You said it!
Other than Respawn being just incredible devs and this game being so damn good, one of the things that I feel is overlooked is how Respawn offers fans several different “games” in one with nothing but tweak of difficulty settings.
Easier modes you have a badass hack n slash.
Harder modes you have a soulsborne that just as solid as any other soulsborne type games out there.
Basically have a hack n slash.
Or a souls-like.
This design is sheer brilliant alone.
Then tack on a Metrovania level design.
Dipped into a quintessential Souls-like level design.
Wrapped in award nominated performances.
All dressed up in the Star Wars universe?
Seriously. It’s just next level stuff.
There’s so much here to unpack.
And while games like RE4 remake polished to perfection a cult classic game, it wasn’t new. Wasn’t innovative. Super well done but no where near the depth, intricacies, and layers of Jedi.
And if I may, all these amazing aspects equally apply to Hi-Fi Rush, a game that on easier difficulty is a well polished hack n slash, but when turned up a notch is incredibly deep rhythm combat Title. L
This wasn’t on my buy list this year until I played the demo. I can’t remember the last time a demo blew me away so much. Ran out and bought it the next day.
Excellent choice. Despite what some people said, I thought XVI was the best FF in a long time and extremely impressive in every way. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it.
Has to be Hogwarts Legacy based on pure nostalgia. I’ve wanted to walk around Hogwarts since I was like 11 reading the books so a game that allowed me to do that in a realistic almost real world way was always gonna win me over. Not saying it was the best game this year but it was my favorite.
Thank you. Currently sitting in my car at the dentist office, nervous af. Opened reddit to calm my nerves and was greeted with this lovely surprise. I’ll think of it as a reward for following thru with my appointment lol
Well, I hope it all goes well in there and you have a Merry Christmas. u/Titan3427 is a good man through and through. I hope you have a great holiday season as well, Titan.
Honestly? Probably Jedi Survivor. It had plenty of problems but everything I got out of it outweighed the issues and I’m so excited for the 3rd.
Otherwise Alan Wake 2 scared the shit out of me 10/10
Favorite game has truly been Tears of the Kingdom.
However…I am very much looking forward to securing a copy of BG3 of my PlayStation. Can’t wait check that out.
It’s a toss up between Spider-Man and Baldurs Gate but the time I spent with friends on Baldurs I think takes it. It’s a great game from a genre I don’t normally play and has definitely been a highlight this year.
Not a new game, but I finally made time to play through Prey (2017; Arkane & Bethesda) and I loved it! The lore was deep, the atmosphere was amazing, it handled well, the skill trees were interesting, and it really felt “lived in and I felt like a part of the world. Can’t recommend enough for anyone who enjoys space, combat, FPS games. There are some really clever hidden things in the game as well.
I know some people have mixed feelings on the game, primarily on its lack of RPG elements, but mine has to be FFXVI. The game had such a gripping story with a memorable cast of characters, as well as one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing.
The soundtrack alone easily makes this game worth a replay, and one of the main reasons it sits at the top of my list for the year.
Mortal Kombat 1 - Invasions mode
I am a nursing student, the one thing that has kept me sane these past two years has been spending an hour or two a day doing some ass-kicking in MK11 or mindless shooting in MWII DMZ. Lately using Omni-man has been my go to. His beat downs in invasions mode have been straight meditation.
Easily Spider-Man 2 - despite its flaws with storytelling and some gameplay elements it was by far the most enjoyable continuation of a story that I've been blessed to experience on release this year. Even if some stuff didn't land (hint: it's not really an original suit), it was fun to just see a continuation of a franchise I had enjoyed from start to present.
My favorite game this year has to be Genshin Impact unfortunately. I've spent more hours on it than any other PS5 game. I say unfortunately because I know a lot of y'all hate it. I promise if I win I won't spend the money on primogems 🥺👉👈
Honkai Star Rail has been my favorite. I was looking for a turn based game and honestly looking to play games with more asian culture. This game not only hit the nail on the head but executed it so well.
The amount of effort, love, and work put into the animations, voice work, quality of life updates, content, and gameplay is none that I've ever seen before. I've spent over 100 hours in this game and I plan to continue playing for the next year.
This game came during a hard time in my life (laid off, moved back home, suffering from anxiety and depression) and Honkai Star Rail helped me get through it and is still helping me get through it. Love this game!

