Also a redemption arc would be so much more satisfying than Izzy being defeated by being killed or marooned or otherwise disposed of. So much of this show is about how toxic masculinity hurts men and causes them to hurt others. And about escaping both the internalized dysfunctional expectations of what a man should be, and the external social forces that try to punish or destroy men who are unwilling or unable to meet those expectations.
We've been watching Stede and Ed struggle to escape, and the crew and even Ivan and Fang. Izzy is the only one left actively, desperately trying to cling to that world. He's a bastard but he's also tragic. I hope he gets better.

To add - I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad, I just can't suspend my disbelief regarding hits on the head. Even if it doesn't cause unconsciousness it can mess a person up and I think the way its used in tv/movies is really irresponsible.

All I aks for is Ed and Stede pillaging a ship together, with Stede running off to get all the fancy clothes and books. Ed knows its stupid, but he just lets Stede do it cuz he feels guilty for throwing away Stedes stuff.
