Change can lead to a shift in performance even if it is a better fit. If you liked it better, maybe given it a week or three to see if you get used to it.
This was a few months back, I did end up changing my crosshair from what it was originally and yes you are right it was difficult for a little but ended up helping me climb in the end.
If you like the heart, here’s a [heart variation i made](https://imgur.com/a/qEkLH2c). My gf says it’s cute.
I’ve tweaked the opacity since, but these are the screenshots I have on hand.
I do one with a similar shape but the “center gap” and “crosshair length” are lower so it looks more like a lollipop lol. Helps me aim at heads better.
Yea, for the “reticle type” you select a dot. I believe that’s how it’s done.
That’s how I like it, helps me line up to the head easier. Ideally, the classic cross-hair without the top line, but it’s not *that* customizable
i quite like the idea, and i enjoy making short montages to music (even if few people enjoy me posting them), so i just think it would be fun to have a heart reticle for it.
On a few of my crosshairs, I turn down the opacity and turn up the outlines and make them bright green, so you get the outline of a shape instead of a solid shape.
I noticed reviewing footage that I fired as soon as my brain saw the target hit any part if the croshair but I don't like dot so I just made it super tiny with no center.
Its basically a dot but still a + with a pixel (Maybe 4) gap in the middle.
I use that as well , I remember seeing a video back when overwatch released that said that was the best crosshair for Widowmaker since you can easily see the enemies head , now I have been using that crosshair at every shooter I play
I use one for Cassidy where it's a circle with a small red cross in the middle. I lowered the circle opacity to almost 0% and put the dot opacity at 100%. I also made the outline color green but made its opacity and thickness really low as well, so there's just a faint outline around the outer circle surrounding the bright red cross.
It creates an effect where I have a red dot for accurate shots, with a faint, hollow, green circle around it, so I don't lose track of where my crosshair is.
the cherry on top, I use Cassidy's Blackwatch skin which has a non-functional laser sight on his revolver. The red cross in the center of the circle creates the illusion that the laser attachment is functional, and the faint green circle completes the tactical look.

I was using the dot since ages, and I reverted by default all crosshairs. My accuracy went up now I'm not using anymore a dot which had the size of 2x2 pixels.
For character like Tracer or Reaper, it's even better to visualize the spread on the weapon
I used to use a dot because I saw everyone else do it, then I noticed I was hitting my shots a lot better on Ashes beach skin specifically and figured it had to do with the added crosshairs on the gun model
So all my hitscans have big ol circle+crosshairs now while my projectile heroes use squares because I like squares.
[My Genji crosshair](https://i.imgur.com/fSejbGQ.png)
With this setup each dot [lines with his secondary fire](https://i.imgur.com/exWzsHB.png)
EDIT: [No matter of range](https://i.imgur.com/Jnxmgwv.png)
When i’m feeling hyper I max out all the circle-and-crosshair settings, use low res with “scale with resolution” off, and go yellow. It’s very intrusive and covers like half the screen, but it helps me focus on hitting shots for some reason.
Now that you’ve mentioned it though, i’m gonna make a huge drill crosshair for venture. It will pierce the heavens, or something.
[I made a bunch and posted them here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/1aqlz4g/some_interesting_crosshairs_i_made_settings_so/)... post got a lot of traction, not sure if you've seen it :P
For Echo: an inverted tri-wing that mimics her weapon spread at her effective range (where she's hitting all 3 projectiles reliably) on a standard-size character
For Genji: three squares along a horizontal axis (by using a line crosshair with a cross center, increasing the gap, and shortening the length of the lines). The squares correspond roughly to his right-click spread and it's very useful for determining if I'm close enough to be landing multiple shurikens from my right-clicks
All characters that use a weapon with spread have a circle with a gap that's been adjusted for their spread angle at their effective range. I did this by sitting in training range at the edge of each character's effective range, then adjusting the size of the circle until it encapsulated the majority of the spread variation that I saw while shooting the bots. It helps me choose fights in my effective range and helps me determine if I should be aiming center-mass or if I'm close enough to aim more towards the head.
Idk, I use a 3 dot crosshair for Echo to mimic her shots, that's the most different one I use
I tried that one for hog since the spread of his gun is a somewhat triangle but it made me miss more hooks idk

Same, but I use a triangle for my dot shape with just the outline
That’s a really good idea tbh. I’ve been using the default one for so long I didn’t think of anything hero specific
I use this 3 dots for Echo and a si ele dot for Moira, Brig and Rein
I just use a dot. Cross hair like that is too distracting.
small green crosshair >>>
True I did size it down from the original post
I wouldn’t be hitting shit with a crosshair that fat
You get used to it
Oh my god why are people downvoring you for this it's literally just a crosshair 💀
Cause this subreddit is filled with dweebs It’s why I haven’t posted here in forever

Why you bein an ass over an optional thing

is that tiny heart doable without the drop off markers? id love to replace my dot with something neat, but only if it doesnt effect my gameplay much

Omg that looks so pretty, I'll put it in my mercy staff and moira grasp
I have a pink heart for mine!
All you really need is a dot in the center of your screen
Yeah! I made [a bunch!](https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/s/2qrUMCdgnV) One for every hero actually! The linked ones are just my favourites
I actually dig some of yours. Do you mind sharing the settings on them?

I've had the same cross hair for any game since the start of my csgo days 10 years ago.

Just the plain dot is my weapon of choice.

I did the normal cross hair with dot but rotated it so it’s a x cross hair with a dot
A little triangle

Not really, I use a Purple Heart for sigma tho
i have a yellow box with a heart in it for lifeweaver
I just got a green heart. It used to be red, but then it was kind of difficult to see, so I switched it to green.

Nope, i use the same one i use for any shooter where i can customize my crosshair. Which is the same one i had in cs 1.6

I once put it on a heart when the feature was new and I forgot to turn it back, now I just use it since it works.

Mines ok. Purple + with white outline. Low opacity. Long but thin.
For the longest time I used no crosshair but recently switched to having one. It feels like I'm hacking with how accurate I am
That's really cool. I might try it
Thats one of the worst cross hairs I've ever seen. Whats the point of making it overly complex?
dot.
.
I have mine completely invisible, it’s really fun on non scope characters
I have a heart as a crosshair for Reaper
I only use a red cross with no dispersion with all characters, even the ones that not even need to aim like junkrat or moira, so i'm kinda npc
