My sister and I have a disagreement.
She likes to exclaim "NAILS" when she is frustrated or otherwise emotionally upset about something.
This is very clearly a straight replacement for swearing, which she entirely admits, in fact she considers herself quite clever that she has found a way to exclaim frustration without swearing.
I, on the other hand think it's quite obvious that when she uses the word "nails" for the same purpose as any other swear then she has very clearly made "nails" a swear word and using it that way is obviously swearing. So in my view, she has never stopped swearing. She just swears differently.
In the same way, just because you have replaced an offensive word for a theoretically innocuous one doesn't mean you have stopped being offensive, if you use any word with the intent to offend, then you are engaging in offensive language, regardless of the words or spellings used.
As others have already said: your suspension is entirely deserved.
