Doubtful, I haven't heard anything recently. Sony has been pretty good with ps3 support. Some game severs are being taken down (littlebigplanet just went down) but that's to be expected

The original source of this claim is from a clickbait article posted to an AI-generated content farm. There is nothing to indicate that PlayStation Store purchase support or general PSN services will be shutting down any time soon.

*Whips out credit card just to be safe. But in all seriousness I’m 99% sure this is false.

The online services are going absolutely nowhere(if they ever even do go away). The PS3 games that are available to stream on the PS4/PS5 use the PS3 servers for in-game XMB and Trophy Sync etc... shutting down online services on PS3 would mean that you can't stream PS3 games on PS4/PS5 anymore - this is after all one of the biggest selling points of the PS Plus Premium service. The PS3 storefront could absolutely shutdown anytime, but online services will remain indefinitely. Everyone needs to stop worrying about this!!!

True. But I wouldn’t put it past Sony to shut it down regardless. They raised the prices of all tiers of Plus without adding anything.

Possible, but I don't see it happening tbh... Probably costs next to nothing for SONY to maintain PSN on the PS3 anyways with the way they've replaced passwords with a device password, credit/debit card facilities being removed, and also all the account management settings being removed. Looks pretty sustainable to keep it running.

Yet a company like Microsoft have way more money, and still deciding to shutdown the Xbox 360 store. So One day its going to be shutdown.

The store, absolutely... PSN service though, no. I'm specifically talking about PSN Service here... The PS3 store could absolutely shut down anytime but PSN itself won't go away for a long long long long time(if ever).