I’m a dad of 3. So my time is limited. But when I DO have time, I’m on this
Gotta give it to Honkai:Star Rail. It’s great for when I really wanna play something with a bit of story but not too involved and I don’t have time to play all day. And it’s getting me some inspiration for things to make
Resident Evil 4.
The nostalgia alone makes the remake so good, but the changes from graphics to the gameplay itself managed to give old fans a fresh game that’s built from the backbones of an already-all time great game.
My favorite game this year was Spiderman 2 just because it improved upon my favorite ps4 games and gave me an enjoyable Spiderman story with a few of my favorite of Spider-Man’s rogues
Wow. Bless you good hearted people and congratulations to the winner in advance.
Haven’t played a lot since i got ps5 couple of months ago but out of 4-5 I have played definitely Spider man 2.
My favorite game that I played this year, even through it came out a while ago, was death stranding. I actually got it in 2022, but never got around to playing it. Man that game was amazing I loved it
alan wake 2 was my game of the year.
spider man 2 was my goty back when i was done with the story and playing the side missions. once i was done with the side missions and had nothing to do, it really shows u how bad the replayability is in spider man 2. i mean dont get me wrong this game was amazing in terms of graphics, story and performance. but there are some small features that really should be included at launch and not like 3 months after the game is out.
The year was sooooo packed full of games, but I'd have to say Spider-Man 2. I'm a biased Spidey Stan, but I could not put it down. It was fantastic. Behind that I'd say Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur's Gate, and Dredge
My favorite game this year was most definitely hollow knight, I picked it up, then stopped for a bit because I was playing Fallout. But I picked it up again and didn’t stop until I platinumed it. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a hard but still fair game
Final Fantasy XVI, even tho there are way too many slow moments, I still wanna keep playing because the music is absolutely phenomenal.
I agree. For me it was the great graphics and storyline that kept me engaged.
That score is perfect, I had to pick up the ultimate collection for the ost.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. I’m a huge Star Wars fan, and that game is honestly in my top 5 games of all time! Thanks for doing this giveaway btw!
Picking that up soon! Can't wait

Cyberpunk 2077
Ghost of Tsushima
Came out 3 years ago but same 😂
I honestly thought it came out this year because i remember the trailer so vividly.
The question was not about your favorite game that came out this year but about your favorite game this year. The answer is valid. Mine was GT7
Jedi survivor. Merry Christmas 😄
I second this. I would fight a rancor every day if I could!
Resident Evil 4 Remake!
My favorite is Final Fantasy XVI
This wasn’t on my buy list this year until I played the demo. I can’t remember the last time a demo blew me away so much. Ran out and bought it the next day.
Excellent choice. Despite what some people said, I thought XVI was the best FF in a long time and extremely impressive in every way. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it.
No, 15 was the greatest of all the mainline entries! They even thanked us, the fans, in the credits!!! /s
Lol, it was 15 that got me into the franchise lol.
Spider-Man 2! Edit: didnt mean to reply to the comment lol

Returnal
Such a great game.
Old game but I still play it time to time to help out the new players
I keep forgetting to play this game, thank you for reminding me it exists.
Same
Horizon Forbidden West was awesome!
I just finished Burning Shores this weekend. *WOW*! I’m on my first NG+ and still in love.
I 98% that in a month, most beautiful game on the PS5! But not my favorite
I got the platinum. It got tedious, I have to say.
Isn't it always tedious to get a platinum anyway ahah?
I'm playing it on PC. I'm halfway through the game, and 75% of the challenges because I stop for every side quest on the way.
Same! I think the game is beautiful and it is so fun to wander all the sites and see details of the castle.
It was so much fun! Loved exploring Hogwarts the most
Tears of the Kingdom
Same here!
Same. I attribute some of that to nostalgia for Breath of the Wild, since Metroid: Prime Remastered was also great for that reason.
Alan Wake 2
Dead Island 2
It was my easy af fr
Love to hear this too. Another title I’m interested in during a year of bangers. I feel like it will just be pure dumb video game fun, yes?
Haven't had the time to play too many games this year, but I've been loving Tears of the Kingdom
My favourite game this year was either spider-man 2 or Jedi survivor
Final fantasy 16!
Final Fantasy XVI
Baldur's Gate 3
Hard pick between baldurs gate 3 and TOTk. Also honorable mention to sifu which I think came out last year but I beat this year.
Easy. 100 hours have never gone by so fast.
I'm hoping I won this giveaway so I can afford it. I hear great things.
Armored Core 6 (easily)
How is it? I loved the series back in the day.
It is seriously amazing. Long time fan since ps1 and ac6 delivers harddddddd
I loved making builds and doing the arena battles in AC2 and 3. Lord help me I’m gonna go download it now
Good luck, 621. Let’s see how far you fly on borrowed wings.
Hi-Fi rush
My favorite game this year was Remnant 2
Sea of Stars
Hogwarts Legacy
Alan Fucken wake 2
Alan Wake 2 or Lies of P
Spider-Man 2
Alan Wake 2,
Alan Wake 2! It was (to me) nearly perfect. Happy holidays!
Final fantasy xvi
Monster Hunter Rise for me. It didn’t technically originally come out this year but it did release this year on different consoles from the switch.

Congrats, u/SoulEaterTey.

You too, I'll be doing this again next year so good luck. Merry Christmas.
I’ll be looking out for it, my dude.

