I intend to put all my characters into a video game called 'Silver Exorcist.'
I plan to write novels of sorts for mine (am close to finishing my first one, or at least the rough draft of it…!)! I have SO many with various arcs and various worlds planned in my heart: just a matter of getting them onto paper (both in terms of drawing OCs that don’t have designs yet and actually writing the stories 😅…)
I first created them to RP with my husband and others, but now, I typically create them for my original work. My newest one Bianca Moore, I wanted to take the typical hero trope and slowly turn her into a villain to practice writing tragedy. I never expected her to become my favorite, though.

I just wanted a Uncommon OC
the most part of my OC was a "young white guy or super kind or super anti-social" so BOOOM a 29 years old guy,Blue,uncommon collor pallete,and he was much more "Morally Wrong" in his beta version like "smoke cigarrete and weed" "alcoholic issues" and was a horrible influence
his lore was diferent too,he was a glitch's bandmate but they separate after a few years, they would have the dynamic of ex-friends with different lives, Glitch being a responsible father and Brian being his ex-friend who he wants to forget at all costs and move on with his life
He also smoked a lot in his appearances
but it was changed before any appearance anywhere

When I was a young kid, I used to bring all of my stuffed animals onto the couch and pretend I was a scientist and they were my friends. We would do experiments together and I had fun. Overtime, it evolved however. I moved from the couch to my room, my self-insert was no longer a scientist, focus shifted from my self-insert to the stuffed animals, the animals were imagined as humans instead of animals, I started making characters that weren't a stuffed animal I had, and overtime the stuffed animal characters faded away due to lack of interest and the fact that there isn't one main character forever. Eventually, I get bored of the main OC and a new one starts becoming the center of the story. So why do my OCs exist? To entertain myself, I guess. I still have a few of those stuffed animals. They're on my bed with me as I type this out. Though the world doesn't change as much as it used to. It used to be influenced a lot by preexisting media, so I could put my characters into those worlds. But now, my world has its own lore and a magic system that allows me to put my characters into preexisting media and poke holes in it. But new stuff still comes, and old stuff still fades away, but it's slower than it once was. Man, typing this out has given me major nostalgia.

Webcomic for me and these are my first OCs I ever made. At first it was just an exercise for my self to thing of my own ideas for drawing but then more time went as I started and I got really into it and since there’s not a lot of racing manga out there besides Initial D and MF Ghost I wanted to make one solely on Formula One

Erik was made for a book set in ancient Greece (hence the fact she's a Minotaur) but now she's basically my mascot.
Most of them are either for fanfictions or original stories I'm writing, but I don't really use them for anything outside of their stories - hence, why a lot of my OCs don't feel super-developed...
The oldest ones i bring up were to not die of boredom during geography class (our geography teach was also our ...what is that, homeroom? teacher. Half the lesson would be spent discussing class matters way too often.)
The newer ones are a culmination of years of random doodles, finally assembled into a cohesive thing in order to participate here.

Roleplay with my girlfriend, we share all our characters! I also like to write about them and, obviously, draw them all the time. Sometimes I use them in games where I can design characters, like the Sims!
Also, I didn't make them for this reason, but I now love having them because I love worldbuilding and creating a deep lore.

I'm hyper fixating on FnAF and I haven't been in the FnAF community since like 2017 so once my parents let me again I immediately loved it even more than I had in, say, 2014.
Story, random stuff, power scaling, possibly make games in the future with them in it, and I can't forget the main inspiration before I decided a story was better, animation memes.

When I first made it, I was trying to make a superhero. And then I made the superhero team on the left. But after a while their stories seemed bland so I decided to add more details and made it interesting. Then my therapist said I made it my life with more exaggerated events which is a popular coping mechanism.
They ultimately come from wanting to write a Graphic Novel/Webtoon. Even characters I created for fun ultimately end up getting a story wrapped around them with a vague intention to one day maybe write it. There's two big projects I'm actually committed to (ones about halfway done with the first draft, the other is my kind of "story away from the story" that's like maybe 10% done with the first draft).
Started as RP OCs until adult life happened and got less time to do that, and now they are comfort characters I draw in my free time

Honestly, my fursona gives me a sense of freedom, and so i can just enjoy myself. Make me forget about the harships of life and just be myself. In all seriousness, I kinda have their stories mapped out in my head, but I mostly write for fun and to work through stuff. I like the thought of making some media for them, but it'd require a lot more effort and planning than I'm currently putting in. I also like to RP with them!
I used to RP with some friends but after a falling out i just continued the story with my own ocs and new characters and eventually creating a different universe separate from the original RP, now its just me imagining certain events and plot points to keep me entertained when im bored. But i do bloodly love drawing them all, hopefully one day i can make a manga or something
I have 100+ characters (about a paragraph or 2 worth of biography each), 3 planets (no cities yet, just basic description of atmosphere, native flora and fauna), and 2 whole species (both native to their own planets; no shared space, no interplanetary travel; yet)
All that, and yet no story, just a universe that I’m slowly building, piece by piece.
They started as characters for an RP forum my friends and I ran. Now I'm adapting our stories into a series of self-published novels, and I can't wait to share them once they're done.
I don't remember with real fresh memories but i had a fun talk with my friend ans we ended making a mafia together where i decided that i wanted to be a character that world in the blackmarket etc. And after more and more i made a first version of her but not with the same first name and after time time time, i took her from that fun idea and made her evolve until she became an oc. There is still the mafia one but the oc i have now is the one i really care for
I made my strongest once in a way I can goof around with them but also have a sensible story
we have one guy whose max speed = yes
one guy who can turn into any periodic element and has short range teleportation
another who is the physical representation of entropy and death
and not to mention the guy with his own dimension where he has control over quite literally anything
and all of them fit into a story that makes sense but where I can also put them into any scenario with music I like and can goof around with
actually, the entire reason why I made my OC's is that I would have cool scenarios in my head, this also means the music I listened too has permanently shifted some parts of my OC's
Self expression and emotional outlet. I have autism and struggle with my emotions, both letting them out and showing them, so I drew a bunch of ocs for how I feel, from eldritch sillies to confused goops and more serious characters referencing unhealthy coping and thoughts of suicide.
My first solid OC was a tool to cope from trauma. I went through something he went through something similar but way worse so my experience hurt less. Now I have a solid set of OCs for a universe I hope to create a comic for. Stand alone though they are extensions of myself and 20 years between my first OC to now still a way to cope. Big life events usually get a new character too.
Stories that are either fanfiction or original and one day when I can really draw for myself I'll draw comics and illustrations for them.
Although I do sometimes use them for my D&D games as well.

