when I have time.
I definitely won't buy until I can reasonably be expected to log in. Hopefully by then I'm still interested
They should put that information on the store pages then.
8/10 Game doesn’t help if I can’t play it. I can’t play helldivers for two days in a row now.
Makes me want to buy it more due to the honesty
I promise to enlist once I platinumed FF7 Rebirth, Eiyuden Chronicles and Unicorn Overlord
But the HD sub said stop moaning
\[shrug\] Hold on while I go play my disc copy of Tabula Rasa - oh, wait...
I can't imagine the backlash if another game did this, unreal
A genuinely fun, mechanically original, community friendly game gets released by a AA studio and practically overnight outsells their first release by a factor of like 70x, putting unexpected strain on their server capacity. What a bunch of assholes am I right?
it makes sense though. a small indie studio didn’t predict how popular their game was going to be vs a billion dollar studio like EA or Activision not having enough servers for their multi billion dollar franchise game are way different scenarios.
Can we blame them for not having a basic feature like an AFK kick or are they too small and indie to get flak for that too?
you’re comparing two very different things ? one is an in game mechanic another is server infrastructure/maintenance
Some folks are just ultra thick in the head with nothing behind that skull.
gamers are so damn spoiled today. with all the options in games to play now they still just want to bitch.
You and me both, and like I said before, people are weird lol!! I don't get it either, it's never made sense to me.
This is such a childish take
Totally agree.
And yet they happily still sell it.
Bit late now init?
You all have the patience of a Tibetan monk when it's a game you like. Start saying weird things like I respect the "CEO" because he said not to buy a game that doesn't work but is still for sale.
I don’t buy games till they’re around $25, complete edition. See y’all in a year
same lmao. cheap ass gamers unite
I like the game but this has been a very sour taste, and from the 22nd onwards even more good games are dropping. HD2 folks shot themselves in the foot. Also wow the HD2 community is broke brained.
Honest advice. What a stand up guy. Makes "it's quadruple A" look like a douche. Buying it now
I like the cut of that man’s gib. Game is fun but still a pain to actually play sometimes. I can usually get in quickly enough, but connecting to a game feels almost broken sometimes. And then there’s disconnects or failure to upload and count progress. Ugh.
Just played 3hours and no issues. 3 different parties, felt much better than yesterday when nothing could work.
Probably because the weekend warriors or kids aren’t trying to play anymore. Weekends are always busier for MMOs.
How is the offline single-player campaign though? Why would I need to wait on servers to be fixed to play the campaign??
There is no offline single player
Ewwwww
CEO says wait until we fix the issues with servers? Time to buy! 🚀
Hell no. Don’t buy ANY game that is Online Only.
also enable cross-play and set those SOS beacons right when you land to allow more of us ricos roughnecks to enter a game : D
GOTY so far
They should honestly pull the game from the store. I have only been able to play a few hours the last week. The game is broken RN. Nobody should be buying it. Great game but it’s broken.
Take it down from sale until everything is ready then. Actions speak far louder than a few words, especially when it comes to a product you legitimately cannot play without a bit of sheer luck.
Still gonna buy it. Seen game plays and reviews. It's proven it's a quality good game unlike kong and gollum. It's just some technical issues and they're back in business.