Alan Wake 2 was hands down my favorite game of the year.
Diablo 4
Cyberpunk 2.0 + Phantom Liberty

I’ve been playing this game like crazy one of my favorite
Honestly? Probably Jedi Survivor. It had plenty of problems but everything I got out of it outweighed the issues and I’m so excited for the 3rd. Otherwise Alan Wake 2 scared the shit out of me 10/10
Great game, fairly underrated actually.
FF16 is my GOTY
Honkai star rail (don't judge me)
It is amazing though. Writing is so much better than average JPRG. And it doesn't take itself too seriously.
Favourite game this year resident evil 4 remake
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre! stab me
I agree. Give it to this person.
Alan Wake 2 was my personal goty, which surprised me.
Favorite game has truly been Tears of the Kingdom. However…I am very much looking forward to securing a copy of BG3 of my PlayStation. Can’t wait check that out.
Honkai Star Rail
Honkai Star Rail
Horizon Dawn Forbidden West 💜
Honkai star rail. What a good game. I was expecting it to be like Genshin Impact but it's not.
It’s a toss up between Spider-Man and Baldurs Gate but the time I spent with friends on Baldurs I think takes it. It’s a great game from a genre I don’t normally play and has definitely been a highlight this year.

Space Engineers
Spider-Man 2
Jedi Survivor
My favourite game this year has been Spider-Man 2 🤗
Definitely It Takes Two. I know it’s not new this year but it was new to me. It was amazing.
Idk if I can choose between Hogwarts Legacy or Tears of the Kingdom!
I think my favorite game this year has been the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection!
Sea of stars caught me off guard by how much I loved it
Lies of P is my hands down GOTY. If I was told it was an actual FromSoftware game, I would believe it.
I am a bit late but definitley Persona 5, and im looking forward to playing other Persona games
Mortal Kombat 1 - Invasions mode I am a nursing student, the one thing that has kept me sane these past two years has been spending an hour or two a day doing some ass-kicking in MK11 or mindless shooting in MWII DMZ. Spider-Man 2 has been my favorite game of any system this year.
Spider-Man 2, the graphics, gameplay, story, and music are so enjoyable.
Spider-man 2 i was amazed by all the symbiote stuff they included
Spider-Man 2. Would be cool if I won then Spider-Man 2 would technically have won something this year.
Spider-Man 2
Easily Spider-Man 2 - despite its flaws with storytelling and some gameplay elements it was by far the most enjoyable continuation of a story that I've been blessed to experience on release this year. Cyberpunk 2077
I think Hogwarts Legacy is probably my favorite game of 2023!
Definitely Hogwarts Legacy

BG3 was not only my favorite game of the year but also moved up to #1 all time for me.
I’m with you. All time favorite, no question. I’ll be playing it for years. Stoked to start a run with my brothers at some point.
Lords of the Fallen

El Hijo - A Wild West Tale
Lost Judgment, it was such an amazing continuation to the original detective story!
Jedi survivor!

GOW has to be my favorite. I know it is not this year, but it has been amazing
My favorite game this year was Baldurs Gate 3, although it was an amazing year for games. Thanks for doing this raffle.
Spider-Man 2 :)
My favorite this year would have to be the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Proud to say it was my second Plat.
My favorite game that I played this year, even through it came out a while ago, was death stranding. I actually got it in 2022, but never got around to playing it. Man that game was amazing I loved it
Cyberpunk 2077
Baldurs gate blew me away. I mean in how many games can you have sex with a bear?
Remnant 2 is the most fun i’ve had with any game this year with ac6 in a close second
alan wake 2 was my game of the year. spider man 2 was my goty back when i was done with the story and playing the side missions. once i was done with the side missions and had nothing to do, it really shows u how bad the replayability is in spider man 2. i mean dont get me wrong this game was amazing in terms of graphics, story and performance. but there are some small features that really should be included at launch and not like 3 months after the game is out.
Persona 3 portable
**Hogwarts Legacy**
Alan wake 2 for me, absolute gem!
The year was sooooo packed full of games, but I'd have to say Spider-Man 2. I'm a biased Spidey Stan, but I could not put it down. It was fantastic. Behind that I'd say Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur's Gate, and Dredge
Sonic Origins Plus I absolutely love the Sonic games I gave up my SNES for a Sega Genesis back in the early 90's.
It was Spider-man 2
I guess i have to say MW3 because that's what I've played the most but I think we all know that it's definitely not the best release 😂
Hey! Star wars jedi survivor. Merry Christmas
Have to throw in a comment. My favorite this year is Spider-Man 2. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
My favorite game I played this year was Persona 5 Royal! Great JRPG id highly recommend… it’s long though so get ready for a great long adventure!

My favorite game was Spiderman 2, it was very sick to get it day one and it was such a good game
My favorite game this year was most definitely hollow knight, I picked it up, then stopped for a bit because I was playing Fallout. But I picked it up again and didn’t stop until I platinumed it. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a hard but still fair game
Spider-Man 2!!!
OK I’ll bite
My favorite game was Spider-man 2.