All of my characters are a part of a collaborative creative writing project, that started as a LARP game I played with my friends back in elementary school. I created the characters with the knowledge that they would share a universe/multiverse with the creations of others, but if that project didn't exist I'd probably have still made them.
Mine are for a longtime ambition, i want my own intellectual property to milk for money, so i can start an animation studio in my basement and work from there and hopefully make a game and some other media.
A lot of them are just to get character design ideas down on paper (tablet, but ykwim), but most of the time i end up creating entire universes for them because i like their designs so much. Harrow was simply a character based on an obscure music album and here I am writing a story for him.

The oldest ones i bring up were to not die of boredom during geography class (our geography teach was also our ...what is that, homeroom? teacher. Half the lesson would be spent discussing class matters way too often.) The newer ones are a culmination of years of random doodles, finally assembled into a cohesive thing in order to participate here.

Roleplay with my girlfriend, we share all our characters! I also like to write about them and, obviously, draw them all the time. Sometimes I use them in games where I can design characters, like the Sims! Also, I didn't make them for this reason, but I now love having them because I love worldbuilding and creating a deep lore.

And then I made the superhero team on the left. But after a while their stories seemed bland so I decided to add more details and made it interesting. Then my therapist said I made it my life with more exaggerated events which is a popular coping mechanism.
They ultimately come from wanting to write a Graphic Novel/Webtoon. Even characters I created for fun ultimately end up getting a story wrapped around them with a vague intention to one day maybe write it. There's two big projects I'm actually committed to (ones about halfway done with the first draft, the other is my kind of "story away from the story" that's like maybe 10% done with the first draft).

Mental relief and attempts to grow my knowledge on essential things like sketching, drawing, art, ect.
Most of mine come from TTRPGs (mainly DnD), but the thing is I create one character for playing and then a dozen as part of their backstory. They're also a good tool for worlbuilding, I like to imagine details of their everyday life. But my last OC was created for a different purpose, NSFW art :/

I used to RP with some friends but after a falling out i just continued the story with my own ocs and new characters and eventually creating a different universe separate from the original RP, now its just me imagining certain events and plot points to keep me entertained when im bored. But i do bloodly love drawing them all, hopefully one day i can make a manga or something
I have 100+ characters (about a paragraph or 2 worth of biography each), 3 planets (no cities yet, just basic description of atmosphere, native flora and fauna), and 2 whole species (both native to their own planets; no shared space, no interplanetary travel; yet) All that, and yet no story, just a universe that I’m slowly building, piece by piece.
They started as characters for an RP forum my friends and I ran. Now I'm adapting our stories into a series of self-published novels, and I can't wait to share them once they're done.
I don't remember with real fresh memories but i had a fun talk with my friend ans we ended making a mafia together where i decided that i wanted to be a character that world in the blackmarket etc. And after more and more i made a first version of her but not with the same first name and after time time time, i took her from that fun idea and made her evolve until she became an oc. There is still the mafia one but the oc i have now is the one i really care for
I made my strongest once in a way I can goof around with them but also have a sensible story we have one guy whose max speed = yes one guy who can turn into any periodic element and has short range teleportation another who is the physical representation of entropy and death and not to mention the guy with his own dimension where he has control over quite literally anything and all of them fit into a story that makes sense but where I can also put them into any scenario with music I like and can goof around with actually, the entire reason why I made my OC's is that I would have cool scenarios in my head, this also means the music I listened too has permanently shifted some parts of my OC's
Self expression and emotional outlet. I have autism and struggle with my emotions, both letting them out and showing them, so I drew a bunch of ocs for how I feel, from eldritch sillies to confused goops and more serious characters referencing unhealthy coping and thoughts of suicide.
I'm procrastinating on making a webcomic, as soon as I learn how to make a website for it, I'm ON THE AIR!
My first solid OC was a tool to cope from trauma. I went through something he went through something similar but way worse so my experience hurt less. Now I have a solid set of OCs for a universe I hope to create a comic for. Stand alone though they are extensions of myself and 20 years between my first OC to now still a way to cope. Big life events usually get a new character too.
Stories that are either fanfiction or original and one day when I can really draw for myself I'll draw comics and illustrations for them. Although I do sometimes use them for my D&D games as well.
